A list of puns related to "Cornet"
Cornet has been looking great as of late, and that match point lob was amazing. To be honest I'm surprised Andreescu even played Wimbledon...I felt like some of her slips were going to put her into early retirement, but luckily both players came away uninjured. I guess it would be inane any player's mind to skip Wimbledon after not having a choice last year...
I saw this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackMetal/comments/31y6ph/any_bands_with_trumpet_trombone_flute_or_recorder/
And also this great post on Bandcamp: https://daily.bandcamp.com/lists/metal-bands-who-use-brass-and-woodwinds
I'm looking for bands/tracks/albums with brass as a main instrument.
Think darkjazz-flavored black metal.
This is kind of a weird request I think.
The background: I recently got an old cornet with a no-name mouthpiece. I also have a beat-to-hell Bach student model trumpet (I play these for fun; not my primary instrument). After a few weeks playing the cornet exclusively, I pciked up the trumpet and found I sounded much better. Playing was also much easier. The mouthpiece is a Yamaha 14f4, which I googled and it turns out is either a mellopohone or flugel mouthpiece (I'm not sure which this one is but it fits fine in the trumpet). I'd like to get something similar for the cornet.
So, is there a cornet mouthpiece with dimensions similar to the Yamaha 14f4? If so, what is it?
Thanks!
De cativa ani parca au disparut toate, in alte orase e plin, la noi au fost interzise sau wtf?
Submit one meter report per type of EMF. For example, submit a meter report for AC magnetic field. Submit a separate meter report for AC electric field. Submit a separate meter for radiofrequency. OK to submit just one type.
Most reddit do not know there are two types of magnetic field: AC and DC. Describe the magnetic field as AC. Tri meters do not measure DC magnetic field. If you do not describe the magnetic field, you meter report will not be approved.
Identify the meter and cite the manufacturer's specifications.
Include the unit of measurement in your written meter report.
Since Redditors have not change their camera setting to macro to take videos or photographs of just the screen, videos and photographs of tri meters have been illegible. Do not submit them. Write a report. Or switch to a meter app. Screenshots of meter apps are always legible and have both the numeric measurement and unit of measurement.
Take measurements where prior meter reports have reported high levels. For AC electric and AC magnetic, hold meter an inch from your electric panel, ground rod, computer power adapter, computer, etc.
These instructions does not imply an endorsement of tri meters. If you do not already own one, do not buy one.

I have this DEG alto cornet that has developed a buzz in it when I'm playing from d to f at the top of the staff.
I've checked and checked and rechecked all the braces, and everything is soldered tight. All the valve caps and bottom caps are tight, and both spit valves are new cork and fully sealed. There are no loose parts that I can find anywhere. All the slides are in place and I've felt all around the outside while playing and I just can't feel any sort of air leakage or odd vibration.
It's driving me bonkers and I'm at the point where I want to find a stethoscope and try to find the buzz while I'm playing. Any ideas of other things to check?
I'm not talking about the physical differences.
It might be best, though, to start with where this question is coming from.
I just ordered a new, spiral-bound copy of Arban's and (finally) read his preface. In it he talks about the events of his lifetime where the cornet went from being fairly new to an in-demand instrument (in (large?) part due to his work).
While looking up some more information, I came upon a quote from him about how the popularity of the cornet was overshadowing the trumpet:
>"It is a fact that today hardly anybody plays the trumpet any more and that the provincial theaters โ and even those in Paris โ no longer have artists playing this instrument... it is generally known that one can be an excellent trumpeter and yet starve to death, whilst everybody can live comfortably by playing the cornet..."
When I saw people in college playing a cornet I never thought of them as drastically different from a trumpet (even though a lot of music had trumpet AND coronet parts). In fact, the cornet players were all part of the trumpet section.
So, this is probably a question our of ignorance and/or a historical question, but what is the difference between a trumpet and cornet?
And why was the cornet at one time more popular than the trumpet?
There has to be at least ONE existing score for it, I refuse to believe there isn't one. But I've been searching for a lot of time and I haven't been able to find anything. I was looking for a piano score specifically, and while I was rewatching episode 5 of the first season I noticed there is a frame where you can see a little bit of Arisa's sheet.
So does anyone know if I can find a piano score for it? Am I reaching too far?
