I have been working for quite a while on a speculative evolutionary project, inspired by asturian mythology. All flora, minerals and almost all geografy is done, so I started with the second view of the bestiary. And with that came all the problems...
I have a 6 metres long predator with a wingspan between 8 and 12 metres, "close" relative to monitor lizards. They live near the cost line and mountains, however is not weird to see them anywhere near water really. With a diet based on carrion and any medium to great size animal (humans are also in the menu). On winter, they hibernate inside their huge and complex nest. They are the apex predator of the region.
I also have a horse size like flying quadruped, related to raptors (prey birds). They live near montains and are active throughout the year. Their diet is based on medium sice mammals (goats are their main sorce of easy food).
Do their ecological niche collapse or is save to roll?

In my setting the “core” area of the main empire is a flat and wide river basin covered in a temperate oceanic climate like that of France.
Since the civilisation in question has technological levels similar to that of the classical antiquity and the area is protected from external threats by significant natural barriers, is it within the realm of plausibility to make prodigiously productive in terms of agricultural production and inhabited by about ten millions of people?
I need to add a 1 unit class for Summer Session C because so currently have 11 and need 12 to get my full university grant. What is the workload like for this class? I would be taking it with physics 4AL and Jerusalem Holy City (writing 2 class). Do I need any prior knowledge for this class or anything like that? Thank you.
The overlap of these 2 broad climate types seems very uncommon. Most oceanic/marine temperate zones are significantly cooler (Northern Europe, British Columbia, etc.) and most subtropical regions get much greater extremes of heat and humidity (the US south, southern Japan, etc.). Places like Auckland get the best qualities of both of these climate types resulting in an unusually mild, warm/wet climate.
