In the building I run the Plant Operations for we just changed over to cooling (we’re a single system building) and after some small bad CW flow sensors we got #2 out of 3 running. Ran with no issues yesterday. Today the machine is calling for an Exhaust Purge. Ran the process twice, with no raising or bubbles of the lithium bromide. Each time before returning the necessary valves to normal the indicator clears, but after a few minutes of the purging being over my indicator appears again. Any ideas? More bad sensors? There’s no way I didn’t actually purge the machine. I followed all steps to the T. Either way, i’m putting a call into our service company. Just was wondering if there was a way to avoid that and expand my knowledge of issues that could arise.

I've been delving into the debate surrounding supplements and multivitamins lately. From what I can gather, the jury is out (and likely will be for a long time) on whether or not multivitamins can prevent diseases later in life. I have some science and biology background, so I understand the immense complexity in testing this and expect no clear answers any time soon. So forget about that question for now.

What I want to focus on is it seems like there is still debate on whether or not the nutrients in a multivitamin are even absorbed into the bloodstream. This seems like a simple enough thing to test. Couldn't blood tests show whether or not certain nutrients are being absorbed from the multivitamins? Then at least that part of the debate could be settled.

It's one of those things I feel must have been tested before, I just haven't found the right articles. If so, what did the tests show?

• I realize that just because the nutrients make it into the blood, that doesn't prove anything about efficacy of supplements in preventing disease or improving health. But it simply provides one step in the right direction.

It was instantly clear from the chart posted by u/Doomkoon4648 that VML was behaving in an impulsive manner hence my interest. I don't have any shares in this and know nothing of the FA but from a TA perspective it is following all the rules for Elliot waves.

The high of $0.09 on 16 March was the top of wave 5 of what I expect is either the intermediate or possibly primary degree which is mapped in yellow, with the next degree down mapped in blue and the smallest visible degree on this timescale being mapped in red, there will be smaller degrees if we went into the hourly or lower but I don't have time for that and its not necessary.

There is a gap on the Chart from the close on Fri Feb 12 of $0.039 to the open on Mon Feb. 15 $0.041. This represents the safest target for an entry as it is just above the 61.8% fib retracement of the whole move from 0.005 to 0.09, it is also the bottom of Wave 4, whilst this represents the safest point for entry there are no guarantees it will get there so depending on your individual appetite for risk and trading strategy the 50% Fib looks like a good spot to place an order at 0.048/0.049 this coincides with the oblique major support. Maybe save some ammo and place another order in the queue at 0.040 incase it wicks down to touch 0.039.

So those are observations what would probably be the only entry I would consider, and if I miss it then never mind.

However if you're bullish on the fundamentals, and don't want to risk missing the entry you may be willing to risk more downside.

I note the current SP is sitting at 0.053 which is top of Wave 3 ( which is also the previous wave 5 of the lower degree) there could be support here, need to watch the price action over the next few sessions, best to watch the hourly and look for a double bottom and use some indicators, CCI, MACD, RSI to look for early signs of a change in the short term momentum. grab an entry and keep a tight stop.

Keep an eye on the Volume on price to look for signs of Absorption and buyers stepping over the line.

Introduction

• Psychedelics can cause vasoconstriction which can lead to an increase in blood pressure so measurable with a blood pressure machine.
• Although you should also take into account of factors similar to white coat syndrome, i.e. just the act of measuring your blood pressure could increase it.
• When you first wake up in the morning, the recent consumption of caffeine, exercise or dehydration can also lead to a spike in blood pressure.
• A vasodilator like a magnesium supplement can help to mitigate the symptoms of vasoconstriction. If this happens every time you microdose and the magnesium helps each time, you may want to consider you have a magnesium deficiency.

Magnesium deficiency

Getting the RDA of magnesium from diet can be difficult unless you eat a lot of spinach, pumpkin seeds, almonds, ground flaxseed. Stress (activating the sympathetic nervous system) and alcohol also depletes magnesium via the act of increased urinary excretion. Piedra Del Sol drags out a portion of her Authority over the Sun and enables her to unleash solar winds that rampage over a large area. TL;DR: Used isopropyl alcohol (70%) to clean damaged cards, pretty successful except cards Khans block/commander 2013. Didn't do a lot of testing on 2015 and up.

I had a type 4 cube and a Vintage cube in storage for a few years - unfortunately I had an outbreak of mold - the cards all look fine but there was a mild smell on many of them and I'm a bit sensitive to mold even when I can't smell it.

