A list of puns related to "Recency"
We lost horribly to the cavs and thats going to happen. We beat the mavericks pretty well and have been considerably more solid than last year. I actually look forward to watching the wiz this year because I know every game we have a chance. You can't just look to tear everything down after a bad loss to the cavs and an off night with the spurs.
Last year we didn't even have double digit wins at this point in the season, we can't expect to be a one seed right after that. Let the team come together and find their roles. Most people on this team have been together for less than 25 games which makes our success feel that much better. Everyone will find their roles and I'm sure we will be good.
Like shit a character could nuke a mountain and people on this sub will just say the reason people say he's the strongest is recency bias.
It definitely apply to other characters but when Edward speed bliz's and knocks senseless top tiers saying his the strongest isn't just because it happened recently.
So far, every character that got an impressive feat proceeded to get wanked pretty hard until around the next chapter appeared. I'll list for my memory who got wanked and why as a way to remember the characters that were wanked on the sub.
Very strong but some wanked Flashy to be > Tats, Psykorochi, Released Boros ect.
Treated like he was nigh unbeatable due to the acid he had and that only above dragons could deal with him.
People rated him as the strongest dragon and came up with convoluted reasons why he would beat any non above dragon character when he barely has feats to suggest that level of strength.
Revealed to be much stronger than we thought but it led to posts about those two stomping Boros coming around.
I wasn't around for this one but apparently people thought that Suiryu would be on par with Saitama and was stronger than most of the S class lol.
Feel free to correct me on any details or suggest any characters I missed. Also this post is just for fun so don't try to purposefully aggravate other groups of fans.
I've liked Vic Fangio and have defended him during his tenure here. I acknowledged his improvement (yes, there has been some) but have believed for a long while that he just can't manage a game effectively. Taking that last timeout when he shouldn't have (and he owned it in the press conference), was my last straw. He didn't take the timeout because of anything other than he had a timeout and thought he was supposed to use it with time winding down.
The time had stopped due to the Bengal injury, there was 2:36 left, a 24 second playclock, and while the clock would have started at the whistle, the Bengals would have had to run a play or take a timeout before the 24 second playclock expired. And after that play, Vic could have used his last timeout and still would have had the 2:00 warning stoppage.
With that said, who do we replace him with? (I would almost be okay with it if Manchuk was handed the keys to close the season. See what he's got to offer and let our DC (Donatel?) take over defensive play calling to see what he's got to offer.)
Shurmur once again was underwhelming with his playcalling. Who do we replace him with?
Glad Bridgewater wasn't seriously injured, but he's definitely not the answer. We won't know how to approach replacing him until the off season unfolds some (Rodgers available? Who has the early draft picks and can we move up?).
The team in it's current state, isn't going to make any waves. Sure, Any Given Sunday and all (happy for the Lions), but at this point, I don't see the value in kicking this can any further, but I'm also aware that there just may not be anything that can be done at this point (EXCEPT maybe see what our current coaching staff has to offer if given the opportunity).
I created a post expressing how flat the team seemed to be. It stood out to me because it was a home game and while the defense started out hot, the offense seemed to deflate them. Whether that's on Fangio or Shurmur or the lack of leadership ability on the offense, it was there and I was very disappointed that nobody seemed to be able to harness any mojo. Even when Lock entered, he looked like he didn't have any confidence (maybe rightfully so).
i know the question i asked is kinda dumb but imma zoomer who only started really paying attention to the NBA semi-recently, so imma need y'all to educate me.
Looking at the the past few years' draft classes, we have some star players emerging already and many nba ready players in this current class with crazy potential
2016: jaylen brown, jamal murray, pascal siakam, brandon ingram, domantas sabonis, fred vanvleet, dejounte murray, simmons??
2017: jayson tatum, lonzo ball, donovan mitchel, bam adebyao, deaaron fox, jarret allen
2018: luka doncic, trae young, deandre ayton, shia gilegoeus-alexander, michael porter jr, mikal bridges, jaren jackson jr
2019: ja morant, zion williamson, tyler herro, rj barret(as of late), darius garland,
2020: lamelo ball, anthony edwards, tyrese haliburton, tyrese maxey, saddiq bey, cole anthony
2021: evan mobley, cade cunnigham, josh giddey, scottie barnes, franz wagner, herb jones, jalen green, alperen shenGOD
theres definitely players im forgetting but the past couple of years seem to have been crazy good in producing players.
do you think that there is a clear trend that players are getting better and draft classes are getting even more deep, or has there been similar times in the past where something like these few years have happened?
I know the 2003 class is pretty legendary but what are some other stand out years that match the level of these couple years, or am I overrating these past couple years?
let me know what yall think but i think it only makes sense for players to keep getting better and classes to continue to being more and more impressive
I feel like it's very easy to look at the past few years when Lewis was so far ahead of everyone else that he won the championship 5 races early, and say "look! clean championship"
But any time a championship has ever been close, the last few races are nothing but dirty driving.
