A list of puns related to "Agricultural Fencing"
Introduced: Sponsor: Sen. Jerry Moran [R-KS]
This bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry which will consider it before sending it to the Senate floor for consideration.
For both work and pleasure I'm learning about my state's fence laws (a summary for the curious). I know (I think) there are some laws about agricultural fences / good neighbor laws in Judaism, but I can't seem to find the right search terms for Rav Google. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
In my own way, this might be a fun project to compare modern laws and ancient laws, especially to see if we've come to adopt what are ostensibly 'ancient' laws in the modern day.
3 pit bulls came on my property last week and within minutes, ripped the fencing off the barn, killed all the babies and quite literally ripped all the moms apart.
The moms all died within 2 days from the horrific injuries.
This has been devastating and a mental nightmare. Something I wish no one would ever have to see.
I can’t sleep, spending money for a pen to put inside of my 8 acres that is already fenced for added protection, just to keep my agriculture status. Out $4,000.00 in killed livestock Already $2,000.00 in livestock panels and post, and still have to buy more livestock.
No consequences for the owner of the 3 pit bulls, even though microchips identified the owner. That will teach him (Bell County Texas). Thanks for the service and protection!
Edit: Just wanted to add, I’m meeting with our lawyer later today, as I do plan on taking these scumbags to court. Also, I would think I could sue for psychological damages done to my children who witnessed our goats getting ripped apart and babies eaten by these beasts. They have been having nightmares for over a week now and are terrified to go outside on the farm. This has been a nightmare for us. Any advice is appreciated on how to proceed here.
My wife’s mother just inherited farm land that they are planning to build a house on. Before her grandma passed away, my wife’s uncle made a deal with the Missouri government that paid to put a fence around creeks and ditches to keep the cows out.
Is it legal for my mother in law to remove the fence?
Does this contract still hold to the people who inherited the land or was it only good for the owner of the land at the time?
Also, would the department of agriculture consider allowing removing the fence as there will be no cows to ever reach the fence again once the house it built.
Thanks in advance!
I’m located in Ohio.
My family recently moved to a home in which they are renting, without a fence. They have 3 dogs and the dogs needed somewhere to stay in the backyard without running off, so my brothers put up what is commonly called an agricultural fence, about 6 feet tall, not on anyone else’s property except what my parents are renting. About 3 days after they put up the fence, what my parents call “city representatives” came to their home and told them they need to take it down. They said the neighbors said “the fence looks like it belongs on a farm, not a suburban homes backyard”. I’m guessing more specifically the cities laws would need to be known in reference to zoning? I just have a hard time believing this is actually breaking laws because of the type of fence it is. I’d appreciate any guidance, and apologies if this comes off as ignorant. Just truly curious on the matter and trying to help my parents out if possible. Thanks all
A family dairy cow provides lots of practical benefits. Perhaps the most notable is that cows eating a grass-based diet can provide great-tasting dairy products that are more nutritious and flavorful than those you can buy in most grocery stores. Raising a family cow is a fun experience, plus it’s a great step toward self-sufficiency and food security. Surplus dairy products from the cow and meat from calves could even bring in extra income for your family. Keeping a homestead dairy cow is a big commitment though, so you’ll want to prepare carefully.
A cow produces milk in order to feed her calf. After the cow has given birth, she must be milked (or her calf allowed to nurse) at least twice daily or the milk will stop flowing. Count on about nine to 10 months of milk production, allowing the cow to rest at least two months before a new calf is born. Your daily routine will consist of feeding, milking twice a day, or milking once a day and separating the calf from the cow eight to 12 hours before you milk. You will also need to muck out the milking area frequently and move fences for rotational grazing as needed.
Feeding. A dairy cow needs two principal components in her diet to be healthy: roughage and protein. Roughage mainly consists of cellulose and can be supplied by pasture and various forms of hay. Good grass hay and grass pasture can contain sufficient protein for animal maintenance, but for a lactating dairy cow, higher protein feeds such as alfalfa hay, grass-legume pasture, or protein supplements will increase milk production. She’ll also need a mineral supplement and salt, and a lactating cow can drink up to 30 gallons of water per day, so you’ll need to provide plenty of fresh water.
In winter when the pasture is sparse, good hay — and possibly additional grain or premixed feed — will be necessary. If you can feed leafy alfalfa hay (2 to 3 pounds per 100 pounds of body weight), this will be all she needs. However, if you want to increase the cow’s milk production, feed a grain supplement in the form of chopped or ground oats, barley, corn, or wheat every day, regardless of season.
During the summer, the cow can get all the nutrients and protein she needs from grazing a lush pasture consisting of legumes and grasses. In many regions, a cow and calf will need at least an acre of good pasture. In regions with poor soil or little rain, 10 acres or more may be necessary to su

