A list of puns related to "Baroque Guitar"
Shameless self plug here, but I recorded an album of baroque guitar music which, im fairly certain, has never been recorded before. The amount of baroque guitar music thats never been recorded, and therefore never heard by most people, is huuge and I wanna help change that.
It's the first time I've attempted such a recording so the quality might not be that fantastic but im going to try and improve that with the next recording. The music is of Dutch guitarist Francois LeCocq, check it out here if you're interested:

I've been working on Bachs fugue in bwv 1,000, bouree in E minor and one of scarlattis guitar sonatas and I find if incredibly fun to play in this style, is there any other pieces I should be learing?
Does anybody know of any guitar models by any guitar makers which are modern 6 string classical except that itβs body shape is small and ideally much narrower than the standard size and shape?
Apart from wanting a sound that possibly could resemble the sound of the baroque guitar I want to eventually buy one because I think for me it would be more comfortable to hold and play. I have a weird body shape and joint problems due to many health issues which I donβt want to list , so when I hold a normal size guitar my right shoulder hurts because I have to raise it. Either that or I have to lower the guitar very low to straighten the shoulder.
I am aware if the 1/2 size nylon string guitars and I hope that is more comfortable, except they are proportionally small, and will have a narrower fret space for the fingers. For me the neck side of the guitar isnβt an issue. Ideally Iβd like that to remain the same proportion as the full size classical.
I doubts guitar I am describing is likely to exist somewhere but maybe you know of any like that?
I would even ignore the poor sound quality, low volume, or other construction issues. At this point it is to practice at home.
Alternatively, if any of you know of a technique to make the right shoulder feel better, let me know, please.
The first 6 string guitar without courses was invented in 1779 to my knowledge. Things donβt just disappear when something new comes along. Until when was the traditional 5 course guitar in common use? Would it have been what was played in colonial America?
I just ordered one and wanna make sure I can restring it when the time comes.
If you're looking for new baroque pieces to play (from beginner to intermediate level) I've made transcriptions of works by Bach, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, Telemann, Baron and others.

My aim is to make transcriptions of works that have not been transcribed for guitar in the past, or at least that are not played that often in the classical guitar.
I hope you'll find the scores useful, if you do please consider donating! I'll be adding more scores regularly so check the website often!

A playlist for those who want to start on the baroque guitar arrangments for six strings. With the main precursors like Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, and more...it is a playlist that will be constantly updated, im free to take suggestions. As most of us know, in those days they didnt know guitars as we know them now, so each and every one of the pieces are arrangements for our instrument. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1CuJxWIf9JOeRxeOv3RUUX?si=hGpY80OgSR2DK6stKmcYsQ
I love the songs on this period! I'm looking for new recommendations
So composers werenβt fans of writing what instrument belongs in basso continuo always so how can you determine when something like a guitar or theorbo fits if itβs not mentioned. Letβs say a sonata or concerto by Corelli. He doesnβt really mentions the instruments for the basso continuo but I often hear organs, guitars and theorbos in recordings. Is there any pdfβs,books or manuscripts on this or would you have any advice?
Iβve always played baroque guitar without nails near the bridge but now I want to play near the Rose and with nails. How do you suggest I cut them or play with them as courses are different than single strings?
Iβm talking people like Granata,Carbionchi,Santa Cruz ect that are lesser known.
Middle price : 20-40$ per set.
