A list of puns related to "Avena Sativa"
Hi - from what i can gather there shouldnt be interactions here but i thought id ask if anyone has experience? thanks.
Every guide I find online is how to grow it for your cats as a treat, but mentions that the plants will die in a few months time and require replanting. The seeds have to come from somewhere though, right? How would I go about growing a seed-bearing avena sativa plant?
Wild green oat extract has a dual activity profile on Monoamine Oxidase B and Phosphodiesterase 4, two CNS (Central Nervous System) enzymes closely linked to mental health. Here are some studies:
Ingested oat herb extract (Avena sativa) changes EEG spectral frequencies in healthy subjects.
> These changes suggest that oat herb extract might be effective in healthy subjects, resulting in a positive impact on cognitive performance.
> These results confirm the acute cognitive effects of GOE seen in previous research, and suggest that the optimal dose lies at or below 800 mg.
> WGOE supplementation can improve vasodilator function in systemic and cerebral arteries, suggesting a potential role in the maintenance of cardiovascular health.
Acute Effects of an Avena sativa Herb Extract on Responses to the Stroop Color–Word Test
> Taking 1600 mg of oat herb extract may acutely improve attention and concentration and the ability to maintain task focus in older adults with differing levels of cognitive status.
> Changes in evoked short term brain activity during the performance of the concentration stress test showed that Neuravena® significantly increases delta and theta wave activity in the brain regions closely connected to mental performance. The abovementioned changes confirm the positive effects of Neuravena® on cognitive function and are in line with the extract mediating stimulating properties. The intake of Neuravena® helps increase overall mental fitness in an individual’s daily life. Moreover, it has been shown to help improve cognitive function (concentration, learning, alertness) under pressure.

I will be taking the Avena Sativa with Boron (9mg a day) to try and maximize the SHBG effects that Avena Sativa supposedly has. The extract is 10:1. Is there anything else I should take along with these 2? I have a few bottles of Tribulus and Chrysin,would that be a wise addition?
As for the Ashwaganda,I made a mistake and did not buy the KSM-66 variety unfortunately. The product I bought has this on the label (Withania somnifera) (roots) [standardized for minimum 1.5% total withanolides (6.75 mg) ).
Is there any other adaptogens worth stacking with the Ashwaganda? I have some red Korean ginseng I could try with it.
Thanks for any tips or advice.

Oraface SG Facewash {Derm recommended}
Usage: 1 year + {not using currently}
Active ingredients: Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Tranexamic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide, Vitamin A.
Brief review: Its is a foaming facewash with a good active ingredient list, helped my breakout considerably when I started using this and it did not react to any active serums that i used post cleansing. I used this in the AM. Doesn’t react with tret creams. Loved using this although fragrance can be a downside.

Ahaglow S Foaming Facewash {self bought}
Usage: 2 months {currently using in the AM}
Active Ingredients: Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid
Brief review: Bought this because i was tired of purchasing 50ml small bottles of foaming facewash since this was available in a 100ml pack. The ingredients are ok. Not as good as oraface. The pump is wasteful and more product is wasted than used. Didn’t cause breakouts. Decent face wash.

Cetaphil oily skin facewash {self bought}
Usage: 2 years + {currently using in the PM}
Brief review: Absolutely in love with this product. Holygrail face wash, can always rely on this face wash. I first started using this when I first started breaking out and this delivered well. I still use it in the PM only to avoid actives overload.
>WRP. Holy grail.
Toners
Simple kind to skin toner {self bought}
Usage: 4 months {not using currently}
Active Ingredients: Niacinamide, witch hazel
Brief review: Decent, beginner friendly toner. I loved using it and so did my friends after purchasing it on my recommendation. The witch hazel was the right amount so it did not strip off my skin. It also had some moisturising ingredients because my face did feel supple after use. Although since the production has begun in India and someone said the quality of the moisturiser has deteriorated so did not repurchase.

