I started running by hobbie a few years ago - to do something different - and of course over time i started to lose weight.
My body started to be on fit. I was feeling better with myself.. Most of the clothes I had I threw away because they were big. I went from size L to S. The thing his now everytime I look at the mirror I see a very handsome man. Attractive and good looking in so many ways... but empty inside .. alone. This builds conflict on my head - handsome and in shape but at the same time confused questioning why am I alone... with nobody by my side. Just a few hours ago I look at the mirror and tears started to drop from my eyes... Even with direct compliments I dont control myself... like "your are a nice guy" "you are friendly".. yop I know I am.. but .. shit.. I am so alone.
This leaves to the question that the beauty is not in the looks.... but inside... but damn.. I am also a nice guy... I dont break a shard. what Am i missing? Its very confusing. Confidence? I think I have.. enough... but I dont know .. Social interactions? I have a good social life.. well it could be better.
I dont know if ths sub is the correct place. Just wanna share my thoughts with you and probably try to improve myself with your thoughts/advices and get over this in some way. Thanks for reading.
If I were to play with the famous quote, like instead of βa health mind in a healthy bodyβ I meant βan unhealthy mind in an unhealthy bodyβ in latin, Mens Insana in Corpore Insano would be grammatically correct?
Freemasonry is hard work for your mind. Like any hard work, in able to do it most effectively, you should use the best tools. If you were to be building a wall would you prefer well kept, sharp, durable tools or rusty, neglected, mud-caked tools?
Mens sana in corpore sano is latin for "A healthy mind in a healthy body". We have the scientific backing to show that exercise and healthy body weight can: reduce stress and boost positive thinking, improve positive self image, prevent cognitive decline, alleviate anxiety, create new brain cells, sharpen memory for that degree work, help fight or recover from addiction, and increase pain tolerance when working together in groups.
All of these things can help us become better men, better sons, fathers, brothers, community members, and a great many of them can significant help in the journey of Freemasonry.
So look in the mirror today. Are you really doing the best you can do? Don't let excuses creep up at this point. We're all busy. But we can (mostly) all wake up 30 minutes earlier, or take the stairs instead of the elevator, or choose a healthier lunch and dinner, or cut back on our drinking, or do any number of things that will make us healthier humans and make the temple that is our body better fit for pursuing our goals.
Is your body a reflection of your values or the exception to them?

And you? Like me, when you look at the mirror you see a wonderful person and questioning why am I alone? Or like so many.. you have hard times when looking at the mirror ... being difficult to see what its reflected?
