A list of puns related to "Child's Play"
So when my husband and I were looking at houses we found this great one with a pool in the backyard. Normally it would have been out of our price range, but this one was a great deal. The reason why was because one of the neighbors children had drowned in the pool last summer.
I know itβs really morbid, but my husband and I discussed it and we decided we could look past it. I mean we could never otherwise afford anything like it. It was big enough that all our kids could finally have their own bedrooms.
When we had moved in the pool was empty and we didnβt see the point in filling it since at the time it was too cold out to go swimming anyway. Since itβs getting hot out now we decided to finally fill it last week. Our kids had a great time swimming and were having fun laughing and playing games.
Later though husband was confronted by our neighbor (the one whose kid died) saying that the sounds of kids playing in the pool was traumatizing to his family and that we were horrible for letting our kids play in that pool after what happened.
Since then weβve learned from an online post that several other people in the neighborhood similarly feel that we are being insensitive by letting out kids play in the pool. Many of them thinking that the right thing to do would have been to get rid of the pool or fill it up.
Even considering it all though we donβt want to get rid of our pool. We never had a pool before, but now weβre really enjoying it and our kids do too.
Other info:
Weβve noticed a lot of comments are telling us to put in a fence. We already have a tall fence that is completely solid (not see through) and we always keep the gate locked.
Also the child in question died while swimming during a pool party.
So thatβs going to be all for us and weβre going to sign off now. Sorry we didnβt read them all, but thanks for all your comments.
Five times each year Comex futures enters a period of drama as the large contracts (January, May, July, September and December) approach first notice day. It is a display of the paper charade that Comex silver and gold markets are. With only a few weeks to first notice day there are 5 or 6 times as many contracts open as the entire metal available for delivery as registered stocks. And just because it is in the vault doesnβt mean the shorts hold title to the bars, so the key ratio is likely far higher than 5 or 6.
The drama plays out over 3 weeks as many traders either roll their position to a forward month or close their position. Only a fraction stand for delivery. With only a week to go, there are still typically about 3 times as many open contracts as metal in the vault.
This must be a stressful situation for those short silver or whose goal is to βtamp downβ precious metals markets. The metals βTamp Down Team" is a fully owned subsidiary of the βPlunge Protection Teamβ.
Letβs digress to routine day to day trading in the futures market. JP Morgan was found by the CFTC to be a criminal enterprise from their spoofing operation. From Reuters:

My son is 2 years 4 months. I also have a 9 month old. Iβm a SAHM, and some days, I take them to the playground. I usually tend to hang back at the edge and just watch him play. I donβt really interfere unless he needs help or is about to do something dangerous. Heβs pretty independent and kind of just likes to do his own thing.
Iβve noticed though that a ton of parents seem to hover over their kids on the playground. They follow them everywhere and when they see my kid, they kind of look around for who is with him. I understand keeping right behind a very young toddler, but does anyone else just kind of let their 2+ year old go?
I sometimes feel like Iβm being the irresponsible parent, but I want to give him space and I also have the baby to take care of. Anyone else?
Very interesting movie. Definitely enjoyed every second of it. Felt bad for the mum's friend(she seemed like such a good friend to her) Also very satisfactory. I love a definite ending although many horror movies don't have that. I liked Andy. Brave lil boy. How'd the doll even have that much strength? They were weak as hell!!!π Overall great movie. (I just started the chucky franchise)
I am genuinely curious about this and have been for most of my life. I am not a God denier trying to prove the non-existence of God, but trying to understand why God is portrayed as he is. Most western religions explain God as all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving. God is not all-powerful if he can not change this, he is not all-loving if he lets this happen to innocent people, and if he does not know this is happening he is not all-knowing. I believe he is not all powerful and has a set of βrulesβ he has to play by like the rest of us. Because of certain experiences in my life, I know there is a God, and I believe he is a loving God. However, also because of experiences in my life, I think he is not all-powerful and is bound by a set of rules he can not change. We only advance through struggle, if he is all-loving and all-powerful he would have set up a better way for us to grow. So, he can not change that despite being all-loving, we have to grow through struggle and anguish. Change my mind by letting me know why or how he is all of these.
Edit: this picture basically sums up my CMV

