Context:
If you ask Morant if he ever contemplates the downside to his playing style, he’ll tell you he does not. It’s how he’s always played. His athleticism and highlight-reel ability was a major factor in him becoming a breakout star at Murray State and eventually becoming the No. 2 pick of the 2019 Draft. He has no intention to change his style now.
“I’ve been playing like this all my life,” Morant said. “It got me here and I’m going to continue playing like that. I’m willing to lay my body on the line for my team.”
Make no mistake, the Grizzlies don’t want Morant laying his body on the line at this stage in his career. Not more than he needs to, anyway. He’s just 20 and has already been load-managed twice during back-to-backs. He received a week-to-week designation after suffering back spasms two weeks ago. The front office and head coach Taylor Jenkins work in conjunction with the Grizzlies’ performance team to figure out the best way to keep the point guard healthy for the long run.
“He and I have sat down and we talk to our performance team,” Jenkins said. “He recognizes it. He’s a high-flyer, he goes in there, seeks contact. He’s doing a little bit better of avoiding contact and not ending up in a spill situation. But that just takes more time and more reps. He’s facing different lengths, different athleticism, different coverages. He recognizes them, which is number one. And now it’s just continuing to give him the tools where he can continue to combat that physicality at the rim and still be an efficient, high-level scorer for us.”

so our neighbour moved in not long ago and ever since then, she’s been using our garden as if it’s her own. she parks on it, drives across it, leaves rubbish on it, walks across it and the newest thing she’s done is put slabs down the bottom of it so that when she gets out of her car she doesn’t have to tread on the mud (which she created by parking on there in the first place). we want to do stuff to our garden such as plant stuff on there or build stuff so that they won’t drive across it anymore but with their attitude, we think they’ll just drive over it. she’s also taken up using our neighbour’s parking space while she’s away because she doesn’t want to walk the 30 seconds to the resident car parks across the road. is there anything we can do that won’t cause trouble, as they seem the type that you don’t want to mess with?
