A list of puns related to "Human Speech"
I remember hearing an Audio recording of what seems to be bigfoot imitating human speech I've been looking for it but I can't seem to find it. If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be a great help. Thanks
I think every character in Toy Story franchise has a simple abstract speaking pattern
You can formulate those patterns with the help of a few concepts that I hope will be intuitive enough (so let's get some playtime!)
The post does contain spoilers of all kinds.
Every name can be a link to the trailer of Toy Story 2 or other trailers to help you navigate the post
The post is split into chapters, but they are not called "chapters" because of the stylization. There're a continuation of the post and "music version" of the post in the comments
Beware (Disclaimer): it's a highly speculative idea and I'm just your average uneducated Joe (not a linguist). May be total garbage... but it's very important for me anyway, it's not some deliberate joke.
What I'm trying to do is called Discourse analysis, it studies structures more abstract than sentences (and how utterances relate to each other). I mix it with Stylometry, i.e. I assume you can describe someone's style by the means of Discourse analysis
I will quote 19 characters: Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Forky and Ken, Mr. Potato Head and The Prospector and Mr. Pricklepants (7), Rex and Jessie, Bo Peep and Trixie, Sarge and Slinky Dog, Gabby Gabby and Lotso (15) - plus Reptillus Maximus and Hamm and Al McWhiggin and Emperor Zurg (19)
Media I'm going to quote: Toy Story (TS 1), Toy Story 2 (TS 2), Toy Story 3 (TS 3) and Toy Story 4 (TS 4) - plus Toy Story of Terror! (TS: Terror) and Toy Story That Time Forgot (TS: Time) and Forky Asks a Question (Forky Q&A) and Toy Box world from Kingdom Hearts III (TS: KH) - plus Toy Story 1 Deleted Scenes (TS 1: Deleted) and Disney's Animated Storybook: Toy Story (TS 1: Storybook)
Happy upcoming New Year!,
Disclaimer (2): I didn't do research, this post doesn't contain arguments and real definitions, doesn't have justifications of interpretations, doesn't have statistics. This isn't a (real) scientific essay or persuasive writing. It's just an entirely subjective analysis. With this post I want to impress you on other levels, for exam
... keep reading on reddit β‘Saying you're wrong is not the same as saying you should not speak or have a platform. And no, the subversive game of "it's a private platform" is not an excuse. People should be free to speak, and this guilt by association culture is being propped up to keep political dissidents from speaking.
Free speech is a human right, and you are fucking evil if you are trying to subvert other people's rights on a technicality. Human rights are not just for governments, if that were the case then you could go out and just kill people and it wouldn't be morally wrong because according to that argument you have no rights where other people are concerned.
The radicals can go fuck themselves, they are playing games for power and the moderates don't see it because they're not paying attention. Please, stop voting for these people, stop associating with these people, stop working with these people.
If you think that these types of people will not ruin your life if they thought they could get away with it then you need to stop and look around you. They took papa johns business from him. Right now the moderates are scared and thinking "if I keep my head down it'll all blow over." It's not going to blow over, they are trying to change human rights and you're letting them because you're too afraid to fight them. They are more than happy to take everything from you and you need to stop pretending these people are not trying to shape conversations.
Look at this sub, look at what they did to the other subs, they are trying to make it so that you cannot express yourself. How is that not enough for you?
Free speech is a foundational human right. Once you take free speech, ALL OTHER RIGHTS ARE FORFEIT. Do not let your children grow up in a world where they are not allowed to question, think, or speak.
Trying to find an oldish comic book I used to love reading when I was a kid. It featured the human torch delivering a speech at Peter Parker's assembly, saying something along the lines of "never say die, never say never, and never give up". I remember that at the end of the story, spiderman crashes another assembly the human torch is at, and says the same lines. It's kind of similar to the panel in Amazing Spider Man #3, but newer (90's or newer)
Hello. Iβm looking for an accessible text on how speech evolved and came about in human beings. Capacity for language. The evolution of human body to make it capable. Things like that. I donβt know if thereβs consensus on how this happened but i was wondering if there was a book someone could recommend that would talk about some of this stuff. Nothing too jargon and in the weeds. Just a little, if that makes sense. Thanks.

So this speech has to have an introduction, 3 arguments, one counter argument and a conclusion. It needs to revolve around at least one of the UN human rights and the arguments need to be build on western cultural expression.
We had to chose a book to read for this assignment, I read Exodus by Brandon Uris with the thought of using it for a speech around religous freedom, ethnic discrimination, antisemitism etc. While I have enough material to do a speech about western antisemitism using multiple examples from literature and art I don't really know how to make it an argumentative speech.
Like am I suppose to argue that antisemitism is bad? That seems a bit on the nose and hard to find counter arguments for.
I thought about maybe doing it about Israel/palestine conflict but the UN decleration about human rights specifically wrote that they cannot be used to argue for or against a creation/existence of a state.
So I need some help coming up with a thesis statement or some ideas for the speech becuse I'm really blanking on this assignment.

I've been playing around with "speedwatching" YouTube and noticed that I could easily comprehend 2x speed, sometimes 3x speed, and, with captions, even up to 4 and 5x speed. This makes sense, given the wide discrepancy between reading and speaking rates. If people speak around 120 wpm and can read around 600 wpm with practice, 5x speed doesn't seem all that unreasonable.
This brings me to my main question: has their been any scientific literature around optimizing human comprehension speed? And, if there isn't, are there any frameworks for trialing that?
Geladas are the only non-human primate to make complex mouth movements and vocalize at the same time. Can it be done?
I did a Toy Story speech analysis 2 years ago, but this one is in a completely new style and has much more characters so I hope that's alright!

This might come off as a silly thought but if Taroumaru had spend a lot of time with human and learns the language how about those alongside him?
If I understood right- real life dogs can learn to understand certain simple words/sentences. And instead it's easier for them to learn the motion/body language/signs for example "sit" with that hand pinching movement.
But Taroumaru on the other hand seems capable of understanding the whole complicated converstation word by word. So if they don't follow the rules of the real world why can't the humans learn to understand dog language?