... keep reading on reddit ➡I've been looking for a new moisturizer for a while now (my current one isn't moisturizing enough, TO Moisturizing Factors for anyone wondering) and this moisturizer by Skingredients keeps calling to me but it's a LOT of money compared to TO. It's their Skin Good Fats moisturizer and can be found here if anyone's interested. Here is the ingredient list:
Aqua (Water), Glycerin [1], Ethylhexyl Palmitate [2], Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride [3], Butylene Glycol [4], Myristyl Myristate [5], Cetearyl Alcohol [5], Glyceryl Stearate [6], PEG-100 Stearate [6], Shea Butter Glycerides [3], Vitis Vinifera (Grape)Seed Oil [3], Ceramide NP [3], Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract [7], Niacinamide [8], Tocopheryl Acetate [9], Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract [10], Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Extract [11], Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer [5], Phenoxyethanol [12], Caprylyl Glycol [12], Disodium EDTA [13], Ethylhexylglycerin [12], Hexylene Glycol [4], Sodium Hydroxide [14], Potassium Sorbate [12], Sodium Benzoate [12], Citric Acid [14], Sodium Sulfite [12].
It does look good, I like to see ingredients like glycerin, shea butter, oats, vitamin e, niacinamide and ceramide np in a moisturizer - but is it worth it? It's 55 euro for a 45 ml container. They do refills also. Does one need to spend this much on a moisturizer or is there something else on the market that I'm overlooking? Ideally cruelty free (but if you have a non cruelty free rec please let me know because I can then go search for a cruelty free alternative).
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
A while back I posted asking for help with fragrance free shampoo options. I wanted to post for anyone else that might be looking that there is finally a really good looking option in Canada.
Flexitol Scalp Relief Shampoo + Conditioner (I found it at Rexal)
-no fragrance, contains Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour (skin soothing, like Aveeno), Allantoin (also soothing), and an interesting compound called Piroctone Olamine that treats fungal issues like SD and dandruff.
For managing scalp issues I also found:
Psoriasin. Available either as a 3% SA shampoo, or a SA + ZINC shampoo. (I buy it at Shoppers)
-The zinc combo option does have plant extracts
-the SA one does not, and only has 7 ingredients! Chef's kiss.
I hope this helps others looking for fragrance free options. If anyone could ever find a classic can of hairspray that truly contains no masking fragrance I would be forever grateful.
Cheers
EDIT: Where were ya'll when I asked months ago for suggestions. : P
I'm looking in to these two substances for the following reasons:
So after trying lots of dopaminergic supplements (Avena Sativa, Macuna Pruriens, Muiri Puama, Limonene, Uridine, Ginseng, Gingko) with little success, I've decided to try either 9-Me-BC or Bromantane before I go and self-medicate with dopamine agonists (which I'd like to avoid doing really).
I'm leaning towards 9-Me-BC; appears to be a MAO-i & the anecdotes seem to favour it in reversing anhedonia and a few reports suggest that it can have a decent effect on libido (which would be amazing because my relationship isn't exactly great in this department atm which is adding to my mental health woes). So I'd appreciate it if anybody could chime in on the following questions
#disclaimer : I am not an expert, take eczema seriously especially if it's worsening and go to a reputed dermatologist.
This is just to help you take care of your own self.
ps : don't ask me about my steroid meds, I'll just refer them as steroids. I don't wanna put someone's life in danger.
Hi, I have been dealing with eczema for the last 3-4 years. I went to countless doctors and they always gave me some steroids and never explained what my disease was. I had terrible experience over all. Almost lost my eyes to glaucoma and would have been diabetic now if it wasn't my lifelong healthy diet and work out.
Don't get me wrong, steroids are amazing and super efficient. But you should not rely on them always. Prolonged usage for over 2 weeks weakens their efficiency followed by tons of medical issues.
Things that helped me to supress next flare ups are :
#Tip 1
Moisturizing when it itches, moisturizing when it doesn't.
Using a properly formulated moisturizer that has Occulsives and emollients have helped me tremendously. I regularly use my moisturizer and whenever I feel my skin is itching, I apply moisturizer to the spot immediately.
#Tip 2
Controlling the urge to scratch
So easy to say, I know and I'm guilty of breaking my own words many times. But I have become more resilient and more aware of what's just a few seconds of irritation and what's early symptoms of eczema. I cut my nails very small so that I can't scratch. (I scratched in sleep many times). This helps. Also taking anti histamines when it's too hard.
#Tip 3
Looking out for allergens.
You should consult an allergist first to get tested. Chances are, things that are nearby you are causing the flare ups. Dusts and pollens are the most common allergens. Even aside from that, food can also trigger eczema and so can metals like nickel and fragrances in products as well as any other ingredients. (say goodbye to experimenting skincare products if you have sensitive skin/eczema).
My eczema flare ups only due to food (that's what I tested so far on my own). There's no good allergist in my place and I can't travel rn so I'm stuck with this. If you're like me, you can try this method I did or just skip to tip #4.
#Tip 3.5
Cut out everything that is a common allergen in people with eczema. Like fishes, diary products, meat, soy etc. Stay away from dust and moisturizer your skin regularly meanwhile. Stop using any type of make up, nail polishes and fragranced pr
... keep reading on reddit ➡I've heard great things about the serum (and I was gifted a bottle) and I'd like to incorporate it into my skincare routine. Thing is, in the morning I use TO Glycolic Acid and at night I use the Differin (adapalene .1%). I know there are some ingredients/actives that you can't mix with retinols or AHA. I looked up the ingredients of the Byroe Tomato Serum, but I'm not super knowledgeable in the ingredient names for things like Vitamin C, etc. This is a long shot, but does anyone know if I could use the Tomato Serum after either the glycolic acid or Differin without causing a negative reaction? I've included the ingredient list here from the Byroe website if it helps:

