I am currently auditing insurance companies in big 4 but when I becone senior, I am intending on auditing tech companies. I just wanted to understand if tech companies are harder or easier to lead audits on?

So i have been in public accounting for almost 3 years now. I like audit - limited to the testing part. But when it comes to preparation of financial statements, or working within Balance sheet,Income statement etc, I completely hate it - i don't like the tie out process, I don't like the classification part, anything involving working on the FS itself.
Is there any other department/section in audit which deals only with testing or only with documentation?
For people who had worked in internal audit - do you guys have to deal with Financial statements or numbers at all? Or can it all about controls,SOX and walkthroughs? If i make the switch to IA,what type of work can i expect?
P.S: i had worked in control testing, and I LOVE the work, reading thru the documents and figuring out the process - but I'm sure that is not everything about IA.

So I'm sitting here, two weeks fresh of quitting with pwc, wondering what to do next. Fortunately, I have enough in the bank to last me long enough to take some time to relax lol, but I want to get income flowing again soon.
Now I quit for one reason really: hours. I'm done working 50+ hr/weeks when its supposed to be quiet. But the LinkedIn recruiters I've talked to are pushing for a senior role (obviously). I do NOT want to be a senior. I'm FINE with entry level money. I'm not sure how to go about that. And I'm not sure if financial analyst is the place to go, I'm sure there are expectations of > 40 hrs there.
Any thoughts are appreciated while you check reddit to avoid reviewing wps :)

38 years old, debt free as of August (drained my "emergency fund" and paid my house off.) My wife and I have separate finances, but now that the house is paid off, we are contributing to a joint account for household expenses/taxes/home improvements to the tune of $5k per month combined, with the intent to let that account grow to a "safe" level and then start putting the excess in to an index fund. That account has $10k in it currently.
On to me- 38 years old, income is variable (commission) with a particularly strong year this year due to interesting COVID related dynamics. Most years I make 180-200k, this year will be over 300k. (Wife makes 120-150k). I max out my 401k, but due to "highly compensated employee" federal guidelines I end up getting a check back at the end of the year which reduces my effective contribution to around $12k. I have around $450k in that account currently. We swapped to an HSA plan a couple years back, I have another $11k sitting there currently and need to figure out how much and where to invest it, but it isn't a critical amount of money to worry about yet.
Otherwise, after draining everything to pay the mortgage off, I've been working to get my savings back to a comfortable level, currently sitting at $30k. I also keep another $5k cash in my safe as a "just in case" fund.
I feel that we are responsible with our money- we make quite a bit, and don't go out of our way to live spartan, but we paid off our 15 year mortgage in 4.5 years, paid off the 50k I borrowed on our 140k boat in 3 years, and paid cash for her $65k Jeep. We have agreed that from here on out we aren't going to borrow money for anything. We don't have a kid that we need to put through college, from here on out it's just a matter of getting as financially comfortable as possible- ideally we both will retire early, but between now and then we'll need to trade our boat in at some point, may buy a place in Florida, etc etc etc.
Long story with too much info made short- I don't want to tie up too much additional money into retirement funds with age requirements for withdrawal. At my income level, there are a lot of restrictions anyhow. I'll continue to max out my 401k and HSA, and would be open to looking at additional money into an IRA of some point also. Does my plan of using an index fund as a large "savings account" make sense? I figure that once I get 200k or so built up in there, it'll make sense to get a financial advisor involved.