My name is Polquewl, and I am a researcher for the Institute of inter-species wars. Using a grant graciously provided to me by said institute I am researching what the humans refer to as the Ylvekol War of Annihilation. It is also known as the children's war for reasons that will be discussed.
The war started over a dispute with the human government organization known as the Central European United Front (CEUF) and the Ylvekol Collective over a planet known as Neo-Deutschland. This planet had been colonized by a member state known as Germany, but was also claimed by the Ylvekol. Things were relatively normal at the time of the disputes, with politicians discussing trade agreements and concessions to placate the Ylvekians. That was until the Ylvekians attacked without warning.
My primary source for this report and its series of events will be from a veteran named Klaus Schmitt, a former resident of Neo-Deutschland. Klaus was 9 when the war started, and 22 when it ended. Mr. Schmitt, who is now 103, lives on an agricultural world owned by the French Dominion. He currently resides in a skilled nursing facility that specializes in those who have experienced war trauma.
I greeted Mr. Schmitt in the gardens, having been led there by one of the staff. Mr. Schmitt greeted me with a firm handshake and sat with me under a large willow tree, one native to Humanity's home planet. I decided to start out with simple questions. The transcript from out first meeting is bellow.
Transcript begin
"So where were you when the Ylvekol invaded your planet?"
"Ah... I was swimming at the public pool with my family, it was my little sister's birthday. Quite the present she got..." Mr. Schmitt trailed off with a dark chuckle.
"Were they outright hostile when they first made landfall?".
"No... not entirely. We didn't have much of a military at the time, just a token peacekeeping force and law enforcement. They didn't put up a fight cause they knew it was pointless."
"So the planet fell without a fight?"
"Yes I suppose it did. Kept the bloodshed to almost nothing in the first few days at least. That was until they started their resettlements."
"Resettlements?"
"Yes, resettlements. They star

Despite his differences over the issue of prohibition with former Farmer-Labor nominee William Jennings Bryan, Hearst considered an appeasement of the still-powerful force in the party to be a necessity for party unity, and focused on their agreement in opposition to the British Empire to appoint Bryan as Secretary of State. The Pettigrew wing of the party was denied appeasement whatsoever, with Hearst viewing Eugene Debs and others as undermining his own candidacy, while the rest of the cabinet was made of Hearst allies. 46 year old Massachusetts businessman Thomas L. Hisgen was selected for the Treasury Department, with Tennessee Judge John Shields chosen for the Attorney Generalship. The fiercest Senate battle would arise over the nomination of John Temple Graves, a pro-lynching editor from Georgia, for the position of Secretary of War. With the Senate's two black members, George Henry White of North Carolina and John R. Lynch of Mississippi, leading the opposition to Graves. Nonetheless, the appointment was narrowly confirmed with the intervention of Vice President Garner on the behalf of Graves.
William Gibbs McAdoo, an ally of Hearst closely tied to Georgia Federal Republican leader Woodrow Wilson, was chosen as Secretary of the Navy in the closest Hearst came to appointing a member of the other party. James A. Reed, the independent Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri who endorsed Hearst, was chosen as Postmaster General. Alabama's controversial Governor Milford W. It involves many variables involving where you want to farm, how you want to farm, what you want to farm, and how big you want your farm to be. There are many things to consider, and even though this is a how-to guide to get you started on starting a farm, the rest is up to you.
Start off by drafting up a plan. Have a business plan, an operational plan and a strategic down on paper before you buy or start a farm.
Make an extensive estimate of the cost of your farm. You will need to figure the cost of the land, equipment, and necessary improvements that must be faced before beginning your farm operation. There isn't a set price for land, or a fixed amount of land required to begin a farming operation, so you will need to look carefully at those prices in the location you have chosen. Equipment can be very expensive, but you may have an option to buy it with dealer financing or by purchasing used equipment.
Look at your financial situation before you get too far down the path you have chosen. Farming requires an investment each year to maintain operations. Some costs are up front, like buying or renting the land, buying equipment, and funds to sustain you until you have sold crops/livestock. Other costs that are going to be faced each year are:

