A list of puns related to "Crystal Microphone"
Iβll be making calls and get the occasional person who has crystal clear microphone quality. Itβs crazy how good it is. This one time I was caught off guard by how good it was, for a second I thought someone was beside me.
I use an external Rode USB microphone and I donβt sound half as good as some of these people. What are these people using?
One thing I did notice is that there's 2 recording devices, the Rift S mic, and an Oculus virtual audio device of some type, and the green input levels for that device are permanently at about 50% as if there's some kind of input, but even if I enable listen to that device, there's nothing, silence.
If I disable that device, the same problem still exists.
Help!
EDIT, UPDATE: By disabling the virtual oculus audio recording device the problem 'seems' to have gone, for now at least. The 'Rift S' mic recording device still works fine with the other thing disabled.
WTH is it anyway and why it was producing or receiving a signal of some type when not in use? Very odd!
I don't post or comment, I just like to read and keep up with what people think on different kpop reddits, but I gotta talk about this
Saw a screenshot of a kpop stan on Twitter angry at bts for using their colorful custom crystal microphones when recieving awards. They said bts were "annoying as hell" for doing that and trying to stand out from other groups.
All I wanna do is scream, we are in the middle of the pandemic. Like how many times do we have shout it out, WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC. Bts were smart as hell to show up in their mask, never taking them off and for bringing their own mics. If you watched Mama in real time, you would see the announcers holding and speaking into the mic. Despite, the amazing tinfoil girl distenfecting the mics, bts were smart for taking precautions. It was so irritaing to see other idols take off their masks just to speak and hold the same mic 30+ other celebrities did. So seeing this comment was just irritating. Like bts have parents who they probably wanna see, but they gotta take precautions, they have staff to worry about. I don't get how you can hate a group for wanting to be safe especially after the amount of idols testing positive at music shows. I just wanna cry, we are in a pandemic, this what everybody should have been doing from the start.
I got the device two days ago, sent a voice message to my friend yesterday and he said it sounded like I was in the shower (very very muffly can barely hear my voice let alone what I'm saying) so I tested it on voice memo app and it's perfectly good. I asked him to send me a voice note and his one sounds fine, completely normal. I thought it was just the voice message, then I tried to record a video and the same problem occurs in my video. But when I use Instagram to record a video, everything is normal. I am on the latest, updated version of iOS (this problem occurred straight out of the box and even after updating to iOS 14.5 .
Please if anyone can help let me know what the issue is and how to solve it cause I have Googled it and I have only seen the issue about people complaining it's too quiet (which is solvable by pressing the little speaker icon next to the voice note which isn't my issue, I already knew to do that).
Thanks,
Askilosa

I've seen this posted a few times but haven't found a solution. The interface and microphone function perfectly in other contexts so it's something to due with Discord itself. I've fiddled with all the options in the Voice/Video Settings tab to no avail. I also tried with Mumble today and the same problem occurred.
Looking for some more options to try if anyone has any. Thanks in advance!
As the title says, I can't seem to find any answer about it so I have the hope that people who streams on twitch had this issue and found a way around it that could help me. I use a Corsair Void Pro and I checked if my streaming software picked it up properly, it does. I use OBS and obs supports only sends me links of video about audio on obs but note solve my problem. My mic quality is just lower on obs and it sounds a bit muffled somehow. Any idea from fellow streamers?
So i have this problem with my microphone not showing up in the crystal voice option as it appears disable next to the microphone text, how I select my microphone?
[SOLVED]
Hi,
first of all, sorry if this question is incredibly stupid, but I couldn't find an answer with Google.
I've recently bought a RΓΈde NT1-A and included in the whole set was a couple of anti-moisture crystals in a small plastic/paper bag that, according to the manual, you are supposed to put into the bag that came with the microphone, in which you are supposed to put the microphone in for storage if you don't need it.
So far so clear, but the manual also says that you should watch the color of the crystals and when they are turning red/pink, you should put them in an oven to get rid of the stored moisture, also clear.
Now, the problem: my common sense would now assume that I am supposed to open the bag that contains the crystals, because there's no way to see the crystals while they are in there, so I can't tell the color of them, and who knows if this bag even survives the oven. Now, the manual also says that, if you use the microphone often, which I definitely do (every day to be exact), you can just put the bag on the microphone while it is in the shock mount, but then the loose crystals would just fall out.
Just to clarify again:
I am not 100% sure if I am even supposed to open the bag that contains the crystals, though as I said, I am pretty sure.
Do I just not use the crystals when I use the mic very often and therefore don't remove it from my shock mount? (Also, I might use my mic everyday, but frequently not more than like 4 hours or so)
I guess, I could also get a fabric bag that isn't super dense, or something like that, put the crystals in there and be able to use them even I if I have my mic in the shock mount.
Sorry, for the dumb question, but I am legitimately coming from a 7 β¬ mic, so I have no idea how to handle a decent microphone. I also checked the website of the manufacturer of the crystals, but I couldn't find anything there either.
Hey all! I'm trying to use an old crystal microphone (those used in early 20's radios) to record some stuff. However, I can't find the output connector name. It's about 5/8" and it's directly connected to the radio. My idea is to find a female connector to make a link with a mono 1/4" plug. Could anyone help me with the name? Attached a picture of a Shure 70H which looks the same. Thanks!

Hey. Someone offered me a untested bursh br2s for 40 bucks. I dont find much information about this piece. Do you think it's worth trying? I wanna use it for spoken word and maybe rap vocals.
When I'm playing games like GMod or TF2, my voice sounds like I'm talking through a telephone, but when I'm not recording my voice in a game, it's normal. What?
I have an 22X Turner Bullet microphone that still works. Can be kept as a vintage mic in your collection, or re-purpose it for your harmonica playing.
I have had this for about 15 years and it still works. No cord is included, you will have to build your own.
A little pitting, but overall beautiful. Electronics are original.
$80 + Shipping through USPS ($12.35 currently).
Here are some pics!
I would also entertain trades.
This microphone is from the 1940's and has been repurposed back into a great sounding harmonica microphone.
The cable is 6' long and connects via 1/4" plug.
It has some pitting on the side, but the rest is very nice looking.
$125.00 includes express mailing via USPS.
