A list of puns related to "Brake Pad"
UPDATE: Apologies for not coming back sooner, I got the flu and was wiped out until yesterday evening. Today I felt a bit better and remembered I'd posted, whoops.. again sorry. THANK YOU to everyone who shared your opinion and advice. I will call my mechanic in advance as I've mentioned a few times and ask and see how I go. This community was so helpful to me with all comments, both pros/cons/positives/negative one's, and I appreciate you all so much. Thank you.

UPDATE: BLOODY HELL YOU LOT ARE AWESOME!! Thanks so much for putting my anxiety at ease! I will call my mechanic and ask him (I'll also be accepting that he will probably not give me warranty considering I bought them which is understandable). Fingers crossed he says yes! If not, I'll recalculate my expenses and get more serious about buying and building my own set of tools :)
Will reply tomorrow, well I mean later today to your comments since it's 2am here! But I wanted to just add some points
Talk later. Oh, and goodnight or morning I should say!

I'd pay for disposal of old parts too.
I already have the new parts and then I realized the tools I needed to do this myself were expensive and I don't want to purchase something I only need once or twice a year. Plus I'm still at uni and live in a sharehouse so I don't want to have extra car tools in my tiny room.
But I also don't want to be rude because I really like my mechanic (he's super trustworthy and is fantastic) and I don
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi I am getting my car serviced and my brake pad were worn out so getting them replaced. Looks like the dealership is quoting me $1326 for front brake pads replacement.
Here's a detailed breakdown:

Please suggest if this is reasonable or too much? Thanks a lot
Was quoted $970 for all new brake pads on 2008 Toyota Highlander this morning at my local JiffyLube. He literally just said βall your brakes need doneβ and that they were metal to metal.
UPDATE: Local shop that my parents have used for years quoted me $964 for front and back brakes (pads, Rotors, etc) and a flush.
I changed my front brake pads at a bike shop (organic pads, the rotor is "resin only") and the rotor was also cleaned.
The pads were bedded at the shop and they worked pretty well, but when the brakes got cold again (after a few days when I took the bike for a ride) they had no braking power.
Here is what I noticed while riding: -The brakes before a ride have NO braking power and they vibrate a lot. -After a few agressive brakes (going from 50 to 20 kph on a slope with only the front brakes in action) they gradualy stop vibrating and start braking very good. -Even if they get cold, they keep their braking power the whole day, but the next day they get "reset" and I need to repeat the whole process to make them work again.
Alright, I don't know where to search for my answers so I've resorted to reddit. Heres whats going down, I thought my old rear brake pads were worn out because I could never get as much braking force like months ago. So, I recently replaced my rear brake pads with new ones and I still can't seem to get as much braking force as I got months ago.
I used to be a able to completely lock up the rear wheel with my brake, now its practically impossible. I've checked my brake fluid and my brakes dont feel mushy at all. There are no squeaking sounds when I brake and I'm basically at a lost. Is it possible it has something to do with my brake disk itself?
Any comments would be helpful

EDIT:
I will post an edit on this thread after a week or when the problem goes away once my brake pads have embeded with the rotor. As suggested by many in the comments. I really appreciate it
Also, here are some additional points if anybody was wondering:
Still perplexed by this weird problem π
Hello, I am currently losing my sanity over this brake job. I have a 2005 Corolla (no ABS) and I changed the front disc pads and the rear drums/shoes. Starting at that point the brake pedal became very soft. It goes to the floor with little resistance. I thought possibly air got in the system so I bled, then possibly the master cylinder flipped a seal. So I installed a brand new MC and bled the system again using the 2 person method and still no change. Finally I clamped the brake hoses and the pedal was rock hard and unclamped one by one and it was the front two brakes when I unclamped either that the system became soft and pedal would go to the floor. So I tried new calipers as well and bled 2 person method followed by gravity bleeding and still the pedal feels awful. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
When changing the brake pads will u have to bleed the brakes? Because my dad says I do have to bleed them and i have seen some people saying you donβt have to so I would like to know if I do or not since if I donβt Iβll just change them myself
Also I have a 1998 vt Calais if that adds any information
Is that legit or they trying to rip me off ??
I got my rotors/pads replaced out of a limited warranty. I have a 2017 BRZ with the Performance package 34k miles. is it normal that Brembo's will squeal when slowing down at around 5-15mph? The dealership can't seem to figure out why it's squealing. I found some forums where brake squeals are normal for Brembo. just wondering if that's true before I start looking for better pads myself to replace the one that was replaced cuz I'm sure it's some cheap pad they used.
For a BMW 1 Series 116d F20 of 2018, which of Pagid or Textar brake pads are recommended?
Should I take it to the mechanics? Would it be cheaper to order the parts ? How dangerous if I do keep driving?