I’ve always had sensitive skin which was further sensitized/barrier-compromised this past year because I FOMO’ed way too hard way too quickly into a full-on 10-step routine. My derm was not happy lol. She stripped my routine down to the basics of cleanser/moisturizer/sunscreen. Specifically, she also switched out my regular moisturizer for this one because it has colloidal oatmeal (https://democracyskin.com/collections/facial-moisturizers/products/aveil-creme-avoine) and apparently that’s supposed to be super anti-inflammatory. It fixed my face like a fkn fairy godmother. I’ve never been an ingredients-person per se but guys, now I’m just like, let’s not even call this oatmeal, it’s more like G.O.A.T.meal
EDITS: Adding more details to keep with review guidelines
Skin type/conditions: Combo (oily in the summers/dry in the winters) with sensitivity/barrier-compromise. Acne scars/dark spots/hyperpigmentation.
Climactic conditions: Hot semi-arid summers, cold and dry winters (so temperatures fluctuate but mostly dry throughout the year except during the monsoon)
AM routine: JUICE TO CLEANSE Biome Ac Foam Cleanser, AVEIL Creme Avoine, LAKME Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF 40 Pa+++ Compact
PM routine: DERMALOGICA PreCleanse Emulsifier, AVEIL Creme Avoine
Age: 25 - 34 years old
Usage timeline: 2x a day, for 1 month
Ingredient list: Aqua, Glycerol, Shea Butter Ethyl Esters, Octyl Stearate, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol & Ceteareth-20, Polyglyceryl-6 Distearate (and) Jojoba Esters (and) Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax (and) Cetyl Alcohol, Myristyl Myristate, Squalane, Caprylhydroxamic Acid (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance
Status: Holy Grail
Texture: On the spectrum of lotion to moisturizer, lotion being light and moisturizer being fuller, this definitely leans toward the moisturizer side. But I wouldn't call it "heavy". It's pillowy almost instead of being watery. And it absorbs super quick. In general, I'd recommend it as a nighttime moisturizer or if you've got normal to dry skin or if it's cold and dry out

So here it goes, I was eyeing the cleanser from a LONG CHUNGUS TIME HONESTLY! Like the time it was launched, 1.5-2 weeks I had been using this, I am absolutely in love.
I have mild-moderate back acne and thanks to periods, a hell lot of period acne. Passed the spot test, continued using it on my back and as spot treatment on stubborn pimples;
keep on for 15-30 secs, wash off, the pimple is technically ✨VANISHED.✨
Like, it just washed the whole pimple off like nothing! For my back acne, it reduced it for like 70-80%! I am legitimately head over heels for this.
Very gentle, didn't irritate the skin, completely sucks in a pimple like a dream within 1-2 days of use and didn't purge maybe because I am already using BP and Adapalene.
(Also just to clarify, sunscreen break me out so I temporarily don't apply any, will throw my hands on the Minimalist Multi Vitamin Sunscreen later!)
Also for anyone dealing with SebDerm here, fatty acids don't really flare up my acne even though its flagged on Sezia, only oils have broke out my skin, nothin' else. Again, skin is different ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I’m either going back on Moclobemide which felt like it had no dopaminergic effects or phenelzine which I’m assuming raises dopamine but the effects may be countered by concurrent rises in serotonin and especially GABA.
What can I add to these medications to enhance dopaminergic activity? I can source bupropion (although it’s very expensive), Cabergoline and I’m also open to other things such as 9-Me-BC/Bromantane but not sure if they’re contraindicated. Also any general supplements which may help (I’m aware low dose aspirin upregulates tyrosine hydroxylase). Avena Sativa (weak MAO B Inhibitor), mucuna pruriens, DLPA, Tyrosine, muiri Pauma etc all did nothing.

