A list of puns related to "Margit"
Put these foolish ambitions to rest.
Finally actually went through and watched the bosses in the CNT, and based off of Margits dialogue I think there is a 0% chance we arenβt fighting him again
What do you guys think?
I know a lot of people have joking just said he's a Ghru boss, but I actually love his look. Bomb as hell. Really reminds me of the kind of "mysterious vagabond looking at you from a cliff" vibe, and his fighting style only reinforces that for me.
Maybe no one else cares, but I kinda of hope that there's some gear in game that lets you steal his look a bit. I love ragged cloaks and twisted horns, so I hope I can get something at least kind of similar.
My man is going to be a huge character, I can smell the tragedy.
I feel like Margit and the hands of the Omen will play major role in one of the endings of Elden Ring, sorta like the usurpation of fire from DS3 where new flame isn't kindled but stolen instead.
They might want the Erdtree to die as it's the source of some sort of disease/corruption.
I assume Margit was abandoned by the royal family, given his birthmarks. I also think that we simply fought his illusion on the bridge given how he appeared on that one tower, it was a warning for us to stay away from the Elden Ring.
Include your class if you wish. Wanted to gauge average attempts.
Do you guys realise that margit is an early game boss ? An early game boss with that many attacks and looks amazing i canβt imagine the end game bosses
Guys, I just thought about this and seems plausible to me. What if the ominous sign that came with the birth of Margit was a kind of prophecy that foretold that Godrick would betray the royal family and this led to Godfrey or the whole family to reject Godrick. Combining this with the "lesser" powers that Godrick had since birth, this would be a likely cause of him resenting the family and coveting a greater power, leading to, ultimately, his treason.
I just really like his design. And I hope we can get his staff as a boss weapon. A bonking stick with a sword moveset is all I've ever wanted.
How do you guys feel about the fabulous goat boi?
This game is so brutally difficult lads, it feels NOTHING like DS3, way different combat feel and is the Souls game we all dreamt about. It is absolutely amazing in every single way.
I've played S and A-5 partial translation of her route so I kinda get why people are sold to her (not the route), either because of her "gap moe" Or "cool beauty" Archetype. I have seen many polls and tierlist putting Margit in a higher tier than others, but is there any particular reason you guys like Margit?
I was almost there when they kicked us out of the server lol

I saw some videos of that bossfight and i wanna play exactly like margit. What i mean by that is that not only are his melee attacks hard hitting, but so are his magical attacks. And thats exactly how i want my build to be.
Edit: i dont necessarily mean i want to use his exact spells, i just want my magic to be hard hitting too
I think that this will be the first time in a soulsborne FromSoftare's game where we will actually fight the "Firekeeper", I think she will want to be the Elden Lord and fight us for the elden ring. that's why we can't possibly hit her in any way, otherwise we would ruin the quest. also, she seems quite adept in magic, since she can teleport. there's a strange vibe off her too.
I do think that we will fight Margit a second time. he seems a much much more powerful creature that what we've seen and he was just trying to humble us, he was fighting with a cane afterall.
Everyone (myself included) had a really tough time with him. At first I believed this was because he is teaching the new mechanics of the game, most of people aren't playing attention to.
And, while I still hold that opinion, I've seen the gameplay of a streamer that I follow and he said something that has made me think. He says that he feels Margit is going to be like the True Corrupted Monk on Sekiro's demo: a hard, end-game boss, simply put there to highlight the general boss design of the game.
So, I've been doing some research and found that in DS3's CNT happened exactly the same: the boss was the Dancer. I don't know about BB and the other Dark Souls games though.
But on the other hand, we've seen Margit on the trailers and he still is on the same arena, right before StormVeil Castle, which very clearly seems to be out first main objective in the story.
Having all of this in mind, I think there is the chance of Margit being kind of our nemesis through the game, that he will chase us down and we'll hace to face him on multiple fights on which he will gain new moves. And that maybe what we have seen on the CNT is not the first fight against him.
What do you guys think?
I already miss fighting this boss so much. It was a lot of fun! I love his moveset from quick attacks to very delayed, but my favourite is when he does that jump slam and you roll right into it. I love how margit was in the old gameplay trailer, and he actually did that attack! And i'm glad we have amazing quotes that i dont mind hearing over and over again. 'Warrior blood must truly run in thy veins!' Just hits the spot!
