A list of puns related to "Snowshoeing"
So this may be unique to me and my area. But this last winter I would do runs/hikes where the lower portion of my runs trails will have ice or more packed snow, for this part I'll use spikes. Then when I get to the upper part there can be decent amount of snow and I will switch over to Snowshoes.
I can't find a pack that is good for holding a hydration pack, gear and Snowshoes strapped to the back. I actually I used a skateboarding pack that has two straps across the back. Snow bags are only good for carrying Snowshoes, all a pack would need is those 2 straps on the back.
Anyone else in this use Case?
Looking for recommendations for places to snowshoe. I know thereβs a lot of snow in the North Cascades until mid summer and I was wondering about other places that I can snowshoe in May (and maybe June?).
I am pretty free next month, so I want to snowshoe as much as possible. I donβt mind driving so almost anywhere in the PNW is good! What are some good places to explore?
Any distance/difficulty is fine. If Iβm not ready for it now, Iβll try to work my way up to it by next season. Thanks!
I was thinking about doing a snowshoeing backpacking trip from Echo Lake to Lake Aloha. Does anyone know if thereβs still enough snow for snowshoeing?
i'm kinda wondering what conditions are like around Nederland or Golden Gate Canyon.
First time visit to Yosemite this weekend. Staying in Wauwona. Would like suggestions on places within an hour where I could take my family snowshoeing. The adults are in decent shape and our two 13 year old girls are probably in better shape but have limited experience and might mutiny if things get gnarly. So nothing too strenuous and certainly nothing too dangerous (avalanche risk). Wildlife and views would be a bonus.
Although in principle I might be able to convince everyone to pack their snow shoes up to the snow line, ideally we could drive to a trail head above the snow line then snowshoe a loop through the woods with a moderate elevation gain. (We all have heel lifts)
If there's a guide service still operating in Covid times I would be game.
Anyone have any good snowshoe routes around Baker Lake or thereabouts? Meeting family for a snowshoe outing, looking for something moderately strenuous that stays out of avalanche terrain. Iβm usually skiing all winter, so not familiar with good snowshoe trails.
Backup option is artist point/bagley lakes, but itβll shorten the drive for the others if we go somewhere south of Bellingham.
Hi all! I recently just moved to South Lake Tahoe, and not a huge skier (due to multiple injuries LOL) but a HUGE hiker and excited to start hiking. Planning on going Saturday, I know itβs been a slow snow season and not as much snow as normal. But what are some great hiking spots for snowshoeing youβd recommend?
