Can a pepper mash include other ingredients?

Hi guys, so I was thinking of trying out a pepper mash the next time I ferment some hot sauce. I was thinking of making a berry habanero sauce, and I wanted to know if I could include the chopped up berries in my pepper mash. Would that ruin it or have any weird side effects? I've never worked with a mash before.

You asked for sauces in progress? This is just habaneros, salt, and garlic. I would have used an onion if had one. First is the ingredients... when ready, I blended it but did not strain. It’s a mash and it’s SO good (half gone). Third photo is the brine remaining, which I drink. reddit.com/gallery/n5gg3r

Do not throw away bananas, if they turn brown or black, instead, use them to make banana bread. Do you know overripe fruits are sweeter and easier to mash? To make it tastier, add cocoa nibs, coffee, or dried fruit slices. Find other ingredients that you could use to make bread tastier.

Mish mash with extra ingredients - worth it?

I've got about 7-8 different grains, specialty malts, etc. left over from the past few batches. Probably about $50 worth. They're all milled, so have a limited shelf life at this point. Is it a terrible idea to throw them together and see what happens? It can't taste that bad, right...?

update: a sample of what I have includes Carafa I, CaraMunich II, CaraAroma, Dark Munich, oat and wheat adjuncts, and quite a bit of Vienna malt.

Ferment all ingredients together vs. pepper mash

Hi everyone. First time fermenter here. I am wondering if there is a difference or tradeoffs in fermenting all ingredients together (peppers, garlic, fruit, etc.) compared to just creating a fermented pepper mash and adding the other ingredients when you blend.

Thanks.

Picked up ingredients for my first partial mash brew!

So I went to the nearby lhbs and picked up ingredients for a basic English Brown Ale.

Β£33 for Amber LME, "Medium" DME (recipe said amber, guy in store said medium was ok) 500g crystal malt (crushed) brown ale yeast, 100g willamete hops.

Does that seem like a good price?

I just need to get a stainless steel pot to brew in now. Anyone from the UK know a good source?

Can't wait to attempt this brew!

My all grain to partial mash conversions are very watery with a slightly metallic taste, more likely a problem with process or ingredients?

I've now brewed two batches that were originally all grain that were then converted to partial mash. Both recipes came out very watery, with no body or mouth feel, no head, and a slight chalky or metallic after taste. All of the preassembled kits I've made, the ciders, and the skeeter pee have turned out great and been very drinkable. I'm trying to figure out if this is something I'm doing wrong, or a recipe flaw. I'll post the recipe here and answer any questions about my process. As far as I know, I do a basic partial mash, the temps are good for the brew and fermentation.

I should note, this is one of the two recipes. I no longer have the recipe for first one I made, either all grain or partial mash, but the first one was a ginger hibiscus wheat beer where as this is a coconut brown ale. The taste of the two brews was shockingly similar which made me wonder what the hell was going on.

Adding ingredients to Traditional Stout Partial Mash

I have a $25 coupon for a kit from midwest (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/partial-mash-traditional-stout.html)

I want to up the chocolate flavor in the stout and get the smoothness of an oatmeal stout in there.

I was thinking about adding an extra pound of chocolate malt and a pound of flaked oats (or another type of oats). http://hopville.com/recipe/1640614 is what it would look like.

Would that be too much Chocolate malt? Would I be better off adding just .5# additional chocolate malt?

This will be my second homebrew, first partial mash.
Thanks.
