A list of puns related to "Proscenium"
I'm fairly new to the game and try to improve by studying cards why the are used/underused. The Light card "Panrthene Proscenium" popped in my mind: A 5/5 with Protected, Ward and The Ability to heal either heal each friendly character for 3 OR give the weakest creature +3 strength.
Why is the win rate of the card that bad? Did I miss something and the card is not able to attack since it's a structure (but not mentioned at the card text)?

A nice check-in on Akua. Intro seemed a little long to me, like it could have been slotted in better, but either way it's a good look into the state of Praesi politics during Cat's absence - that absence being a fact which is easy to overlook during the Arcadia segment, muh as Cat and co. seem to do themselves.
I was happy to catch that Akua's First Mage was her father before he was onscreen, having noticed the classic trick wherein an ostensibly new character is introduced solely by their title and then thought around by the viewpoint character. He's been pretty enjoyable, both here and in his last appearance. I'm looking forward to seeing what our Diabolist is cooking up, with such powerful fuel. I suspect tge use of fae as sacrifices will have some unforeseen effects, particularly as we seem to be very early in this book.
Judging by the state of Praes proper, I get the feeling that we'll be heading into the Uncivil Wars soon. This definitely feels like a short period of relative stability as everyone lays forth the groundwork for what is to come. I don't have any good guesses as to what the aftermath will look like, though.
Proscenium Arch is a modern day, supernatural-based roleplay. We are a brand new site, but all of the staff are veteran RPers and we have a great base of RPers already established. There are several subplots already afoot, in addition to overarching plots for each individual species.
Welcome to Richmond, Virginia.
The birthplace of the beasts, where pathways diverge and dark secrets stir below the surface. Careful to keep the act going. Careful to stay on script. The last thing anyone wants is to give away the charade.
Our RP is set in 2019, and we are currently accepting humans, witches/warlocks, wizards, vampires, werewolves, and fae; we have our own simple, specific lore and plots for each group. The story will continue to unfold as these groups intertwine around each other and stir up trouble in what was once a peaceful city.
We're currently one week old, with plenty of open characters and faces, but with a great base of writers already on their way. We're also very open to new subplots and ideas from our member base, and actively encourage each other's want ads to promote cross-plotting.
We have a very active discord group that you are welcome to join ( https://discord.gg/zJqd2TD ) if you want to get to know us or ask any questions! PMs to this account are also welcomed.
So, I was inspired by this response from a fellow redditor on a thread that I had answered to that they hated theatre in the round since she did not like the fact that actors did not have sets upstage or downstage (I have no idea what that means, so....yeah) and they did not like the stadium style seating or the audience surrounding her and she felt that the proscenium theatre was more cleaner than theatre in the round. I want to know why you prefer one over the other or neither and why. I like both, but I donโt think that theatre in the round is dirtier than the proscenium type theaters. I would like to hear your guysโ opinions related to this topic. PS I know the majority of broadway theatres are proscenium and most of the theatres in the round are off broadway or off off broadway, so I want to know what your opinions of those are too.
I've obviously googled this but I'm not super experienced with theatre so a lot of the explanations I've uncovered include some confusing/unclear terminology
I am doing a generic lighting design on a visualizer for a proscenium house. It's just a big stage and none of the houses this will be in have any CAD model other than a PDF. I am not used to this new visualizer I am using (realizzer) but I would like to emulate the look and feel of a proscenium opening and dark wing space. The stages are about 35' wide on average but even that doesn't matter.
Thanks!
I'm lighting designing a musical set in the 1950s. Something I've noticed seeing West End musicals is that they tend to have a row of moving lights on a vertical bar just hidden behind the proscenium which are used at the end of the songs to project beams up into the audience.
I wondered if anyone here had done the same thing, and if so whether you thought it worked?
It's a toss-up for me as to whether they break the illusion of the play being a story because they have no reason to exist other than looking cool, and aren't motivated by the action.
We don't have the budget for 8 extra moving lights, but we do have enough spare conventional profiles and scrollers for them. Do you think they could pull off the same effect?
Thanks for any help
