A list of puns related to "Obligate Parasite"
Maybe because many species are warm-blooded (opah, birds and mammals) or lukewarm-blooded (some sharks and some sea turtles) and almost all the giants in the animal world are part of this clade.
Given that the tumour cell line is genetically distinct from the host organism's, for example having less chromosomes and a different chromosomal structure.
If so, can they die or are they more closely related to a chemical reaction such as fire?

>A surprisingly good tactical shooter that reminds of classic Rainbow Six games. Its gameplay faults are easy to fix, and you don't have to guess if it'll have a good post-release support.

However, I've found it really helpful for my own mental health to find small ways I can remove myself from the system. Maybe making small, personal changes won't directly hasten the revolution, but taking care of our own wellbeing is utterly essential to being effective in direct action.
A few years ago, disgusted by the practices of the bank I was with, I found out about credit unions. While they aren't explicitly socialist, they are communitarian and profits are in the control of all members. Banking with them is a shitload better for one's peace of mind than the guilt that comes from funding, in however small a way, the for-profit horror of the big banks.
For the uninitiated:
No more predatory finance bros charging you for the privilege of banking with them. No more having your money used as fuel in the planet-fucking capitalist business cycle.
Find your local credit union:
In the US, there are some credit unions that allow membership based on charitable donation (beats paying a fee to Chase) or membership of a non-profit group, so if you don't have a local one, you can consider those:
The NASA federal credit union is open to paying members of the National Space Society ($20 introductory rate).
Lake Michigan Credit Union lets you join if you donate $5 to the ALS Foundation charity.
Alliant Credit Union lets you join if you donate $5 to the Foster Care to Success charity.

I'm currently doing some deep dives into Saturn cults and their connections to Eleusinian Mysteries/Cults of Isis.
One thing that stood out starkly in the context of current establishment narratives is Saturn as Demiurge/consciousness control. It has been particularly striking to see how the mainstream dismisses non-vaccine treatments for COVID 19. Even treatments like ivermectin, which are proven safe and are possibly effective are being touted as 'anti-science', or 'anti-narrative'. Why should this be the case?
As a cat owner I'm aware of the danger of Toxoplasma gondii,, 'an obligate intracellular parasitic protozoan (specifically an apicomplexan) that causes toxoplasmosis.'
Toxoplasmosis has relatively benign proven effects in adults (except for pregnant women) but is linked to behavior modification in rodents- particularly as it relates to their fear responses. (Currently unconnected aside, 2020 was the year of the Rat.)
As Demiurge, Saturn is often depicted as a worm with the face of a cat. Recently I started wondering if ivermectin is possibly a treatment for Toxoplasma gondii. While it doesn't look like there's anything definitive, there have been studies done that show positive affect.
My question is whether the ivermectin controversy is actually cover for undiscovered behavioral affects of toxoplasma gondii on humans. Whether you'd like to say that it is happening symbolically, magickally, spiritually, or through some other resonance, it would all seem to explain the Establishment's concentrated effort to combat large scale ivermectin uptake.
The ivermectin fights the worm, the worm is tied to Saturn, Saturn is in control of the Machine. This is also very interesting as it relates to Pfizer and others rolling out their own versions of ivermectin. This seems to indicate that the meaning is not in the vector so much as the degree. The Machine doesn't care if you're infected with a parasite or paying subservice to 'The Science'. Both are adequate idealistic forms as long as the degree of control is cranked high enough.
Before I spend much more time trying to establish these connections, does anyone have related reading? I think there is particular meaning in cats being the vector for the worm. Cats connect everything bac

My favourite thing is checking the analysis video's and article's after watching the movie.
I just saw Hereditary, Midsommar, Mother and the Green Knight.
Just wondering if I missed some psychological horror/thiller gems from the last 5 years.
Thanks!
Edit:
I saw these already and they'd defenitely fit the list of my question, but forgot to mention:
- The Killing of a Sacred Deer
- The Babadook
- Nocturnal Animals
- Swallow
- Enemy
- Parasite
- The House
Thanks for all your suggestions!
I can already tell I won't get much sleep the coming weeks.
I did a quick lookup of every movie listed.
Purely based on gut feeling, I think I'll check these out first:

Faced with this burden, Jay and her teenage friends must find a way to escape the horrors that seem to be only a few steps behind. (imdb)

