Virgin Galactic recently released key information last week about their fleet expansion. Specifically;
“Additionally, we are in advanced discussions with leading aerospace manufacturers for a strategic partnership for the production of our next generation mothership, and also in negotiations to lease a assembly facility for our Delta Class vehicle”
Which company do you think they are in talks with ?
Lease assembly facility for the Delta class? That would appear to mean that Delta class is the production version of the existing VSS Unity / VSS Imagine.
I’m wanting to break out into additive manufacturing, but I’m not sure how to gain some knowledge/skills in that area besides what I learned in uni. What do you guys think would help me land a job in that area although my experience is primarily in quality?
Virgin Galactic is looking at building a fleet of spaceships. They have the designs set but they don’t quite have the manufacturing ability to do so now. If they ramp up their own manufacturing ability to build them it would take years.
So my question is, if Virgin Galactic got another company to build them, how long will it take from design specs (done already) to spaceships rolling off the assembly line?

The following article recently released by EE Power speaks to KULR's 1/7/21 press release concerning a partnership with a Tier-1 manufacturer of aerospace and defense technologies. Dave Harden, former Chief of Strategic Prioritization at the Pentagon, joined KULR's advisory board in July last year. In this article, he states “KULR’s closed-loop core cooling technology, along with its problem-solving team, are rapidly establishing themselves as essential building blocks for hypersonics, space vehicles, long-range stand-off weapons and long loiter drones.”
Mr. Harden is working with KULR to advance the Company's thermal management technologies within the defense and commercial industries.
