A list of puns related to "Italian Volleyball League"
Iβve been seeing this petition (https://www.change.org/p/segreteriaministro-sanita-it-cos%C3%AC-il-volley-muore-799f5639-e1f2-42d6-bbf2-b3db41228273?utm_content=cl_sharecopy_30215108_it-IT%3A0&recruiter=1218774846&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition) shared all over Instagram and just wanted to know what itβs all about since Iβm not an Italian speaker. What Iβm assuming (based off Google Translate) is that the league is planning to open up arenas for fans to watch the games but the volleyball players and clubs are against it because of COVID concerns. There seems to be more to it though, so Iβd really appreciate your guysβ thoughts on this.
Seems like recently there have been some people interested in following the Men's Italian SuperLega, probably the best men's league in the world atm. So I thought I would do a quick introduction to the league from someone who spends far too much time watching and playing volleyball.
Logistics: The majority of the games are on Sundays, with some Wednesdays thrown in there. Every team plays at 6pm local time (or 8:30 on Wednesdays), which is noon for those of us on the east coast and 9am for those on the west. Games that are broadcast on the national Italian network (generally one a week) can be on any day. The league is about a quarter of the way through, you can check the game stats/standings after the fact at www.legavolley.it. I find the "Regular Season e PlayOff" section under "Calendario" to be the easiest place to check box scores. I watch the games on elevensports.it, which you have to pay for, but if you don't care about watching live there are one or two infamous vball youtube channels that will generally have the games, albeit with dozens of watermarks.
4 interesting storylines to follow:
The teams you need to watch at least once are Perugia and Modena. Modena has two of the best players in the world in /r/volleyball golden boy Earvin Ngapeth and Brazillian superstar Bruno. Perugua is the first place team who has only dropped one game this entire season. Not set, game. They basically have an all-star team, but American sweetheart Aaron Russell has been particularly impressive. These teams square off on December 17th so mark it on your calendars.
This dude Nimir Abdel-Aziz, a Dutch former setter, is absolutely crushing it after barely playing in the world league. He's averaging 6.21 points/game, a full point/game higher than the second-best player, mostly on huge serves and powerful cball attacks that often result in a tool. While he can be moody, he'll be a force in volleyball for the next few years and someone you should definitely check out.
Americans are crushing it in the Italian league this season. I already mentioned Aaron Russell, but Max Holt on Modena deserves some praise too. Micah Christenson and Taylor Sander have had their usual connection leading Lube to a 6-1 record. The Shoji br
This is something I've wanted to run for a while, and I think I've ironed out enough details to get it started. Here is the format for those of you who might be interested.
5 individual stat categories: kills, aces, blocks, perfect pass %, and kill %. Kind of limited by what box score stats we have access to. If you have any more idea I am open to suggestions. Others I considered were points-errors, setter team kill %, and just errors.
For those who don't know how head-head fantasy sports work, each week you have a different opponent, and you compete with this person in the 5 categories I mentioned above. Your goal is to beat them in as many of the categories as you can. Only stats for the game that week will be counted. At the end, there will be a 6 or 8 team single-elimination playoff with the best teams to decide the winner.
Each team will have 10 roster spots, and you can "start" 7 players per week (Setter-Libero-Outsidex2-Middlex2-Opposite), meaning only those seven's stats count for that week. To make your team, we will take turns drafting players. If there is a player you want who is not on any roster after the draft, it's first-come-first-serve, but you need to release one of your current players. Trades are allowed and encouraged.
The Italian league regular season is 26 weeks, with 1 game a week, usually on sundays and sometimes wednesdays. It is considered by most to be the strongest men's volleyball league in the world.
So basically all you need to do if you want to participate in this league is a) draft players to your team and b) post your "starters" for each game. Of course, I encourage active participation and trades and such too. I have a nifty excel spreadsheet that should be able to scrape the box scores, so I will try and post the results of the weekly matchup on Sunday night/Monday morning.
The league should work fine with between 8 & 12 teams depending on how much interest there is. If you want to join please comment! But be kind of available for the (non-live) draft over the next few days and be willing to spend a few minutes a week starting your lineup. Already have a couple people interested. Hello!I've got myself, my husband and another couple, all close to our early 30s, making a Volleyball Team. I'm hoping to find another 2 males and 2 females (I can do 3 and 1 of either way too). We are looking for people with good attitudes and who want to work on getting better. We don't care what experience you have, only that you want to improve and will try to work as a team :D. We're easy going, probably a bit inappropriate, and are out to have a good time. Win or lose, we don't care, we won't get angry if you hit the ball and it doesn't work out, only if you stand in your spot and never move :).
Details:
Having a total of 8 players allows room if someone can't make it in a week. I generally am looking for reliability as well.
If you're interested, shoot me a message! Thank you!
Anyone know of any leagues starting up soon? I donβt have a whole team, I just would like to join one, I have experience playing
Hey everyone! Looking to start a weekly/bi weekly meet up for us younger locals to play volleyball at Coligny on the weekends. Any interest?
Any team looking for a person with two working legs and two working arms?? Not to brag but I played in 7th and 8th grade.
Over the summer and fall I saw people playing volleyball in what looked like an organized league at the Scioto Audubon volleyball courts. Does anyone know how to join? My wife and I are looking for a casual outdoor volleyball league to play in once the weather is nicer!
Moving to Durango this winter. Are there any co-ed volleyball bar leagues around town in the spring or summer?

Any Volleyball Leagues/Drop Ins in Markham? Looking to get some reps in on a drop in or a league! Thank you!
Iβm graduating college soon and I wonβt have full access to my University gym. Iβm looking for Open-Gym or league volleyball. I want to keep playing, competitively or recreationally. Surface doesnβt really matter to me either. grass, sand, or indoor. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!
Hello! I am an amateur volleyball player - I play for fun and the social aspect of it. Did it a bit in middle and high school. I'm going to be moving to Boston in January and I was hoping to find a casual co-ed volleyball league but came up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone else would be interested and I can organize a FB group or Discord chat and we can hopefully coordinate places, dates and times to play. Let me know!
I'm 26 years old by the way. Two of my friends (25 and 27) would be joining.
Hey everyone, I have had some doubts whether people would want this gamemode or not, I would love it, since I also like to play Hoops a lot but what are your opinions on it?
Looking to play some coed indoor volleyball. Are there any leagues or groups that do this right now?