βThe skyβ¦ is fallingβ¦β Nodrin says, their mind yet to process what apocalyptic spendor plays out above.
Metal crafts without the need of any sort of large balloon or gas sack fly in the air at impossible speeds and perform incredibly sharp turns. The initial dissenting demon-bringers coated in red are beset by far more aggressive crafts in a vast array of different shapes. Like mythical beasts of old they fluidly soar, expelling breaths of blur and orange flames that travel faster than fireworks.
Red crafts that have yet to touch down on the city streets start to flee back into the sky as their assailants utterly annihilate them without an ounce of mercy.
βTheyβreβ¦ not from undergroundβ¦β Meeki mutters in awe just before a red craft explodes above, sending its fractured carcass down towards the couple.
Nodrin takes hold of their bondmate and leaps toward a narrow alleyway. By the skin of their fangs the two barrel between buildings just before the craft impacts. The thing blisters the street tearing up cobblestone like a shovel through gravel. Flames burst forth in concentrated plumes from several cracks in the craftβs exterior, followed by an internal eruption. Buildings adjacent to it are overcome by a shockwave carrying liquid flame and molten alien metals.
Unable to withstand it, the building just on the coupleβs left caves in upon the street. The two crawl ahead through the alley as they are soon blinded by clouds of hot ash and dust. Holding on to one another they press on until they feel a solid wall blocking the way forward. A dead end within this increasingly unbreathable air. They stagger up against it, feeling for any footholds to climb up, but have no such luck.
Looking back, Meeki considers the risk of going back to navigate through the wreckage. But the heat alone coming from that direction alone dissuades such an option. Out of desperation she takes out an arrow and stabs it into the wall to perhaps make her own footing, but the stone surface only suffers a scratch. Even though Nodrin is up against her, she can barely make out their silhouette. She wants to say something, apologies for drawing them into this chaos. That out of all the Gratt they could have bonded with, it was she who they followed.
She reaches her head

I'll be summarizing the relationship between Kiyo and Kei/Honami from the beginning and explaining details/analysing characters , so you can read on if you're interested in some parts that you may have missed on catching. Beware though , wall of text incoming.
Starting with Kei , as we know , their relationship started in V4. Kiyo's original intent for approaching Kei the way he did was out of self-protection instinct. Cause he was being blackmailed by Sae in V3 , forced into helping his class. As a result he devised a plan , painted Ryuen as the target he needs to defeat right after he made his moves in the island exam. He had anticipated that Ryuen would try to probe Horikita in V4 , and the resulting plans were all part of Kiyo's intention to guide Ryuen on the path to collide head on with him in V7 by making Kei as the bait , as he himself said it.
Now for Kei , the reasons behind whatever she did uptil V4 , was so that she could create the image of a strong person to ward off potential bullies from targetting her. She had a trauma from bullying in her middle school , and as that trauma left her vulnerable and unable to do anything against intimidation , it could provide opportunity for other girls to bully her after seeing her like that. In order to prevent that , she donned the bossy/bitch persona , and made sure that she kept all the girls with troublesome personalities close to her. As she herself stated , it didn't matter if others hated her , she didn't need youth or friends as long as she could protect herself. Most of Kei's close friends , as mentioned , were girls who could potentially bully others. She kept them near her so that they don't target her , which could result in her trauma being triggered , leading to her facade falling apart. Their class , in contrast to Ichinose's class , is full of girls with bad personalities like that. She used Hirata as a medium to climb up the hierarchy in order to achieve this.
Then comes V4. Kiyo noticed how her trauma triggered when she was subject to intimidation , and upon further information , set her up for bullying at Manabe's hands. She is left brok