Review
This product is the most favourite part of my skincare because when I apply the serum at night, it always lives up to my expectation of waking up with a clean shiny skin next morning.
When I first started using the product, I built up tolerance by starting once a week, then twice, then thrice and gradually everyday (except on the nights I use a AHA BHA Peel)
I love the formulation of this serum the most because it honestly has everything which an oily, acne prone skin needs. Madelic acid is a really gentle exfoliant and since the serum has the same amt of Mandelic acid as Tranexamic which we can call it a gentle exfoliating serum too. It also a tiny amt salicylic acid which makes it an all rounder for my routine.
I’ve been using the serum along with 2% granactive Retinod from Be Minimalist. I apply the Tranexamic acid serum, wait for a couple of minutes for it to sink it, and layer it with a pea size of Granactive Retinoid. This has been advised to me by the Be Minimalist team. I top it up with moisturiser. I’m the happiest when I wake up to smoother skin.
One thing I don’t understand is no matter how flawless my skin looks in the morning, it becomes a little bumpy, oily, filled with CCs by the end of the day. Does this happen to y’all too?
I’ve definitely seen a reduction in hyperpigmentation and acne with this routine and especially the Tranexamic acid serum over past 3 months but I’ve been battling with greasy oily skin at the end of the day and formation of small CCs which go away in the morning. The Tranexamic acid serum fades my new acne marks a lot quicker than the amount of time it took me earlier to get rid of a scar. Also, I didn’t take sunscreen seriously earlier and had gro

I’m going to get my bloods tested in 2 weeks to check because my libido is fucked after phenibut abuse.
I used to use AlphaViril a year ago when I used to have erectile dysfunction issues. I didn’t have much knowledge about testosterone, was desperate and that’s the first thing I saw.
I stopped as it used to give me heart palpitations, insomnia and anxiety but damn did it boost my libido and erection quality. I had sex and I was still rock hard after ejaculation. I was also more confident, aggressive and dominant. There are claims that there is T3 and DHEA in this supplement which is not listed on the website.
There are also “blood tests” on the website in the reviews with people actually getting their test higher. I don’t know whether it’s real or not.
I’m just wondering what it would be from the ingredients that made my libido and erection quality so high and what it was that gave me sides.
I feel lifeless at the moment, I am currently in a small calorie deficit to lower my body fat %, lift and am taking Vit D3 4000 IU, and Magnesium Glycinate 400mg
The ingredients on the website are as follows:
Vitamin D3- 266 IU Zinc Picolinate- 10 mg Selenium- 66 mg Copper Oxide- 1.3 mg
Testosterone Support Optimizer™ 607 MG ???
Fenugreek Extract Avena Sativa Extract Tongkat Ali Extract Maca Root Boron
Bulgaria Pro-Tribulus™ Terrestris Extract Stinging Nettle Ginger Extract
AAKG L-Citrulline Pine Bark Extract
Horny Goat Weed KSM-66® + Sensoril® Ashwagandha extract
DIM White Button Mushroom Extract 10:1 Vitex Agnus Castus
Zinmax® Zinc Picolinate
Mucuna Pruriens Extract
Update: Never mind it’s back, just tried having sex tonight and it was great. Simultaneous orgasm. It was 2 weeks off phenibut that helped lol
I know the above moisturizer isn’t FA safe, but I was wondering- has anyone tried it? I believe Dr Dray had recommended it for FA prone people and it’s on sale in Canada rn so I wanted to give it a try, but I’m hesitant.
Anything it can be compared to?
Skintype: Extremely oily & Acne prone
Age: 21 Yrs
FormulaRX Barrier Relief Moisturiser
Review Type: Liked it but would NOT repurchase
Price: 699 for 50 g
Usage Time: around 2 month with intervals, 2-3 days a week.
Ingredients: Water, caprylic/ capric triglyceride, glycerin, niacinamide, propanediol, cetearyl alcohol, cetearyl olivate, sorbitan olivate, sodium hyaluronate, colloidal oatmeal, panthenol, allantoin, ceramide np, ceramide ap, ceramide eop, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, linoleic acid, sodium lauroyl lactylate, xanthan gum, butylene glycol, carbomer, tocopherol, phenoxyethanol, dimethicone, disodium edta, linolenic acid, ethylhexylglycerin.
Texture and consistency: It sinks right in the skin and has a gel like texture. It doesn’t feel heavy nor makes me sweat on application unlike other moisturisers make me do. I loved the fact it’s so lightweight and has the gel consistency.
Effect/ Result: to be very honest, when I first started using this moisturiser, I felt like it was breaking me out, at one point I even stopped using the moisturiser for a while because I was just upset. I loved the texture so much but had been doubting if it’s breaking me out. But later I realised it wasn’t the moisturiser, it was just my usual hormonal acne. I’ve been using it for 2 months and lately it has been working just fine.
• It has 4% niacinamide, confirmed with brand. I had thought of using it as an alternative to a niacinamide serum, but didn’t show any added visible effects.
•PROS. The thing I love the most about this moisturiser is its consistency and lightweight feature but then the fact it makes my face oily AF is a bummer :(
Cute packaging: I’m a sucker for pastel colours and aesthetics and gohd I love the tube in my skincare cabinet, looks so pretty ✨
FINAL THOUGHTS Like I’ve been mentioning again and again, I really wanted to love this moisturiser but the price point and lack of any exceptional feature wouldn’t make me purchase it again.
