Was aiming for 72 hours, but since that's not until 2am, I think this'll do. Happy enough. Means I can enjoy my evening with some food.
Thought I'd ease back in with some powdered instant cup soup. First sip, I got a lovely warm high feeling. I don't know if it's just because I'm starving, or if it's the sense of achievement. Maybe both.
I swear, fasting makes you immensely grateful for even something as simple as flavoured dust with some hot water. π
You proper pro long-term fasters probably think I'm being silly, but since my previous record was 42 hours, let me enjoy this. π

I was down with COVID last week and the soup was awesome - all you have to do is add boiling water!
It occurred to me after I made a quadruple batch of the mix this morning I realized how much it ticks a lot of the boxes for food that we struggle with - itβs simple to make, itβs simple to make a lot of (meal prep), itβs pretty shelf stable (donβt have to do it often, doesnβt go bad easily if we forget) - and if you have to go somewhere for work itβs an easy thing to take for lunch - dish, mix, something to help measure the amount of water that is microwave safe, and a spoon.
Makes a nice change from my other β404: brain not foundβ lunch of instant ramen.
I have travelled extensively and have been in situations where getting food late at night in a strange place was difficult, but you can find hot water just about anywhere. I use a small tools pouch from Husky to carry oatmeal, soup, and instant coffee. The oatmeal packets can tear open so the nylon pouch keeps everything protected. The shelf life of most of these items is fairly long, so it's okay if you forget it in a luggage pocket for a few months.
For those who have not tried them, Wild Zora makes a line of instant soups that are low carb. I find them very tasty, with several meat and vegetable options. Most soups have a lot of starch or starchy vegetables like potatoes added. So it is nice to have an option that is low carb.
