A list of puns related to "Legal Drug Trade"
Here are my reasons.
95,000 people die from alcohol related causes every year in America. This is the third highest cause of death in America. 1st is tobacco, 2nd is poor diet and exercise habits. It causes more deaths than all other drugs combined.
Itβs one of the only drugs and by far the most mainstream that actually causes you to be violent, and is a factor in large amounts of violent crime/ domestic abuse.
The life expectancy of someone hospitalized with an alcohol problem is about 50. Almost 30 years shorter than the average life expectancy in America.
28% of driving deaths in America are caused by alcohol.
Itβs the only drug that has withdrawals that can actually kill you.
There are many more reasons that I have but those are statistically backed and not opinionated. Itβs dangerous and absolutely terrible for you. The only positive it provides is more fun social interactions, which literally any drug used in moderation can provide, the difference being that itβs not taboo to drink a beer or 2, while itβs taboo to casually do some heroin.
Also, who likes being hungover?
Worth noting you can make most of the same arguments for tobacco, but in my experiences tobacco is typically more frowned upon than drinking.
Edit: I understand that prohibition didnβt work. Iβm not saying alcohol being illegal is feasible. Iβm just saying that I donβt think it should be legal. Plenty of other drugs are illegal and people donβt throw a fit
Edit 2: Yβall are bringing up good points and counterpoints but itβs too much stuff for me to reply to. The war on drugs and prohibition are great reasons as to why this wonβt work. Donβt have much of an argument there.
Iβm not totally opposed to the idea of all drugs being legal and providing medical care and safe spaces for addicts. This has worked in other places around the world but the American health system is so screwed up that it would still just fuck people over. Mainly just because itβs so for profit and unaffordable for so many people that I donβt think this would help anybody. That is an issue with medical system as a whole and not with the idea of drugs being legal.
Iβm seeing people bring up caffeine and sugar. People really need to educate themselves on the negative effects of both of those drugs. The long terms effects of those are silent killers, mainly sugar. Itβs pretty unavoidable and not terrible in moderation the typical American diet has wayyyyyy too much sugar for anybody t
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hey folks. Because marijuana is already being recreationally legalized in more and more states and countries for that matter and psilocybin mushrooms are being decriminalized in Denver with truffles being 100% legal In the Netherlands and Portugal decriminalizing literally every drug in existence I do wonder if the future for drugs is liberal. This post is more of a question I guess but Redditors do you believe that drugs will be legal in the future, if so then what drugs and when, and if not than why and do you believe drug sentences will ever become harsher than they already are?
Why are we like this? Who all of a sudden decided that taking a chemical that harms one person (if the took it at free will) and has hardly any deaths a year is illegal, but say slaving animals and imprisoning them is, who decided that circumcision is okay, but being progressive isnβt, or that disrespecting your elders is sinful?
I was watching the show How to sell drugs online fast when this was mentioned and it made me think more.
I was suspended from my High School in early December when I was still 17 and my grandparents who are my legal guardians gave the school permission to drug test me, well my 18th birthday was a few days ago and I was wondering if there is anyway I could go about taking that permission away since I am now 18 and if so how?
Or does that go against the hippocratic oath?
https://www.buyemp.com/product/fentanyl-citrate-100-mcg-2-ml-injection-usp-cii
legal fentanyl in US sold for $70 per 2.5 miligram, or $28 million /kilogram of fentanyl.
https://www.affirmhealth.com/blog/word-on-the-street-fentanyl
A kilogram of fentanyl is purchased for approximately $6,000 (in bulk) and sold for approximately $1.6 million (in cut form).
When patients can't afford fentanyl legitimately, they source it themselves from the blackmarket for cheaper prices.
Then they self-medicate, and self-medicate is more likely to lead to more addiction and more overdoses.
Perhaps there is the "over pushing" of fentanyl, but there is certainly the economic conditions of drug abuses.

You could go by yourself or with a group of friends. Instead of going to the vineyard with friends or the bar, you could go to a psychedelic spa!

Bristol Live - "Britain's first drug consumption space opens in Bristol today": https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/britains-first-drug-consumption-space-6289925
Apparantly one has been in Glasgow as well. Are they legal? How should police forces respond to them?
Personally I am not on board. I do think all drug possession should be decriminalized and drugs that are not too harmful like cannabis, psychedelics, mild stimulants, etc should be filly legalized. Along with this there should be safe ejection sites along with rehabilitation services. For drugs harmful enough distribution should be illegal even if possession is not.
I just don't know how anyone can want all drugs to be legalized. Some drugs are just so harmful and violate peoples free will. Even with prescription drugs like opioids we have seems them destroy so many lives and communities. How would giving people more access to opioids fix this and not make it even worse?
Cigarettes are already legal to anyone over 18, why don't we just make all drugs legal to anyone over 18. We all know the consequences of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. If somebody wants to ruin their life. Why not just make it easier on everyone by just allowing it to be sold? It would stop drug dealers, drug trade, cartels, etc.
