A list of puns related to "Mot Test"
Does anybody else have this issue??? I live in a rural area & people donβt believe in the severity of covid. I have dozens of encounters every shift with guests buying or looking for at home covid tests & they never wear a mask. It makes me see red with rage. Iβm ready to walk out and quit this garbage dumpster fire job. Target once again putting profits over people. Theyβre only selling tests because itβs a cash-grab, they donβt give an actual fuck about covid. Every one of my team members has been out sick with covid at least once, and nobody is doing anything to help prevent it.
Quick question my MOT expire next week book one few weeks ago. But test will be at the end of March 2022 !. Can I still drive my car while waiting for appointment? Car serviced and ready for MOT.
Would a tester always fail you for an engine light. Appears we have a false positive error code
Hi all, my car failed it's MOT last week and I'm really struggling to find the required parts in stock. The official UK supplier of the OEM part has quoted me 'early December' as the delivery date. No idea if this is COVID related logistics issue, or a totally unrelated stocking issue.
There are other cheaper / inferior quality parts available but it seems a little tough to be forced into a situation where in order to save the Β£45 test fee, I have to fit the lesser but available part.
I know there was a blanket extension to MOT times during the initial COVID lockdown(s) but understand this has all elapsed.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!
So my car hasnβt gotten much use at all this year as my circumstances changed but I just passed my driving test and ready to get it on the road but itβs due itβs MOT and Iβm not too confident it will pass (because of the lack of driving).
Given that I might need to pay for repairs I donβt want to fork out for a new expensive insurance policy if itβll just sit there again.
Can I just buy temporary insurance for the day and see how the MOT goes? Or do I need to fully insure to take it for the MOT?
Thanks in advance

This happened yesterday with my 54 reg Honda Jazz, and I wasn't sure who or where else to ask.
Are the same 4 major defects that were allegedly repaired last year likely to have developed again within a year (in less than 1500 miles)? Excessive corrosion doesn't sound like something that can happen quickly but then I know next to nothing about the workings of a car.
Any thoughts/recommendations before I speak to the garage again? Obviously I'm without transport right now so want to get this resolved as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.
My car has very little fuel booked in for an MOT test. Reason for this is the cause of standing for a few months. The car is insured but doesn't have tax at the moment because it hasn't been MOT'd. Am I within my rights to get the car filled up with fuel first? I'm asking this question because once before issued a fine by police officer why not going directly to the MOT garage test. And also I'm concerned about the ANPR cameraat the petrol station flagging up my number plate to receive a fine later.
A couple of weeks back I was pulled over by the police as apparently my tyre was 'busted', the officer measured the inner tread line of the tyre, the first measurement was lower, the second was within the legal limit and then asked me to measure the inner line, bearing in mind that I haven't used the tread tool before and used my measurement which was lower. Despite the majority of the tyre being within legal limit he still gave me the fine.
So I took the car for an early MOT with the same tyres and it passed with advisories that the tyre was near the legal limit on the nearside of the tyre. So I wrote a letter explaining what happened and sent a copy of the MOT and after a few days I received a reply that it was not enough to mitigate the fine,
So now I am left with two options, to pay the fine of Β£100 and 3 points or go to court.
I am considering going to court as I really don't want 3 points on my licence, according to the guy at the MOT station as long as 75% of the tyre is within the legal limit it's fine.
Not sure what to do would appreciate some advice.
Hello friends,
About two years ago I started to get pain in my upper right abdomen and light yellow stools. My doctor ran some tests (CT and Ultrasound) and while nothing was diagnosed, I am fairly certain I have a fatty liver. Since then, I have cut down alcohol dramatically (probably about 2-3 drinks/week, went a few months with absolutely zero) but my diet wasnβt the best. It has been a while since I have had any tests done. My doctor is not concerned at all and thinks itβs nothing, possibly Gilbertβs syndrome. My family thinks I am crazy for thinking my liver is harmed. I am not overweight at all (6ft 140, was 160 before covid hit) and exercise. I did consume about 4 units of alcohol nightly for about 4 years. What should I do?
Best,
Durden
Hi, the style of the MOT certificate seems to have changed.
It now lists: βRepair as soon as possible (minor defects)β. It says the car has passed. It has a couple of advisories too. The minor defects are:
Windscreen damaged but not adversely affecting driver's view (3.2 (a) (i)) Nearside Rear Inner Position lamp with a multiple light source up to 1/2 not functioning (4.2.1 (a) (i)) Offside Front Tyre obviously under inflated (5.2.3 (l))
Iβm not even sure what the windscreen damage is because I canβt see any damage. He claimed there was a chip in it but I canβt see it.
The light he also claimed that one of the two bulbs in the headlight is not working. Again I canβt see anything wrong. Iβve tested all the various light combinations but still canβt see what he means because the bulbs all seem to be working.
Do I legally have to get these fixed now? Or can I leave them (apart from the tyre which just needs pumping up.
Edit: resolved the light situation. Iβm a bell end because I was looking at the headlights not the rear.
Got mine later today so thought Iβd ask !
