A list of puns related to "Idol Worship"
I just wanted to hear otherโs opinions and experiences on this. I am now around 5 years POMO, I was born into the borg in Poland, then moved to England at a fairly young age and experienced the borg in both countries.
Poland is a very catholic country and lots of people hang images of Mary or Jesus in their homes. Now I remember there being a huge obsession with discussing this in terms of demons and curses when I was little. Outside of meetings people would often discuss stories about how someone was unaware of having a catholic cross in their loft and they experienced terrible luck until they found and burned it (or other such similar stories). To be quite honest this used to scare me a lot haha. There was a general belief that images like that arenโt just idol worship but also almost literally cursed.
Now I find this odd since this is literally incompatible with JW doctrine. Itโs an odd memory of childhood and I donโt remember this being as much of a thing in England. It seems to me that JWs were kind of drawn to the mysticism of it, despite such almost occulty beliefs being a huge Nono.
I wonder if anyone else experienced this or has any thoughts on it.
im just getting into hellenism and i was looking for a figurine of aphrodite to work with,, there are many religions in which its said that you can only worship a full body statue of the god or that it needs to be of a particular material, so i wanted to know if it applies for hellenism too or i can just worship any statue i get online.
I don't have a kuldevta since I wasn't born hindu so people told me to choose an idol to worship, I picked Ganesha and Krishna because I felt a very strong connection with the both of them, but I'm afraid that one can't worship two idols. What do you guys think?

According to this video apparently the practice started after there was a gold idol of Guru Hargobid Sahib presented to Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Can anyone else confirm if what is being said here is true or false. If it is true why didn't the Sikhs during that time object to this happening as it went against the tenets of Sikhi. Also going further on this point, is it a good idea for Sikhs to keep pictures of Sikh Gurus in our houses as it may lead to some of us indulging in idolatry of those pictures which would be against Gurmat.
Which is also a pagan practice mo stole from pagans
I love Solar Power. To me, it reads as Lorde saying I know how much you guys appreciate me, but I am just a person.
Our ravenous fan pressure impacts her, even when it comes from a good place. Itโs when that pressure turns righteousโฆ
โIf youโre looking for a saviour, well thatโs not meโ
Now I better understand the intention of this lyric. She has spoke along these lines herself.
I understand that logically too- yโall are stressing me out because I donโt think I have what you truly seek to feel well. Whatever that is.
However, what Iโve realised is that I did not see Lorde as just an artist. Her art guided me through my adolescence. Through the most gut & heart wrenching parts. And so I idolised her to a godly level.
Now that lyric feels like a harsh, necessary reminder from someone I admire. From a place of care for both the artist themselves and their fans.
Much of this theme in solar power has caused me to reassess my relationship with art and artists that I strongly identify with.
Ultimately, I feel better and I think she feels less pressured.
Curious to know if anyone else had similar thoughts?
Idol Worship [Enterprise/Hornet/Yorktown/Lexington]
(My stuff is here)
The commander finished looking over the reports that Enterprise had handed him about the last round of exercises. "Well, everything seems in order. I don't have to ask for extra recommendations since you've already done that yourself. All I really have left to say is... Once again, excellent work, Enterprise."
Enterprise stood straight, as she usually did. "Thank you, commander. Will there be anything else?"
The commander put down the papers. "As far as business goes, no. But as for other things, I'm glad that you came out to the muse concert along with your sisters. It's not something that everyone expected."
The carrier blinked. "It was only natural. Baltimore was involved, and she sometimes feels a bit shaky when it comes to certain things, so it was important for all of us to come out to support her. Were some people surprised at my appearance?"
"More like relieved, I think." The commander leaned back in his chair. "While we do live in serious times, and you recognize that, people do like to see that you're not disappearing down a hole of some kind. You and I both know that there's more to you than that, but not everyone gets to see you all the time, so they can only base their impressions on that. So, things like seeing you at a concert, or you being Santa Claus- that's a big help."
"I see."
The commander went on. "Now, that's about it. You're free to go home, or go do whatever else you like."
-----------------
After talking with the commander, Enterprise couldn't stop thinking about the concert. Baltimore was also pretty serious about her sporty heroics, but at the end of the night, she decided to put on something frilly and get up on stage in front of everyone. And as she turned it over in her head, Enterprise actually started to think about the more technical aspects of what Baltimore got up to, and decided that it was something to investigate herself. What intrigued her was that Baltimore was known for her athleticism, and even she said that this sort of thing was quite physically demanding.
She managed to pick up a copy of the concert album for a decent price after staring Akashi down for an "employee discount". Enterprise began to wonder if this was actually the first time she had gone out of her way to buy something like this, and she eventually realized that almost all of the other music at home was

The only biblical support for this seems to be the veneration of the bronze snake in the old testament, but I don't know what the distinction between veneration & worship is in the bible in that case, since some Israelites ended up worshipping the snake and were punished for it.
In terms of Apostolic Succession, it strikes me that the authority of Christianity in early centuries came from Christ through the Apostles, not the scriptures themselves, which to me is a very strong argument for Apostolic Succession in the Church.
What do I do here? I'm at a crossroads once again in my faith journey, I feel like the guy who built his house on shifting sand.
TL;DR: it's all about Zoom. Zoom decides how much effective range is even possible. The range stat then dictates how much of that value can be achieved.
Let's compare two 450rpm auto rifles: A "Shadow Price" with 66 range and rangefinder will experience DMG fall off before "The Number" with 50 range.
Why? "Shadow price" has the base A.R. zoom of 16. "The Number" enjoys a zoom of 20
Another great way to frame the efficacy of zoom is how different sight perks effect where damage falloff begins for a time warn spire I have. More range with less range.
Red Dot Micro: 37.13m
Range=55 Zoom=19
Rifle Scope SSF: 42.72m
Range=53 Zoom=22
The range stat actually tells me I should have less effective range but that's not how it works because zoom actually wears the pants.
I think the misunderstanding stems from YouTube and an absurd lack of information provided to us in game. Every God roll video you click on is basically a propaganda film for range.
Mainly though I think this is another place where the lack of info provided in-game is kind of an issue. We shouldn't have to turn to several community managed Excell Docs and data mining to understand the point values behind perks and abilities in a game where build crafting is at the forefront....it's kind of insane actually.
@bungie you listening dawg? P.S. the weapons team is clearly asleep at the wheel... Which is not recommend by the department of transportation.
Hear me out. 3000 years is a long, looong time to study anything. And if they took over the research from the entities that were studying us before this time period, they have data that goes back even longer.
Humans are complex beings, sure, but at some point you have to wonder how much more there is to learn about the way humankind develops itโs ideologies? What could they believe they donโt know about us now, that they havenโt found out over 3000 years of study?
It sticks out as a huge plot-hole to me in TAAs story.
