Is bombarding Rabaul hard-coded to do 0 damage?
I just bombarded Rabaul three times and none of them resulted in any change to the port or airfield level. I've bombarded other bases down to 0/0 port and airfield, so I'm confident I'm not just goofing something with the UI.
This is a vanilla play-through with no mods. My task force has 2 BBs and a CA, plus escorts, and looking at the heavies' details I can see they are down to zero 8" and 16" ammunition from being full just prior.
Is there something in the game coding that makes Rabaul impervious to damage? Is it always going to be a 5/5 base no matter what I do?
I realize that if I can send a heavy task force to pound Rabaul into dust, this campaign is definitely over. But I sort of wanted this to happen as the icing on the cake.
