A list of puns related to "Mcp"
As we enter a second week of discovering no bus service less than an hour before weβre supposed to send our kids out to catch said buses, MCPS really needs to start rotating this pain/inconvenience.
My kidsβ bus lines have been consistently impacted. Weβve gone from a happy bus household, to juggling dropping off two kids to two different schools during morning rush hour. Not to mention weβre in the DCC, so this involves multiple drives by the Beltway, and itβs on ramp back-ups. This blows. Iβm ready to be maliciously compliant with MCPSβs liberal leave policy, whereby kids wonβt be marked absent due to lack of bus service. Rotate the inconvenience, MCPS.
End rant.
Here is the full letter from MCPS. In pertinent part it says:
βPossible Future Transitions to Virtual Learning To determine if any individual schools will transition to virtual learning in the future, MCPS will be looking at trends in: staff absences; unfilled substitute teacher requests; student absences; unserved bus routes; and positive case rates for students and staff over a 10-day period. See a visual example of these key factors. When a school is high in multiple areas as compared with other schools, MCPS will confer with the Department of Health and Human Services and then convene a team including central office representatives, the schoolβs principal, staff representatives, and parent leaders at the school. This team will make a recommendation to the Superintendentβs Cabinet.β
According to this statement, I believe theyβre saying: βAs long as the metrics are equally dismal and unsafe across all schools, we wonβt even look at any school to determine whether any school should move to virtual learning.β
Got the text alert that 90 bus routes are unable to be serviced this morning due to drivers calling out. Iβm guessing they tested positive for COVID or have symptoms. I think people forget that schools need support staff just as much as they need teachers. I know Iβm in the minority here but I really wish MCPS would go virtual for two weeks. Yes, I get it, not all parents can stay home but I believe trying to push through this surge is going to lead to more community spread which will lead to schools eventually going virtual even longer than two weeks.
On Wednesday, January 5, Montgomery County Public Schools handed out masks to MCPS staff. While these masks are marked "non-medical", they also are marked as KN95s, showing that they supposedly meet the Chinese standard of capturing 95% of tiny particles.
Up until mid-2021, the CDC maintained a site that lists all the non-NIOSH-approved masks on the market, and gives the ratings that they were able to find when they tested these masks. In many cases, these CDC tests showed that some masks actually only captured a much smaller percentage of particles than were claimed. I was curious to see if the masks that MCPS provided were rated highly by the CDC.
The masks provided by MCPS are labeled as Shenzhen Ende Medical Technology, manufactured by Shenzhen Enbide Electronic Technology, with the product line saying they are KN95 GB2626-2006 Non-medical EN-05 masks. However, when you try to look this mask type up on the CDC site, the company does not come up at all.
At first, I thought this was because the CDC stopped doing the tests a few months ago, and maybe this company only just now started making masks. But they were making masks as early as March 2022 2020 according to the FDA. So why did the CDC not ever bother testing this company's masks?
It turns out that in April 2020, the CDC caught the company falsifying records where they claimed to be NIOSH approved. While I can't say for sure that this is the reason why the CDC never bothered to test their masks afterward, it is suggestive that they tested hundreds of different masks and never once bothered to test any of this company's masks over the past two years.
While this in no way should be taken to mean that the masks that were distributed are necessarily bad, it does show that the company making them are acknowledged as mask counterfeiters by the CDC in the past, and that the CDC never even bothered testing the masks to see if they held up to their claims.
(I tweeted about this as I was researching this a few moments ago, if you're interested in seeing what the MCPS twitterverse had to say about it.)

Montgomery County Public Schools sent the following message to parents and students on Sunday afternoon:
" Dear MCPS Community,
The past week has been extremely challenging for everyone in our community. Evolving COVID-19 guidance, bus staffing shortages and inclement weather caused disruptions to teaching and learning and school operations. While the circumstances leading to these disruptions are beyond our control, we should have done a better job communicating with you about these challenges and clarifying our response. I apologize for any stress this caused our staff, students, and community members.
The health and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We continue to believe that in-person learning is the best way to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of our students and will continue to prioritize keeping our school buildings open. Switching any school to virtual learningβeven for a short period of timeβwill be a last resort and that decision will be based on the best information available and the guidance of national, state, and local health professionals.
The remainder of this message outlines what steps we are taking to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families; updates to school operations; and when we will consider switching a school to virtual learning. This includes information about:
The distribution of KN-95 masks and rapid test kits to all students and staff;
New isolation and quarantine procedures for staff, based on revised guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC); and
An update on school operations, including bus service and the resumption of extracurricular activities;
An upcoming community conversation to discuss school system operations; and
How you can help us make informed decisions about keeping schools open.
*I know that many of our families are struggling with the impact of the pandemic right now, and that includes my family: I tested positive for COVID-19 early last week. Thankfully, my symptoms have been mild, and I am working at home while isolating.Β Together, I know we can make it through this difficult time. Our community is strong and ou

Edited for clarity: today the boe changed the mandate they created on how to decide what school should be going virtual in order to stop transmission of the virus. This was a policy they created and explained on January 3rd. As a teacher I see the clear impact that virtual learning had on most of our students last year and I am a firm believer that it is not ideal. However, changing to a 14-day virtual system would greatly reduce the numbers and control the spread. It would also allow MCPS to get us actual KN95 masks.
βHi everyone! Hopefully you saw the message from MCPS stating that they are completely disregarding the percentages previously set to determine if a school needs to go virtual because of high Covid cases. MCEA leadership needs our help. Please email the board, and county council. MCEA is meeting with them at three and our voices need to be heard!β

Hello All!
Christmas this year saw me being gifted the MCP starter set and Venom from my wife. Really excited to start playing the game properly (played with the starter stuff a couple of times to get my head around the rules).
Growing up I loved the Spiderman cartoon in the 90s and favourite character was always Venom, so with that in mind I've decided I want to lean into the Web Warriors affiliation. So I picked up Miles and Gwen at my LGS and I really like the control/objective based strategy they seem to lean towards as a group.
So I was wondering if I could get some advice on:
1 where to go next in terms of characters? 2 any advice from experienced players when using these? 3 any resources online I can read/listen to to get a better understanding of the affiliation?
Thanks in advance!
Some changes in my life have left me with less time than Iβd need for full scale games mixed with some unexpected expenses

Hi community I am wanting to get started on MCP to play probably on the more casual side with friends and my wife. Myself and the friends that will be playing are very familiar with table top mini games and to an extent so is my wife. I am working on what I want to get for my first comp and I have come up with the following
Star Lord She-hulk Dr. Strange Angela Rocket Groot Scarlet Witch Blade Moon knight Gamora
I am still reading through online resources but wanted to get an outside opinion on these heroβs. I am a fairly competitive player at heart so I am mixing in heroβs that I like with ones that I think are good.
Any suggestions are appreciated as well as best first steps into the hobby.

Hello folks,
As I'm going through flight training and have some quick questions I'm hoping you can help me out with as I study here:
First on the list is why we care about % MCP? What does it mean to us in the air (or on the ground planning?). I'm going through Kings online ground school and they breeze over it giving only the simple explanation that it's "maximum brake horsepower"... which means pretty much nothing to me.
Thanks in advance folks!