Itβs easy in fromsoft games to forget that the giant freak murdering you 100 times over doesnβt always have bad intentions. Quelaag is a shocking sight but as it turns out she simply wanted to feed and protect her sister. Gehrman wants to send the Hunter to peace and avoid the nightmare he suffers as head hunter. The lothric princes truly believe the flame a curse and offer the ashen one rest, and Gael sacrificed himself and allowed the dark soul to twist and consume him, trusting the ashen one to defeat him (even leaving breadcrumbs to find him) and deliver the dark soul to the painter. Etc
Point being sometimes enemies stand in our way because they believe itβs for our own good.
Another constant in fromsoft is that seeking immortality causes unnatural corruption, and we the lowly garbage peasant ironically become immortal and use that to purge the corruption, often sacrificing ourselves in the end.
Margit is corrupted. Heβs got shit growing all up on his head. Heβs clearly garnered power, power of grace Iβd say given all the magic he uses being gold, but itβs come at a terrible cost. Heβs a twisted and seemingly old monster. When he teleports in he audibly grunts as he jumps down to face us. Heβs a dusty old fart thatβs been suffering the consequences of the power he unnaturally hoarded in soulsborne fashion.
He is a visible warning of the cost of seeking such power. He is quite literally, a fell omen. One of many apparently, since he says at death Cower in Fear. Of the Night. The hands of the Fell Omen shall brook thee no quarter
I believe the hands of the fell Omen are not seekers of the Elden ring, but a deterrent.
Compare Margit to godrick. Godrick names himself the golden king, lord of all that is golden, etc. he speaks to us with contempt and commands us to kneel. He talks to the dragon, a symbol of immortality, with reverence and just a hint of sexual tension. He is a contender for the ring who clearly will do anything to claim power including turning himself into Frankensteinβs monster on meth.
Look at how Margit talks to us in contrast
βFoul tarnished, in search of the Elden Ring. Emboldened by the flame of ambition. Someone must extinguish thy flame. Let it be Margit the Fell!β
βPut these foolish ambitions to rest.β
βWell, thou art of passing skill. Warrior blood must truly run in thy veins, Tarnishedβ
*βI shall remember thee, Tarnished. Smould'ring with thy meagre flame. Cower in Fear. Of the Night. The hands of the Fell Ome
... keep reading on reddit β‘i fought margit(gud) the old fashioned way, no spells/arts, no shield, no summons, just rolling and attacking
and oh boy, his moveset is one of the greatest i have ever seen (and this is just the start of the game)
overall a GREAT boss and im excited to see the rest of them in february
I was watching people fight him(fucking awesome boss btw) but his dialogue after his defeat intrigued me. It reminds me alot of Aldia's dialogue when he is defeated. Margit's dialogue almost sounds like he's promising a round two. Did he die? What do you guys think his dialogue at the end means?
I am literally stuck with this boss, died about a dozen times. Haven't noticed a single help sign down. Truth be told, I laid a summons down and all five or six times I died before the boss was dead. Couple times I was there until the boss was at like 15% health.
Tough boss. Really intricate attack patterns. I am learning, but at a slow pace.
I mean, I know the game is huge and I'm ok with reusing some dungeon and field bosses. But I definitely wouldn't like if they took two spots of main bosses for the same one.

I SPENT LIKE 1-2H ON HIM AND HONESTLY IT'S SUCH A FUN FIGHT. He's going down tonight for sure, I'm so hyped. Have you guys beat him solo yet? 2nd phase straightsword is rough at times, even with 6 levels in vit.
I couldn't find summons or invasions at all, but when I got summoned (group of 3), it was way easier, also.
Had the axe cleric warrior. Still haven't figured out how people 2H their weapons or if you can upgrade the weapon. I would love to know if you guys found how^^
I LOVE THE ENDURANCE, I was running the whole fight. Coming from the whole Bloodborne month shenanigans/events, I appreciate the rolling so much. This guy felt like Gael with an off hand hard swap dagger fetish. If you run and position a certain way it's pretty fun to space that if anything.
So, I didn't make it into the CNT but I've watched videos of the intro and fight.
At the end of the fight, Margit disappears but continues talking after he fades away. When he does, he says he'll remember the Tarnished One and the hands of the Fell Omen "shall brook thee no quarter".
Based on how he kind of summons into the area magicall and then his statement after the fight, do you think you'll fight him a second time somewhere? Maybe not in Stormveil but in another area?
Let me know what you think. CNT players who saw it first hand, especially.
Mag, you're Magyar, make your mega yore Mag yar!
