A list of puns related to "Nikolai Podgorny"
Alexei Kosigyn, the soon-to-be removed LibDem leader of Komi and definitely not Tsar Alexei in disguise, was born in St. Petersburg on February 21st 1904. His father sympathized with the Bolshevik cause, and at the age of 14 Alexei was conscripted into one of the Bolsheviks' "Labor Armies", which were essentially laborers who were drafted like soldiers and performed various manual labor tasks considered necessary. This not only makes him arguably a child soldier, but would mark the first of several periods in his life where he spent time in or advocated for institutions that would soon be deemed heretical by the Party. The Labor Armies had been advocated for, and to a large extend had been made what they were by Leon Trotksy.
After being demobilized in 1921, Kosigyn worked in a consumer co-operative in Novosibirsk. While an enthusiastic supporter of the idea, at one point quoting Lenin in support of the concept, he left in 1927 on the advice of the Old Bolshevik grey eminance Robert Eikhe, managing to avoid the first of Stalin's campaigns of repression against the mythical "kulaks" by just one year. He joined the CPSU that same year, and would rise rapidly during the Great Purge under the aegis of Leningrad Party boss Andrei Zhdanov. In 1938 he was appointed to the unnecessarily wordy position of Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Soviets of Working People's Deputies(yes, really) which functionally speaking made him the city's mayor. A year later he became the People's Commissar for Textiles and Industry, earning a seat on the Central Committee. During the war he oversaw the evacuation of territories threatened by the Axis, with over 1500 factories being transferred eastwards. He also helped in the construction of the Road of Life evacuation pipeline during the Siege of Leningrad, which is estimated to have evacuated roughly half a million people.
Following the war, his star continued to rise. During the famine of 1946-1947, caused by poor management, the prideful refusal of any Marshall Plan assistance and the Party's slavish devotion to Lysenkoism, he oversaw the regime's efforts at food relief missions. He became the Minister of Finance in 1948, and would join the Politburo that same year. But almost immediately after this his patron, Zhdanov would die. Zhdanov's rivals, Beria and Malenkov, moved to eradicate all traces of his influence, with Kosigyn being only a number of casualties alongside his fellow Komi leader Nikolai

Today, weβre going to showcase the political and economic pre-war trees for the Red Napoleon, as well as some surprises we have in store.
This is the Political and Economic Tree. Not the full tree. Don't worry
Tukhachevskyβs tree is dependent on two main issues. The first is the Grand Marshalβs successor. At the end of base TNOβs Tukhachevsky path, Marshal Dmitry Ustinov was promised leadership of the Soviet Union. However, the Presidium is planning to contest that and restore civilian government to the Soviet Union.
Haha funny Ace Attorney reference
The βTroikaβ of this Presidium are Nikolai Podgorny, Grigory Romanov and Viktor Chernomyrdin. While each has their own interests, they must work together if they want to maneuver around Marshal Ustinov and win the Grand Marshalβs favor.
On the opposite side, Ustinov must keep the loyalty of his generals in check and his relationship with Tukhachevsky stable. He must also find a way to deal with Podgorny and the Presidium quickly to secure his power from outside threats.
The Presidium is gonna have a bad time
Haha funny Meat Loaf Reference
The start of this power struggle happens when Tukhachevsky and Ustinov get into an argument over the place of the Presidium in the Soviet Union.
Which option you choose determines the fate of the Soviet Union forever
The next issue is one of economics.
[ Grand Marshal Tukhachevsky needs no economy! Unfortunately, starv

A lot of the political party information was included in the first post, but I figured I will add it here too since it is relevant, and I also some have adjustments to their information as well. The next part will be just about the USA and Germany, not the USSR, and the part after that will be just about the culture of the USSR.
Constitutional Reform, 1977-1978
Constitutional Convention, 1977
The Constitution of 1973 was designed mostly for the RSFSR, the Central Asian Republics, and the ASSRβs, but after the victory against Germany, the constitution and governmental structure needed serious overhaul to successfully integrate the various republics into the USSR. However, different groups had different visions of what the USSR and its republics should look like.
New republics in the USSR had populations which were often not opposed to friendship with the USSR, but wanted more independence. As a result, a new constitutional convention was created to decide upon how the various republics of the USSR would govern themselves, and what that would mean for the government of the USSR going forward. Many CPSU members wanted to resolve the question by creating a Soviet of Nationalities just like in the old USSR, but with perhaps more modifications to prevent Russian chauvinism and limited regional independence, all to keep the USSR as a federated entity. Centralization, in their view, was not a way to simply impose their dictates upon the rest of the population, but a way of preventing infighting, splits, and competition that they claimed would come from decentralization. Furthermore, it was the best way to economically coordinate reconstruction and economic planning, where decentralization, in their view, could lead to individualized economic planning for each republic, creating vast disparities in standards of living and economic development. In contrast, decentralization into a confederation of sovereign republics was viewed as a way of maintaining the stability of the USSR and of socialism as a whole, so that no one was able to feel dominated by one side or another. Each republic could pursue their political and economic paths with some independence while stil

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

This is part of a timeline history I am writing where Zhukov and Batov peacefully unified, Sablin fought Novosibrsk and won, and Sablin led this new USSR to total victory against the Germans in the Russian-German War of 1974-77. After the elections of 1978, Sablin retired and the county was governed by President Nikolai Podgorny (the presidency replaced general secretary's role in the Constitution of 1973) until his death in 1983. Sechon Petura governs the country now as part of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
The USSR is a member of the OFN and has very friendly relations with the USA, as both see an alliance as economically and militarily beneficial, since the Nazi bloc still exists and the Japanese Empire still holds power in most of Asia. While President Harrington was probably the most enthusiastic supporter of the USSR, especially during the beginning of the war against the Germans, President Howard Baker seeks to continue the good relations with the USSR. The USSR's economy is Bukharinist with a modified version of the NEP, mainly to help keep the OFN on their good side and to help their economy recover from decades of war and occupation (Note: this isn't exactly Dengism or Market Socialism, but more like a combination of Marxism-Leninist planned economics with some small businesses and privately owned companies, and much of the the state-owned economy receives investments from the OFN, with probably about 85-90% of the USSR's economy under state control).
The Constitution of 1973 was produced through a combination of heated debate and unsatisfactory compromises, and the drafting process threatened to split the CPSU entirely! Defenders say that the constitution creates the basis for a "socialist democracy" that is flexible enough to satisfy most while remaining committed to socialism, but it certainly has its fair share of critics, since much of the constitutional language was left vague due to disagreements and some of its intended effects don't pan out in reality. It was an attempt to combine liberal democracy with the Soviets, and while it tries to create a democracy that can operate on consensus and pragmatic compromise instead of partisanship and electioneering, critics on both the left and the right say that the constitution needs reform. On the left, critics say that the constitution should be more sp
