My question extends to the matter of when it started being creepy / not socially acceptable to be in a relationship with someone so young. According to Edward II's Wikipedia article, "Isabella was only 12 years old at the time of her wedding, young by the standards of the period, and Edward probably had sexual relations with mistresses during their first few years together." Obviously this is pretty messed up by today's standards. When did "today's standards" start existing?
What if I told you, that there was a wide receiver that had top end burner speed, had a 97th percentile college dominator rating and broke out before the age of 20. Now what if I told you he was drafted in the 2nd round. Also, that he would be drafted to a team with a new young coach and QB who loves to throw the ball in an air raid offense. With all those things taken into consideration you would probably peg this receiver to at the very least get over a 70 percent snap share in his first year. Well you would be WRONG!
The guy I am discussing above as most of you already know is Andy Isabella and I have been trying to find a reason why this kid for all intents and purposes did not get much of a shot this season. Is he a bad character guy? Is he injured? Is he just not what they expected? Well hopefully after you read this and discuss below, we may come to an understanding of how this travesty could occur (in all honesty itβs the NFL for all we know, Kliffβs psychic told him not to start any receivers named Andy this season).
Letβs start with the beginning of training camp. It was a day in August, new had just came out that the 2nd round UMass product had left practice with an apparent injury. This injury occurred on a catch that he had just taken in for a TOUCHDOWN. All the apparent Cardinalβs insiders were saying that Isabella at the very least was the 4, and more likely the 3 in the pecking order, behind Fitz and Captain Kirk. The injury turned out to be a βminor knee injuryβ, so in essence you wouldnβt think this could derail his whole season and usage right? This injury didnβt ruin his preseason and although he didnβt stat sheet stuff he was looking good in the return game and had a few eye opening big plays such as his week 2 59 yard TD catch. He was also getting used in the slot, quite often (over 80% of his snaps), which was what many believed would be his NFL role would entail although he was used heavily outside at UMass.
It looked in camp as though potentially Hakeem Butler would be utilized more as the 3 this season, since Kirk was their slot guy and so was Fitz, so a bigger WR to high point balls wouldnβt be a bad thing. Maybe he is the reason Isabella wasnβt used? Well that all got put to bed when the unfortunate hand injury occurred and caused Butler a stint on the IR which he didnβt return from this whole season.