Sigh. I had a whole post and then I accidentally hit the back button on my phone. Fml lmao.
I'll just sum it all up. On mobile, don't steal my shit, feel free to read previous posts to get some details on some of the back story here.
JNMIL, in Husband's words, doesn't understand how to be a grandparent. She had this fantasy of being a second mother to our child. She wanted her own nursery, planned to have him all day every day, and pretty much partake in all the "fun" parts of parenting while Husband and I are here to take care of all the chores and diaper changes. We shattered a majority of that fantasy for her and she did not take to it well, later having a mental breakdown because we weren't inviting her over every weekend. She even got a custom Cabbage Patch doll modeled after our child with his name embroidered on it. It was disguised as a present she "took away" from us for being oh-so-mean when we wouldn't let her boundary stomp. The doll is there for JNMIL to hug and cuddle when she misses our baby. Creepy as hell.
Typical crazy JNMIL antics were also shut down.
Recently, JNMIL told Husband her dream experience as a grandma were ruined because of the pandemic. She never got to see Baby, hold him, or partake in all his milestones. She wanted to be first to see them.
we (well, I reluctantly) have an open door for her and JNFIL to visit if they just ask. Video call whenever Husband is off work, as I refuse to give my contact information.
JNMIL and JNFIL have refused to see Baby themselves after boundary stomping the hell out of their first few visits. They must be prompted or otherwise given permission to do as they please. Lol. Nope!
Shove off, milestones are for the parents! Husband send photos or videos of major milestones, but they were deemed not good enough because JNMIL wasn't there to witness it.
Summing up the rest, JNMIL has had some questionable behaviors. She clearly wants to be an additional mother/take my place and has begun to hate me. I have really stepped up my own boundary game since Baby arrived, so I've been pinpointed the evil DIL for it.
With the pandemic beginning to cease to exist, I'm not real enthused about the future battles we will be enduring. My child will not be a do-over baby just because JNMIL lost control over her husband and kids. Husband is growing very tired of the battles lasting months and how he has to deal with most of the flak. Consequences will be coming into play, I hope. Otherwise,

I had a very intense session with my therapist today where I am starting to look at trauma that happened to me at a very young age. Most of my memories as a child are of me playing alone. Just me playing with toys by myself. When I said that to my therapist, he instantly replied, "That's neglect." That shocked me. Not spending time with your child and just leaving them to play by themselves for hours and hours is neglect.
Nparents gaslighted the fuck out of me about it for my entire life. They would say things like "You were just a shy boy who was scared of other people." or "You were an anxious child." or "You never wanted to be with anyone else because mommy and daddy were your best friends." THAT is not fucking normal. That is extreme neglect. They kept me in their house 24/7 and almost never let me socialize with other kids. I can't emphasize enough how terrifying it was to live in that house. I don't remember a lot of things that happened there which also scares me, but I am determined to learn about what happened to me. It turns out that it's not normal to make your child terrified of the outside world and keep them in a tiny bubble. There were so many signs that I was being horrifically abused but apparently no one fucking cared.
I let my 6 year old run around and kill Haldyn for me. The whole time internally screaming βstop search that chest check that barrel search the body no we donβt need a steel sword follow the arrow no we just came that wayβ I went back after she got him and searched everything but thought it was funny
My fiancΓ© is almost constantly playing games and when i ask him to spend time with me and our son or ask him to step away for a bit because heβs been there for most of the day he says βiβm an adult i can do what i wantβ or he just completely disagrees with me. Now his habit does not get in the way of him being an amazing father to our child but it does sometimes make me feel like iβm not being prioritized. gaming is one of his only hobbies so i donβt want to take that away from him at all but i just feel like he doesnβt make a point to spend time with me anymore. how should i deal with this and what can i say to get through to him .
The children's dad lets them play unsupervised in the unfenced front yard alone. They're 2 and 4. Not a cul de sac and not a particularly nice neighborhood, but not bad.
Thoughts? Backyard is not an option and he does it because he's "working". To me this is absolutely irresponsible and unacceptable.
I'd like to hear anecdotes from you about how old your children were when you felt comfortable letting them play outside alone.
Thanks
