A list of puns related to "Nick Drake"
This song was on my weekly suggestions on spotify, and even though I like his music I had to just stop the song because it was so disturbing for me to listen to. The reason is the guitar (and basically the whole songs) being predominantly mixed to the left speaker.
I have never reacted this way to music before (cannot remember if I have heard similar mixes), so I was curious if it is only me, or if other people also have a hard time listening to that.

Truly a artist ahead of his time. Iβve still not heard music quite like his, itβs crazy that in his short time that he was alive he went completely almost unnoticed. I believe Nickβs music is a must listen for everybody, his sound was so unique, especially for the time. His lyrics being melancholy, contrasted by his beautiful uplifting melodies with his calm soothing vocals. Thereβs something special about it all, some sort of incredible, supernatural presence that leaves a magical feeling to the listener. His guitar work is beyond incredible, and inspiring. Itβs influenced my playing a lot, the alternate tunings he would use and his mastery of the fretboard was uncommon for the time. There was nothing like it during the time, and still to this day. Listening to his music for the first time I remembered how shocked I was that it was made in the early 70s/late 60s. I wanted to make this post to sort of remember Nick and celebrate his music. We should all share and talk about his music, share some of our favorite tracks, and just remember him and his music.
I thought it was something like E B B E B B
I have a snippet of a song stuck in my head but I can't get the lyrics exactly right; the song is in minor with I believe softer fingerpicked guitar and softer vocals but a little fast-paced, and the lyrics go something like "I never had thing to saaa-ay-ay-ay" or "I'll never find another wa-a-a-y" (can't remember them exactly). I've skimmed through a bunch of Jose Gonzalez and Nick Drake songs but can't find a match and can't find a match googling those lyrics either. It could be mid-2000s or could be older like 60s/70s. I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of the song, like the first lines.
Here is my mediocre whistled version of what I remember although the last note is slightly off: https://voca.ro/1hVKen13lkuL
Preferably a modern version of this type of music. I'm already listening to The Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, Andrew Bird and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
So, looking to pick up these records that I've struggled to find in stores. Checking in here before deep diving on discogs. Generally not looking for recent represses. Must be at least VG.

Not sure if others know his music, but I've always empathized with him greatly. I've never seen him mentioned in regard to STPD, but in my opinion he's the best "famous" example of us.
A singer-songwriter, folk musican from 1969-1974. who unfortunately took his own life at age 26.
Doctors suggested he may be schizophrenic but was ultimately diagnosed with major depressive disorder and was prescribed tricyclic antidepressants, which he used to kill himself.
Never had any serious romantic relationships, people described him as eccentric and as if he was experiencing life as an observer rather than a participant.
"I was born to love no one No one to love me Only the wind in the long green grass The frost in a broken tree.
I was made to love magic All its wonder to know But you all lost that magic Many many years ago.
I was born to use my eyes Dream with the sun and the skies To float away in a lifelong song In the mist where melody flies.
I was made to love magic...
I was born to sail away Into a land of forever Not to be tied to an old stone grave In your land of never.
I was made to love magic..."

They are:
River Man (because, well, dunno)
From the Morning (Don't ask me why, I have no idea. It just hits hard.)
Place to Be (also the lyrics, especially 'Now I'm weaker than the palest blue/ Oh so weak in this need for you.)
What are yours? They don't need to make you physically cry, just inwardly sob.
Just discovered Nick Drake. What can you tell me about him?
