Hi! Someone left me their 80lt fish tank so me and my partner are slowly learning how to care for it and we are liking it. We cleaned it and bought a lot of "furniture" like caves, boats, plants and places where they can hide and be quiet.
There were two orange platy, 3 neon, two corydoras i think (the ones with moustache) and one ancystrus. Sorry if i mispelled.
Anyway, it was sad so we went to the store to buy some fishes. We bought two guppy because i knew they were peaceful tank guests. Then we asked to the shop assistant wich fish was ok for our setting, and he pointed us some tanks. We bought two puntius anchisporus because they were cute and vaguely looked like kittens lol. The guy said it was ok.
Now i'm reading they are called "fin eaters" and they are quite aggressive with other fishes. Is that true? What i should do?
We emptied the tank, cleaned it and changed the setting before introducing the new fishes to the tank. They seem to get along with the neons because the are swimming together and what looks like "playing". The platy are hidden since yesterday but i think it's because we scared them with all the changes.
Anyway what i should do? Remove the puntius? Buy more of them? Or let them be? And can i buy more of them since they are cute and playful? Thanks

I have my 120l aquarium for about 7 months and I'm really happy about it. I have figured out lots of problems already, but this one still annoys me. Probably lots of beginners have problems with Rhodophyta but I still can't find a way how to get rid of it forever. I have once successfuly removed it by using "Flourish Excel Bioavailable Carbon for the Planted Aquarium", it worked really well but the alga came back in few days or weeks... I know that Crossocheilus siamensis can eat it, but I'm not sure that it would be fine in my set-up. I would to love to not only remove the problem but the reason why is this happening too. There is list of my fish and plants I have in there. I know it's in Czech language, but the latin names are same, hope you'll be able to find your way around. I'm lighting 8 hours per day, feeding twice a day and occasionally pumping air in there, but just sometimes and just a little.
2nd problem is this fish. It's Puntius titteya, female. She is not moving a lot and compared to others of her type, really fat. Does she have eggs inside of her or is she just ill?.. It's not a livebearer so I doubt the first option, but I'm really not an expert in this field and have no idea about it.
Excuse non-english terms because I don't know how to call all these species in english so I hope latin is fine. Excuse my broken english too, this is kind of practice for me too :D

Just spotted some black brush algae in my planted tank. I rubbed what I found off, but I know it's almost impossible to eradicate without overdosing excel or removing the effected hardscape and treating with H2O2. I'm going to increase my CO2, but I thought it might help to get a Siamese Algae Eater, as they are highly praised as eating this particular algae. I know they reach up to 15cm, which would make them the largest fish in my aquarium. Does anyone have experience with these fish and have a general estimate on how quickly they reach this size?
On a related note, I know Redline Barbs have a similar appetite for algae and reach the same size. If I were to get a school of 4-5 Redlines, how fast do they grow? The ones for sale are about 5cm. I'm trying to gauge if I'll have my new tank set up in time to move them when they outgrow my 40g tank. It should be running by the end of this summer or late fall by the latest.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
