With how much 343 has redeemed the MCC in the last few years, I feel like they could use their wizardry to bring new life to Halo 2 and Halo CE content.
As it stands on Xbox, people can just hit their clip button to save moments from H2 and HCE. Unfortunately for peeps on pc that don't have OBS running 24/7 in the background, a lot of HCE and H2 content becomes dust(and echos) in the wind.
The ability to also fly around the map and change perspectives or watch other player's movements would be truly next level😖
What do you guys think?

I've managed to salvage most of my screenshots from the halo.bungie.net shutdown today, but I'm not sure how to save any of the Theater Mode saves. Are they impossible to import onto PC MCC?
I knew there was a big import from halo.bungie.net a while back, but that was before PC MCC even HAD theater mode, so I don't think theater mode clips were included?
Any help is much appreciated, it would be nice to finally see the MVP match I had when I was 10 one more time...
Back in the day before Bungie left... I used to do lots of theater mode work as a hobby, I helped people with machinima making, and even rewatched some stuff for gags. I used to have a load of save files of old matches, old body acting works, and other fun stuff during matchmaking. But this Theater mode in MCC is a sham and it needs to be fix.
There is no way to save the file for later use, you want to do some halo video? You gotta start recording a scene instantly when you're done, cause there's no telling when it gets deleted. Rewinding a certain scene is difficult cause sometimes it brings ya all the way back to the beginning of the whole clip and that can be an issue if you did a big body acting session, course to deal with this you gotta be careful how you press the button to rewind a bit but we shouldn't have to do that at all, we should have the option to rewind at certain points of the clip. Not these segments.
We need Theater mode back the way it used to be, not this sham of what 343 has made, just when I was starting to enjoy the game without much flaws and now that I'm back working on this kind of stuff, this, this pathetic version of Theater mode is unacceptable and needs one serious patch and overhaul, I'm surprised it never got fixed sooner.

I know people enjoy HALO for the stories, Matchmaking and custom gaming, but there are those like me who enjoy making videos and making stories, but we need Theater mode to do this and we need it how it use to be, not how it is now. This sham version of Theater made makes that too difficult and needs just as much attention as the rest of HALO MCC.
I went to films in temporary files and I can’t select a film to watch from a game I played about an hour earlier. The only option there is, is Remove

I come here looking for help: I want to save a clip from a very good match I just had but I can't figure out how to save the clip. Can anyone explain to me how to save clips?
I have lost a lot of good clips due to this problem I have but this one is not one I want to loose, plz help.
So you can't rewind or skip back at all in theater mode? I remember back on the 360 version (maybe it was in the Xbox One version too) of Halo 3, ODST, and Reach, if you hit left on the D-Pad it would skip back a few seconds in case you played a little too far and wanted to go back. But it doesn't do that and no key bindings or controller buttons that show to rewind or skip back in the settings. Very disappointing that they released theater mode on PC with no rewind or skip back. Makes me not want to use theater at all when I've been fast forwarding a clip to get to a certain part in a 40 min video clip and skipped a little to far ahead to find out I can't rewind back. Very inconvenient. If this was already addressed by 343i in a blog post or something, please let me know. Thank you.
If you're a newer player like me and stuck trying to improve at multiplayer does watching your matches in theater mode really help you improve or is it better to just keep grinding even if you really don't see much improvement?

This is what you will see if done correctly;
Things you will need:
- HxD
- Halo MCC
- eyes
Now for the tutorial:
- Locate and open the MCC-WindowsNoEditor.pak file in HxD. This should be located in "...\gamedir\MCC\Content\Paks\"
- In HxD press Ctrl+G and paste in the offset "30A7FA10" (Forge)
- Change the 8F to 93
- Press Ctrl+G again and paste in the offset "30A7FDD1" (Theater)
- Change the 96 to 93
- Save
For those of you running a loose load:
- Locate and open DT_SettingsOptionsData.uexp in HxD. This should be located at "...\gamedir\MCC\Content\UI\Features\Settings\"
- In HxD press Ctrl+G and paste in the offset "11DB" (Forge)
- Change the 8F to 93
- Press Ctrl+G again and paste in the offset "159C" (Theater)
- Change the 96 to 93
- Save
That's all there is, pretty simple.
This works with MCC version 1.1389.0.0 (latest version at time of post). This may not work on newer versions as the offsets will change.
I apologize if this breaks the rules or is considered a leak. I will remove this post at the request of 343 or mods if they so choose to ask me to do so.
I’ve found my temporary files, and the option to remove them. But can’t figure out how to save them to my HDD.
I've been wondering why all of my games weren't saving- I'd have a moment I'd like to watch again in Theater, go to check my films at the end of my MCC session and discover almost none of my games from the day had been saved.
I thought they were being saved and deleted randomly, but upon further testing it seems that a .mov file is only created in your MCC Appdata folder if you go to Theater mode immediately after the game is done. Beyond the 12 file temporary limit, there seems to be an invisible 1 game "buffer" of sorts that only stores the most recent game you played.
Obviously, this is a problem if you're on a roll and want to stay in matchmaking with your friends thinking you can go check your films after you're done playing. The way temporary films worked on the 360 gave you much more leeway to keep playing (not to mention the fact you could easily just save films to watch later)
So I’m playing mcc on Xbox and I’d like to go through clips of my past couple of games but and I go to files and look at the saved videos it only gives me the option to delete them. What do I do.

Title. Reach is awesome. Having to save one particular angle of one particular video among the last twelve games I played with no option at all to use my own external storage to save full interactive films - a staple feature of every post Halo 2 Bungie game - is disappointing.
Is it common for the theater to stop recording in the middle of a game? None of the custom games I’ve played have had the whole game recorded, it always cuts out half ways in or so.
Anyone else have issues with theater mode in MCC not saving recent games? You can always see your most recent game, but any games past that are almost never listed. Is my xbox automatically deleting them? If so is there a way i can stop it from doing so? The ability to review the footage for game adjustments or unique angles for montages is basically gone unless i quit out after every game.
