Legal Experts Say Trump Just Committed Witness Tampering on Twitter
THE GIST:
>Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference and Trump has zeroed in on Stone as a possible tie between Russia and the Trump campaign, investigating whether he had advance knowledge that WikiLeaks would publish thousands of emails stolen from Democrats by Russian hackers.
>On Sunday’s This Week on ABC, Stone vowed not to testify against Trump. “Nice to know that some people still have ‘guts!'” Trump tweeted in response. >On Monday morning, the president took to Twitter to praise Stone, his longtime political adviser and associate, for refusing to speak to Mueller’s team.
Trump tweeted:
>“I will never testify against Trump.” This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have “guts!”
>A number of legal experts from both sides of the aisle have said the president’s tweet could represent an illegal attempt to influence a witness in the special counsel’s investigation. George Conway, a longtime conservative lawyer and vocal Trump critic who is married to presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway, suggested the message violated portions of the US code governing witness tampering and obstruction of justice:

Hey everyone,
Anyone have any experiences with this company fucking them over? For instance, here are some of my experiences. Not receiving a raise over the course of years (and then when they finally did it was inconsequential), working with other people who should have been fired for multiple infractions (such as consistently being late, stealing from the company, and sexual harassment), and being told we have to come into work 15 minutes early for a change of shift meeting , but then being told we will not be paid for those 15 minutes and that we can’t write it on our time sheets (which unfortunately coincided with the aforementioned employee always being late).
I could go on and on. This company praises itself as a pinnacle of social justice, but clearly doesn’t give a shit about its workers.
For anyone who is looking for post-undergraduate or summer internship opportunities, NIH currently has openings.
https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/sip
https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/postbac_irta
There are plenty of PIs looking for students interested in developing software for bioinformatics / biostatistics. I know this because I'm one the investigators who is recruiting students for this type of research :D -- we're looking for students interested in developing machine learning methods for microbiome / metabolomics meta-analysis.
The postbac deadline is coming up fast (1/31/2022), with a zoom information session on Jan 12th 3pm ET at https://nih.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJItd--pqD4rGYguRUHBzfalIOfLqegNMsM. And there is another summer internship zoom information session on Jan 5th 3pm ET at https://nih.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJItc-CppjIjE2_U_cNlbfprH3-WbgFwCMc
So if you are interested, take a look and apply! And feel free to follow up with any questions :)
EDIT : this is for the summer internship / postbac program in general -- there are something like 30k scientists at NIH from a bunch of different backgrounds that look into this application pool.
