Historians have called TS one of the most backward and conservative post-Napoleonic states in Europe.
I just want to see what anyone on this sub thinks (I’m a lurker, but not subbed).
Recently many historians are claiming that the Risorgimento period was not a just unification which gave birth to a new age for Italy (as portrayed in the past), but a violent conquest of the allegedly rich south. The greedy exploitation of these riches would be one of the reasons (if not the main reason) why today southern Italy is poorer than northern Italy. I tried searching for sources in Italian, but I am not sure of their objectivity.
Is this true? Was Garibaldi more a criminal than a hero? Was the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies really that rich?
I've been searching for an answer to this question, but I just can't find it anywhere. It seems like wikipedia is the only resource to even briefly mention their involvement.
I've been wondering this since the Italy update what would the Two Sicilies military look like. I imagine they could use Carcanos and Adrian style helmets like the other Italian states simply cause their readily avaible. Or they'd use their own equipment say their own version of a Mauser of steyr in order to distance themselves from the rest of Italy.
In the Entente, Sardinia is the only Italian member, which it once ruled the entirety of Italy once before. Based on this, I believe we can assume that Sardinia more or less claims the entire Italian Peninsula with Entente support. However, wouldn't the entry of Two Sicilies mean that the Entente more or less abandons its support for Sardinia's return to the continent? The Entente does not seem to have a rationale for going "divide and rule" approach in Italy, but they would, in fact, want a single and strong ally in the region to counter Habsburg influence. Even if there is a good rationale to allow Sicilian membership, wouldn't that trigger a diplomatic shift in Sardinia? I believe Sardinia could pursue Reikspakt membership in the game already, so maybe they could go that direction? What do y'all think?

Much of the Brigantaggio songs can work for both the international and the Two Sicilies as they'd likely be viewed as heroes by both the Syndies and the monarchists. As it was a peasant uprising against the foreign occupiers and also one to restore the rule of the Bourbon kings.

If we are, to be honest, the situation in Italy is currently going to hell in a handbasket, with extremists and radicals attempting to pour into Italy. That being said, we cannot overlook the violence the current government has issued upon its people as well as it's neighbors. As such, we offer a solution:
The government has failed the people to such an extent that a civil war is likely to occur before the year is out, but we can control such a dilemma so a large portion of the more radical elements is unlikely to enter into the war. However, this will only lessen the effect and not necessarily fix the problem. To that end, we might be able to prevent a war in the first place. If the socialists were to be given their own state to the North of Italy to govern themselves as they wish, while those loyal to the current government be allowed to retain the areas south of roam, this would allow for both parties to continue on a path of self-determination and governance. While this might seem a radical solution, it would otherwise prevent a bloody ideological civil war that could bring in the intervention of foreign powers, despite France's warning.
We also believe in diplomacy, however, previous attempts to contact the Italian Government or placate the wronged socialist element in the country have fallen on deaf ears as they both seem to follow the path of Blood. We have witnessed the horrors of war in Italy, and do not wish to see history repeat itself.

Whether you support the idea of a Dev Fund or not, forking the chain over a 5% Dev Fund, that might lead to capacity improvement, on a chain doing 0.5TPS is insane. There really is no other way to describe it. Why don't we work with what we have, before we split the community (again).
