NOTE: Mention of vaccination status was glaringly obvious from Coons original release about his positive test (12/23), though it urged people to get vaccinated and boosted. I can only independently confirm a two shot vaxx status, but not the booster.

Session Forty-Nine Write-Up:
It has been some time since I had a session to have a write up for, last notes I had were my oneshot with a player who eventually decided not to participate in the arc unfortunately. At this time I only have three players, the fourth potential one stated that they needed a couple of months to be in a life position to join in, which is perfectly reasonable as real life comes before roleplaying-games. That said I was not willing to delay the game any longer than I had to. That previous fourth player that dropped out is not playing in this arc, and that means they basically will not be having a game for (around) six months. I only really want to keep them away from the table for as short a time as I have to, so we are currently just playing with three players.
I have actually had three sessions so far, but the first two sessions were “session zero” materials to create new characters and set the stage for the coming game. Framework discussions, Yes/No lists, group templates/questionnaires, and rule discussions of what optional Cubicle 7 materials we wanted in or out. That sort of thing is important to me in this game, moreso here when we are changing editions of the rules. Not only that but I cleared most of the House Rules I was using from the Ulisses Spiele North America version of the rules and we had to re-explain a few points while having some of the old additions as well. For example, with Objectives. I am trying to have one trigger possible per scene up to the maximum of all six in a session rather than just rolling one and leaving it there. Glory points to the table is just as scarce as it has always been in the older edition so keeping some flow up is important. As such we are also keeping Flashbacks as a house rule to have some Glory additions too.
One really neat Optional Rule I think Cubicle 7 added was the ‘Contacts for Keywords’ addition, which is just a free way for me to forcibly tie npcs directly into the story for a character’s benefit rather than having to try to work those in on my own. Knowing that players have an easy way to contact them with questions is a good way to keep things webbed together and get some scenes in.

“You shot me!?” She attempted to cry, but all that came out was something more akin to the strangled yowl of some backwoods animal.
Her leg was on fire. She could smell cooked meat. She felt sick. Whether from the pain or the thought of her own flesh being seared, she knew not.
“Toughen up princess,” the human said from somewhere behind her. “It was a low powered shot, given that I didn’t want to accidentally blow your leg off. Not out of any concern for you, you have to understand, but I have a feeling I’m going to need to keep you breathing and conscious for the next step of my plan.”
She felt something shove her off her seat, sending pain lancing up her damaged limb as she hit the floor. She howled in pain, naturally. She could hear the sound of fingers pattering across her command interface, before the human spoke again.
“I want all of you over by that wall where I can see you. Hands in the air, and no funny business. I might have needed this sack of shit alive, but the rest of you are all too expendable.”
Gritting her teeth, she managed to open her eyes to view the bridge through her tears. As the human had asked, her bridge crew were standing up and gingerly moving toward the back wall. Craning her neck, she found Jason sitting in her seat, one hand tapping away at her control-pad while the other kept a – not entirely steady aim – pointed at her crew.
Given that he was distracted by that, his typing speed seemed to be suffering, but nonetheless, it didn’t take long at all for her to hear the distinctive sound of the bridge’s door locks engaging.
“That’s better,” Jason sighed. “Wouldn’t want anyone interrupting our little romantic soiree on the bridge.”
“I’ll kill you for this,” Hela hissed, all thoughts of profit forgotten in the face of the agony pulsing out from her knee. “As the Goddesses as my witness, I will flay the very flesh from your bones.”
“Kinky,” he muttered, not even looking at her. “Ah shit, of course they’re demanding confirmation. Just my luck it’s not entirely automated.”
Leaning down, he fixed her headset, which had come loose at some point in the last two minutes.
“Your head engineer is asking for confirmation on your recently issued order to vent all the fuel they’ve collected,” he said. “Give it to her.”
“Eat shit,” she grunted.
Pain flared in her ankle and she screamed, as the smell of burned flesh grew in intensity.

Slowly, like through snow, my eyes flutter open, breaking the crust-lined around them with each bat. I must have been asleep long.
Yawning I try to recall what happened, The last thing I remember is…
It hits me, everything that would have happened if I passed out again. I jump out on my feet, drowsiness snapped out of me and take note of my surroundings.
Dark lit room, the smell of sweat and odd detergent, it’s the medic room at one of Rey’s mini-bases. It’s the one we came to when Vern got shot.

Shakily, with my head pounding, I navigate my way through the long and stuffy room out to the opening leading outside. It’s another underground base, except there aren’t any drugs or piles of unlaundered money laying around, just injured or sick allies.
Right into my first step out of the base I hear my name called, screamed more like it.
“Paige!!”
Startled I swirl and take a look, by look and voice the screamer is a burly, tall man. He’s hovering over a bed with one other person in his company besides Vern lying in the hospital bed.
At the sight of him, I gasp and start a sprint. I sprawl into the bed, into his arms. He grunts a bit but laughs, patting my head.
“Are you alright? What happened?” It pains me that I have to ask.
He hums, “Well, T.V made a bunch of noise and Lieutenant came in and saved me. I haven’t been able to use my powers but I’ll be able to once the meta suppressant in me passes out.”
“Meta suppressant?”
He nods, “It’s this thing the Suppressors use to capture metas faster, just shoot us with a power dampener, it’s in most of their bullets and absorbable.
I let out a sigh of relief, “So you’ll be fine?”
He nods again, “I’ll be fine.”
I leave his embrace and pay attention to Rex and Austin, “What’s going to happen now?”
The first attempt may have failed but I’m sure with the Lieutenant’s around, T.V won’t try anything and if he does then I’m sure the Lieutenant will be quick to retaliate...right?
Austin grimaces in response and Rex avoids my eye, getting to his feet, “Better Vern fill you in than we.” He coughs and walks past.
The two wander off outside and shutting the drapes that partition the makeshift rooms as they do. “What are they talking about?”
His lips stay shut for a moment, a moment too long. Suspicion begins to grow within me, “Aren’t we going to try again? To leave?... Vern

In going where you have to go and doing what you have to do, and seeing what you have to see, you dull and blunt the instrument you write with. But I would rather have it bent and dull and know I had to put it on the grindstone again and hammer it into shape and put a whetstone to it, and know that I had something to write about, than have it bright and shining and nothing to say, or smooth and well-oiled in the closet, but unused.
