A list of puns related to "Burgundy Wine"
My palette is finally opening up to the idea of Pinot from Burgundy but I have no clue what to try to learn more about what I like and why.
The two bottles I have enjoyed so far are
Domaine A. & P. de Villaine Bourgogne Cote Chalonnaise La Digoine & Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanee
Sadly, I donβt have notes as to why I like them. So I know Iβm not giving a ton to work with and overall Iβm pretty ignorant about burgundy as a whole.
Looking for recommendations on more bottles to try and how/why it reflects something special about the region
Price tiers $20 - $40 $40 - $60 $60 - $150 (celebration)
Regarding access to wine and pricing, I live in New York
Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm in love with my Zalto Burgundy glass and use it for EVERY wine I drink - is that considered a deadly sin, and will it diminish the nuances of some wine types? Or can I just go for it every time?
Thanks a lot!
Actually asking for a friend who lives in Denver. He and his partner have an affinity for Burgundy. They are looking for a shop/resource in the metro area or Boulder, with whom they can develop an ongoing relationship with who have a deep understanding of the region. They order wines from the Cooks Atelier in Beaune and have been treated to some amazing small producers but they want to find someone/shop local as well. Thanks in advance!
Note - I'm reposting this from a comment I made a few weeks ago. I thought it would be useful to move to its own post.
> Burgundy is not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of effort and research to know the producers, the Appellations, and to stomach the prices. Good appellations from good producers can produce lackluster wines (though rarely), but when everything comes together it has no rival.
First - some level setting on cost:
What to expect when you visit:
Wife and I are heading to France for 2 weeks next year. Part of the trip we wish to taste wine in Burgundy for 4 days (2 travel days 2 tasting days) and I had some questions. I have completed multiple trips to American Wine Country (Napa, Sonoma, Oregon, ect) and I've read that tasting in Burgundy is very different then in America. Our original plan was to go through the travel agency we are working with for the rest of the trip but after review and discussion with the agency, it may sound like a better option to rent our own car and do tastings on our own.
So, questions
How does one go about setting up tastings?
Any advice?
Any recommendations?
I am specially interested in exploring wines from Volnay & Pommard.
We are more focused on wine than sight seeing, we have 2 full weeks including some time to explore the Burgundy area.
Thanks!

I reached out to a bunch of US distributors for a 2019 Anne Gros Richebourg.
Found it for $700. Already purchased but not shipped.
I'm importing wine from France this fall and found it for $450 from a cellar there. Wasn't able to get it directly from Anne Gros.
Do I double down and get another bottle or two?
I feel it would be in poor form to ask for a refund.
I'm debating using the rest of my 2021 wine budget (~$3600) to purchase 61 bottles of the 2019 vintage from Domaine Michel Gros, and am wondering what mistakes people think I would be making by doing so.
I love his wines, and visited his domain on my honeymoon after my wedding in 2019. I think these bottles would be special to me as that is my anniversary year. By ordering directly from the producer I'm estimating that I would save about $2k vs. if I tried to source this in the US (and due to his importers/distributors, this would require shipping to my state). This would all be sent in one shipment (and I've factored the cost of shipping into my assessment). I'm currently highly concentrated in Burgundy (which I love), and supplement my wine cellar with daily drinkers (that I don't enter in Cellar Tracker) to allow these to age. I have enough storage to accommodate (but will be adding off-site storage in 2 years already as part of my strategy).
Pros:
Cons:
Is this crazy to do, or am I taking advantage of a good deal on something meaningful to me?
> By Classification, I would be adding the following bottles (I'm limited to 1 GC from the Domaine): > > > Classification | # of Bottles | % > ---|----|---- > Bourgogne | 18 | 30% > Village | 30 | 49% > Premier Cru | 12 | 20% > Grand Cru | 1 | 2% > Total | 61 | 100% > > > This would bring my total Burgundy holdings to the following: > > > Classification | # of Bottles | % | % Change > ---|----|----|---- > Bourgogne | 34 | 23% | 25% > Village | 59 | 40% | 20% > Premier Cru | 36