Lewis v Rosberg? Lewis drives absurdly slowly to back the pack up and hope for a collision or something - desperately trying for someone to overtake or crash into Nico. And leading up to it, Lewis was the aggressive driver who wouldn't leave space. [Lewis spent an entire season understeering Nico off the track, has done it to max a few times this year, to both gasly and albon recently, etc. Lewis is absolutely a dirty driver, and I could bring up a dozen more examples in the past year...] [edit : I bring up this example to show that people twist rules to their advantage, see Art. 27.4 in the Sporting Regulations, not to point out that lewis is a dirty driver - although he and max are definitely BOTH dirty drivers, no doubt about it].
Senna v Prost? Schumacher v Hill? Piquet v Mansell? This is just how it is.
In the last few races - especially someone on the backfoot (the RB car since silverstone) - that person resorts to twisted rules and pushing the regs and whatever they can do get the title. It happens every. single. time.
Easy to look back and forget that since the past few years have been nothing but Lewis 30 seconds ahead of everyone else, but this is what actual racing looks like. Sorry if that's not your thing or you can't stand the drama... but this isn't abnormal in any way.
edit :
look back at the heralded "most fair and well explained articles" about racing like this one : https://f1metrics.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/the-rules-of-racing/
and you'll see quotes like "Like Senna before him, Hamilton engineered situations where it was up to the other driver to back out to avoid a racing incident where blame would be shared."
Lewis does it. Max does it. They all do it. It's racing. Calm down.
edit 2 :
There is Art. 27.4 in the Sporting Regulations: "At no time may a car be driven unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner which could be deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers or any other person."
Backing up an entire pack at racing speed on a title fight is absolutely "unnecessary" , and absolutely could be deemed "potentially dangerous". Compressing a group of racing cars o

Literally as soon as a project comes out you guys act like it is his best work and everything before it was trash, like when SK released people were saying it was better than AIYB2 on day one, now you guys are saying FTB is better than SK make up your minds.
The definition of Recency Effect: The recency effect is a memory phenomenon in which people tend to recall the most recent information more accurately.
Basically the SHF are wanting the public to have this in their minds. That way when GME announces, the public will just remember "we are dead in the water". This is a textbook social psychology situation. Granted I dropped out of school quite a while ago, but this was all that came to mind when I saw this happening real time.
Just a late night ape thought.
Now, I know what you're thinking. No, this is not a joke. This is also not me saying that we will beat OSU this year by any means, as talent wise, they are certainly the superior team.
Let's take a look at the games vs. OSU with Harbaugh as HC:
Now, at this point, we're 0-3 against OSU, but with poor reffing and QB play determine the last two games, I feel it is fair to say Michigan has gotten a little bit unlucky.
I'm gonna wait a little while before j commit to saying it's my favourite, because the voice acting didn't vibe with me too much and the death was good but felt a little weak, but I can't think of an episode that made me smile more than this one lol
Recency bias isΒ a cognitive bias that favors recent events over historic ones.
I feel that especially here, but in general with fantasy, current events are totally overrated. Sure, sometimes they show a trend. But often people tend to extrapolate completely distorted.
Wouldn't it be more reasonable in fantasy assessments to look at the average of the last five games, for example, rather than just the last one?
Especially regarding trades: people tend to buy high on players, who had like three great weeks (Mike Williams, toney...).
Why isnβt it a recency bias? Well, because the last album I declared his best (not even a month after drop, no less) was TLOP and there it stayed for 5 years.
I loved ye, JIK, etc. but I never declared any of them his magnum opus, at any time.
Donda is different.
It might even make more sense to consider this from a perspective of someone whoβs favorite LP was TLOP. Why?
Because Donda is the album Kanye meant TLOP to be. His true βgospel bangerβ album.
Itβs TLOP perfected. Best production, features and lyrics out of Kanye West in years. Itβs a 10/10. And truthfullyβ¦it might actually be his very best.
Has anyone experienced dealing with recency requirements?
I recently found out that some of my nursing applications got rejected because of low prereqs GPA of 3.20
The thing is, before applying, I did repeat all the prereqs classes with A's (Anat&Phys and Microbiology) since It has been over 7 years when I last took them. But for some reason, my official transcript does not give me quality points for the recent one; instead, it uses my old ones, which I did pretty bad (3 B's and 1 C).
For that reason, my GPA was calculated as 3.20 instead of 3.76
Additional info. The California university counselor I applied for told me that since my recent pre-reqs courses (the one with A's) does not have a quality point attached to them, they had to use the old one to calculate my GPA). Also, The 7 years gap was because I joined the Army.
Is this normal for recency courses? If so, that means I'm pretty much F'ed and can't ever apply to nursing school
Does anyone else think prices of new cards are insane especially compared to some older cards? For example, I saw a Magic Johnson Auto PSA 9 for $400 but a Ja Morant Auto PSA 9 for $1700.
Any thoughts?
Who has the best super bowl team?
