Started having a new issue recently with dead battery. First time was immediately after I shut the vehicle off at a gas station. When I turned the key nothing happened and all power was gone. I got a jump and everything was back to normal. Battery power on dash stated it was charged.
Second time the vehicle was in the garage and I had no power. I figured it was a bad battery so I took a multimeter to it and it lit up and read 12v. I then followed the wire to the fuse box and I had power. I tried to start the car again and it worked.
Today, same issue but this time I checked the fuse box power first. No power. I then checked the battery and there was power. I went back to fuse box and I had power and the car started just fine.
What could be causing this issue? Why does checking the battery with meter provide power back to the vehicle?
