I teach spec. Ed middle school. Lately several of my students (girls) have been talking about "bunnies" (
). They have come to school with the playboy bunny on their nails, shirts and have been talking about their shein order that include items of "bunnies"....
I thought playboy was dead, as in they had no idea who/what it was. It was brought up to admin that said "there are stores at the mall that sell it, its parental discretion".
What are you'll doing about it? Do I address it with the students? It really doesn't pay these girls in the best of light. But I also don't really know if they know what the image stands for.

The first South Asian to become a Playboy "bunny" was Katy Mirza. In the early 1970s, Katy was a young aspiring graphic designer working as a receptionist at the London Hilton hotel when an employee from Playboy spotted her and asked her to audition. After a meeting with Hugh Hefner, she became a Playboy bunny in 1973.

Her popularity as a Playboy bunny brought her to Mumbai where she appeared in a few Bollywood movies (photo 4). Her career in Bollywood didn't end up taking off but throughout the 70s she was featured in magazines and ads. She settled down in London where she passed away in 2017 at the age of 67.