I was wondering about the impact of how recent the service hours are. I did A LOT of service hours for a college student, and ever since COVID hit, I haven't touched it much, nor clinical hours. I would be set if I were to have applied immediately after COVID, but it's been almost 2 years since most of recent service activities. Is this really bad? I'm currently in a research job but I want to apply MD only.
This guy went on a talk show a couple days ago with Stephen Colbert and claimed Beyonce is the greatest performer of all time
He said this a couple years ago two https://www.okayplayer.com/music/michael-eric-dyson-beyonce-michael-jackson.html
No hate to Beyonce, but this is bias cause it's recent, Beyonce doesn't have the same impact as MJ, she also lacks numbers compared to MJ, her numbers are not looked at properly. Michael Jackson broke racial barriers, he innovated music videos to a new level, his music defined a generation and much more. I seriously can't say the same for Beyonce
I applied for a job in mid-October, and heard the very next day that they wanted to talk to me. Eventually, I met with the hiring manager in early November, and two other company employees in mid November. By the week of Thanksgiving, I was told I was well-liked, and to share my availability for a third round of interviews just after Thanksgiving.
Butβ¦ it turns out they are still interviewing other candidates, and a couple weeks ago, they told me that they want to let other candidates βcatch upβ to me in the process. That was two weeks ago now, and itβs been over a month since I actually met with/interviewed with someone from the company. I am very concerned that other candidates will benefit from recency bias.
Iβd like to follow up somehow, to continue to express my interest, and make sure that my candidacy is still in the mix. What can I say or do at this point?
Iβm curious what peopleβs philosophy is on this. Of course every situation is unique, so letβs talk Jaylen Waddle vs Kadarius Toney for example. Waddle has been fine so far. Iβve watched nearly every snap of the Dolphins this year and his usage has been very solid, but Iβm yet to see Waddle do something that made me say βwowβ. Whereas Toney has had multiple plays in just two weeks of seeing the field that made my jaw drop. By no means should you be panicking on Waddle. I believe heβll be fine long term, but are we dumb to not be valuing Toney and Waddle similarly now? It may sound like an outlandish question, but it seems like people forget Toney and Waddle were drafted only 14 picks apart.
Personally, Iβm pretty aggressive when it comes to going after players who flash something what I deem to be βspecialβ before their price potentially skyrockets, even if it means losing a trade on paper at the time. (Snagging Justin Jefferson after he exploded in week 3 last year will never be topped).
I believe itβs crucial to remain fluid in how we view players in dynasty and adapt quickly to what weβre seeing on the field (with balance, of course). Weβve now seen Kadarius Toney completely take over an NFL game, so why shouldnβt we trade an Elijah Moore or Jaylen Waddle straight up for somebody who has already proven they can do it?
I know Iβm going to be in the minority but Iβm interested to hear other peopleβs school thought on this
Hey, random person on the internet here to give my thoughts on the MVP race and who I believe deserves it, as well as looking at who I think may not deserve it as much.
MVP = Most VALUABLE Player. As sad in a way as it is, this makes it very difficult for certain roles to win the award. Looking at you Off-Tank and Main-Support π
This brings me into my first point. Hanbin. I adore hanbin, and hes played just as good, if not better than on Paris in 2020, but I think being MVP almost requires a level of Flashiness, look at Fleta in 2020. Despite being a minimum top 2 off-tank this year, and arguably the most consistent player of the year, I dont think he βdeservesβ MVP.
Next, players I just dont think were at the same level as the other nominees. This includes; Izayaki (incredible player, but outshined by other players at the same role, and on the same team) and Profit (cracked as always, but didnt carry quite hard enough to make any tourneys, and Seoul dropped the playoffs ball)
Next, Fleta. Hes insane, but Iβll never want to see a 2-Time MVP winner, and to be fair, I do still think there are better candidates.
Now, there are six. Leave, Fearless, LIP, Shu, Pelican and Sparkle.
At this point, opinion takes over just about everything else - I think most would at least partially agree with my previous points, but now it gets tough.
Here, Ill remove Pelican and Sparkle. I love both these dudes, and MVP is a fitting title for them both, but Sparkle doesnt really feel like he has a storyline, hes just really, really good, and Pelican, despite being such a key part of Atlanta, still hasnt reached the highs of any other player left, they never reached a Finals, and never lifted a title.
LIP is a weird one for me, strictly looking at results, anyone could make a case for him deserving the MVP title, but, for me, I have other players Iβd rather see lift the trophy, mainly because LIP doesnt feel like he has personality or Pizazz, almost like Sparkle? Hes just really good, I like a story ladies and gentlemen this is probably the most opinionated and biased thing Iβve written here though, so I completely understand why someone would disagree.
Then there were three. Lets move onto the biggest topic of debate ive seen in this MVP race.
Fearless Vs Shu and Recency Bias.
Then there were three. Lets move onto the biggest topic of debate ive seen in this MVP race.
Main Tank and Flex-Support can both really flashy spots with the right players, making for insane