Iβm due near the middle end of August; my husband and I havenβt told our families yet, weβre waiting until after the 12 week mark. The 12 week mark is about two weeks before my sister-in-lawβs baby shower.
Hereβs the tricky bit: no one on my side of the family, my brother and sister-in-law included, are vaccinated. The invitees are a smallish group, many of whom Iβve known since childhood, but I donβt know if theyβve been vaccinated or not either. Iβd wager a guess that theyβre not, considering the religious views of a majority of them.
I work in a grocery store, so itβs already bad enough that I have to go work a 40-hour week in the public. Thankfully all of my coworkers are vaccinated and my interactions with customers are fairly limited with almost zero physical contact. But at the baby shower, it will be indoors, in a small house. Part of me thinks I should make an appearance for the sake of my brother. Most of me thinks I should have a moral obligation to my little parasite (affectionate nickname) and decline, but perhaps meet up with them at some point before my niece arrives.
Any opinions on the matter?
Inspired by a post in ask science subreddit.
I'd never really thought about it but it seems to me that obligate pathogenic fungi are a rarity compared to say, bacteria, protists or multicellular parasites.
I couldn't really come up with any solid reasoning as to why this is. So, like the title says: why are fungal diseases so much less common and varied in animals? Any ideas or research?
Was seeing some interesting discussion in other threads about whether Harry should be censured for his genocide of the Red Court (and the Fellowship of St. Giles as an accidental backblow). Thought I'd gather it all here. Specifically...
Is there another way to stop the Red Court from devouring humans without slaying all Ramps?
Is such a peace even feasible at all? Red vampires appear to need to drink human blood to survive, they're unlikely to stop
Does "we don't like being predated upon" count as a good enough reason to wipe out all Red Court vampires?
Only a few ideas come to my mind...
Possibly the Sidhe can suppress the hunger demons enough that the Red Court isn't a factor any more. Uncertain whether they have enough power to do that in a realistic timeframe ... or what they'd charge for it.
We could set them up with an "unlimited withdrawal" privilege on local blood banks. I don't see the Reds willingly signing on to such a scheme, though.
We could accept that they will kill a certain number of people per year and shrug and say, "It's their culture". Not very satisfying.
Screw it. They're vampires. Deus vult!
So help me out, people. Is there a way to make peace with the Red Court, short of the peace of the grave?
Update: So far, I'm getting a lot of "Deus Vult"...
Update #2: Still "Deus Vult" in a landslide, with some good commentary about how to cope with intelligent creatures who "just happen" to be obligate human parasites...
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
At the end of the new Witch Queen gameplay it shows us that the new exotic SMG is called Osteo Striga. I thought this name was kind of interesting so I just looked up what those words meant on their own.
Osteo - relating to the bones.
Striga - a pointed appressed rigid hairlike scale or bristle | or commonly known as witchweed, is a genus of parasitic plants. They are obligate hemiparasites of roots and require a living host for germination and initial development.
The Striga plant looks eerily similar to those thrall in the original Witch queen showcase that looked to be covered in a white/green bone-like structure with those flowers growing from their mouths: Striga x thrall
Not sure if this will actually be how these thrall statues are created in game since that probably won't translate to PvP but it might be something that has to do with the lore of the gun.
Anyways just thought some of you guys might find this interesting.
The doctor says it terminal.
Forward: Zren, you have my explicit permission to post a recorded reading of this on YouTube.
Zhee'kree'ik cautiously waved her antennae as she poked her head out of the hatch of her shuttle. Smelling no poisonous odors, she stepped outside and took a deep breath, feeling the warm, humid air fill her abdomen. Seeing no immediate threats outside the damaged vessel, she signaled to her partner that it was safe to exit.
"What a lovely landing spot you've chosen, Zhee," said the male human as he stepped out after her, shading his soft, fluid-filled eyes from the light of the planet's sun. He stood nearly twice her height, and being from a considerably denser planet, she knew he was also quite a bit heavier than the square/cube law would suggest.
"Is that sarcasm, Tony?" The question was genuine. While the branching tymbal structure in her lower thorax was sufficient to reproduce most of the human's verbal language, it lacked the range of pitch that he could accomplish with his laryngeal structure. She therefore often found it difficult to pick up on those subtle pitch-shifts that so frequently altered - or even contradicted - the grammatical meaning of their statements.
"Only a little," Anthony replied. "It's terribly muggy, and I suspect we'll be eaten alive by whatever parasites are on this planet, but there are an awful lot of interesting plants around, and I am a botanist. So long as we agree not to spend the night out here, I'll keep my complaining to a minimum."
Zhee signaled her agreement, walking around the craft to inspect the damage. She found the offending component in short order; a heat tile on one of the thruster nacelles had seemingly not been secured properly. While the shuttle's safety systems had prevented it from cascading into a fireball, the resultant heat damage nonetheless rendered the thruster dysfunctional beyond repair.
"It's shot, isn't it?" The way Tony asked made it sound like it wasn't a question, but Zhee answered anyway.
"Yes, unfortunately. It looks like we'll be stuck here for longer than anticipated. Three weeks at least, assuming the Observatory can get a replacement engine before their orbit takes them close enough to this position again, or if they don't mind picking us up and worrying about the shuttle later."
"Six weeks, then. The bad news is that we only brought enough provisions for a week, and we don't know which plants are edible in this area. The good news is that we have a survival rifle, a fusion gen