Let me preface by saying, I'm black myself and I WILL NOT be defending his abysmal civil rights policy where he segregated the government or contributed to the rise of the KKK. But with that being said, Wilson was a good president and is a top 15 president.
THE NEW FREEDOM
The New Freedom was a series of programs implemented by Wilson and paved the way for future progressive programs such as The New Deal, The New Frontier, The Great Society, etc. The laws include:
The Federal Farm Loan Act of 1916 provided federal credit to small farmers via cooperatives.
The Adamson Act gave railroad workers on interstate runs an eight-hour workday.
The Clayton Act strengthened antitrust regulation while exempting agricultural cooperatives and labor unions, thus putting an end to the court's habitual rulings that boycotts and strikes were “in restraint of trade.”
National War Labor Board was established, which improved working conditions in factories by insisting on an eight-hour workday, no child labor, and better safety conditions.
A law was passed fixing minimum wages for women and children in the District of Columbia (1918).
The Women's Bureau Act of 1920 established a Women's Bureau to “formulate standards and policies which shall promote the welfare of wage-earning women, improve their working conditions, increase their efficiency, and advance their opportunities for profitable employment.”
A Child Labor Tax Law (1919) assessed a 10% tax on the net profits of factories and mines employing children "to offset any competitive advantage" employers thereby gained. The legislation introduced a minimum age of 14 for workers in most jobs, and of 16 for mining and night work. The legislation also required documentary proof of age and, like the previous Keating–Owen Act, limited working hours for minors. From 1919 to 1922 (the year when the Supreme Court declared the legislation to be unconstitutional), arguably as a result of, or partly because of, this legislation, the number of working children fell by 50%.
The Civil Service Retirement System was established (1920) to provide pensions to retired civilian federal employees.
The Civilian Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1920 (Smith-Fess Act) authorized a joint federal-state vocational rehabilitation program for handicapped civilians.
The Death on the High Seas Act (1920) aimed at compensating the wives of sailors who had lost their lives at sea. The legislation enabled survivors “to recover pecuniary damage

JJ had mentioned that the grueling pace with which they grew had more to do with the poor soil quality found in the desert than with her agricultural skills, but Meadow couldn’t help but be frustrated anyways.
“What’s that?” Amber asked as she stopped sweeping sand out of their workshop to point at a figure appearing on the horizon. A lone silhouette wearing what appeared to be a cowboy hat and with something hoisted over their shoulder.
Meadow’s right index finger twitched. A fisherman always saw a fisherman from afar.

“Get your gun.” Meadow repeated again as she drew her revolver and checked its chambers. She knew it was loaded, but old habits died hard.
JJ winced and went to go fetch his rifle.
Meadow went to the fencing they had built to keep the iguanas away from their pitiful farming patch and took a knee. Amber huddled behind her, clearly unsure as to what to do with herself.
As the figure came closer, Meadow got a good look at her.
It was a slender woman with dark skin and a mohawk. She carried an oversized club over her shoulder and walked with the confident ease of someone who knew they were untouchable.

Lebanon’s dire economic situation, and the paralysis of its governing structures, trigger in many a yearning for the country that once was. The mere allusion to Lebanon coaxes a smile and a longing for the “Switzerland of the Middle East,” for Beirut, the “Paris of the Middle East.”
In fact, that Lebanon existed mostly in the imagination. The events that have unfolded since October 2019 have revealed the other, truer face of Lebanon: a corrupt and plundered state, and a sectarian regime that has led to political paralysis.
The list seems endless:
• Day after day, scandals erupt around officials and politicians who have banded together to rob the state;
• Rivers of garbage flood the cities;
• Electricity was a tool used for financial manipulation, leading to an energy crisis;
• Forty percent of Lebanese physicians and 30 percent of the country’s nurses have left for better havens;
• Druze politician Walid Jumblatt’s incredible confession that he transferred $500 million out of the country;
• A governor of Lebanon’s central bank was investigated over assets accumulated in Europe and elsewhere;
• A collapsing currency—from 8,400 Lebanese liras to the dollar at the beginning of 2021 to 30,000 Lebanese liras today;
• Erratic inflation;
• The army being forced to beg for meals and contributions from abroad, even offering helicopter sightseeing trips to beef up its operational funds.

Suffice it to say that almost a quarter of a million Lebanese have left in the first quarter of 2021, joining a growing diaspora that until now has saved Lebanon through expatriates’ money transfers. Funds transferred to Lebanon after the Aug. 4 Beirut Port explosion, which devastated a third of the capital city, have disappeared, and the reconstruction effort is stuck, with no end in sight. Lebanese citizens are forbidden to withdraw their money from national banks. They are allowed to withdraw only small sums at given times. This did not stop the outflow of six billion dollars in fewer than three months following the decision to bloc

One thing that I find that some of the more dishonest Socialists and Capitalists will do is to equate a freed market with Capitalism. What I want to try and do is challenge the debaters on this sub to see how these two concepts can actually be at odds with each other.
If you are just looking to debate I will put a tl;dr for the point of each section.
To disentangle what I mean by the title, "Capitalism" as a word does not have a single definition (similarly to how people may use "Socialism"). To clarify, Gary Chartier has done a good service to clarify this issue, so I will use his definitions moving forward (please use the distinctions in the replies):
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂
I heard it's possible to change land type by applying at the RDO.. What are the docs you should submit.? Has anyone done this yet? FYI :