Did quite a bit of research on restoring cards/ old books and what works, here's the summary :
UV-C Lights: about what you would expect if you decided to sun bleach your cards - it will probably kill the mold but the process is slow, and long term damage to the cards is probable, they would be fine in the short term:

Charcoal/Litter/Baking Soda/Dessicant: Not much help - the advice was to store cards with odor absorption for 4-6 weeks - it sort of helped, but didn't really do the job.

I eventually went with isopropyl alcohol (70%) and it's worked, with a *couple big caveats* I started with the type 4 cube since the cards are cheap.

1. Put a reasonable amount of alcohol onto a cotton round (a pog sized disposable wipe),
2. Remove any excess moisture from the cotton round
3. Quickly, *with low pressure*, wipe the card face and back
4. Immediately dry the card off with a car drying towel (which are designed not scratch), leaving no visible moisture.
5. place single cards out in open in an area like a table with good air circulation and let sit for a least half an hour.

Result: no visible damage or curling, mold either completely gone or very diminished .
This was done across a huge swath of older cards and foils, though nothing post-Eldritch Moon. Yes, that includes alpha, beta, collectors edition, from the vaults. They were fine! I even did some of the cards twice.

What was NOT FINE:
In a couple cases, there was visible "smutch" /dirt on the card itself, which was tempting to sort of "scrub" the card. - you can do this with a Q-tip and water, but don't do this with alcohol at least, it's almost like there's a "layer" that you just scrub off when applying pressure. Foils seem slightly more "resistant" but it's not worth it imo.

Kahns of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, Dragons of Tarkir /Commander 2013 were irreparably damaged with even a slight amount of alcohol, indicating something in the printing process changed. This did not happen with any Battle for Zendikar Block cards, they were fine.

Today’s fact of the day will focus on one specific piece of data from a very timely and important paper by Lebot, Koah, and Legendre in 2020 [1]. In this paper the authors provide evidence to support the theory that roots, chips and powders can be tested for their combined kavalactone and flavokavain content by way of passing light through their acetonic extracts for absorbance in a colorimeter.

What exactly do they mean by “acetonic extract”?

The way in which this type of test goes about indicating the presence of various chemicals in kava is by using acetone as an extraction medium. This targets the hydrophobic portions of kava such as kavalactones and flavokavains which normally don’t mix well with water. We should keep in mind here that when making kava, we’re not so much looking for kavalactones to be dissolved, as kavalactones themselves are quite difficult to dissolve in water. Kava is more of an emulsion, so while these chemicals may not be able to mix well with water, we’re pushing them out with physical force and they’re still attached to the little particles of kava that settle in our beverages. I say this in order to clarify that although acetone is used here, it doesn’t befuddle the results as what we are looking for would be present in aqueous extracts as well.

What is a flavokavain?

Flavokavains are a constituent of kava known as a “chalcone” or “flavonoid”. They’re pigments. They are found concentrated in the surface cell layers of kava and in the bark of the stump and stem. It’s thought that they play a protective role for kava, as it has been found that other flavonoids in this family often occur for protecting other plant species in the same way. Research suggests that flavokavains contribution to noble kava beverage quality is very limited [1], however it’s turning out to be a good indicator of kava quality when paired with kavalactone quantity. This reveals itself in absorbance through a colorimeter.

#Stats:

For the most part, each stat does exactly what its name says, though because this is a SaGa game, most stats will also have secondary effects that you don't need to care about (I won't mention them since that would take too long to explain), unless you are really want to min-max the game or if you're doing speedruns, but nothing you should care about if you're playing the game casually.

• HP: Hit Points, once this hits 0, a character will be knocked out, but any healing spell/item will get them back up, there is no fixed "revive" item/spell, just any healing spell will do.

• LP: Life Points, this a stat found in most SaGa games. If your character loses all their HP, they lose 1 LP, and any hit they take while their hp is 0, they will lose 1 more LP. As long as you have LP left, they will recover full HP after battle, and during battle, they can still be revived as long as they still have LP. You can recover LP at an Inn.

• WP: Weapon Points (Waza Points in Japanese), this is the pool of points that your weapon techs will drain from, think MP but for weapon techs.

• JP: Magic Points (Jutsu Points in Japanese), same as WP but for magic spells.

• DEF: Defense, higher defense = less damage taken.

After finishing the 3rd book in this series, I can safely say it was an even bigger step up over the 2nd, much less the 1st book. All of the good things I've mentioned before have only improved. In fact, I've finally seen enough foreshadowing and set up so far, that I feel like I can make some pretty credible predictions or guesses which I've put after my impressions on the book itself.

I really liked how Yerin's arc of grieving for the ever mysterious Sword Sage was written and finished here and in the series so far in general. In Blackflame particularly, that refusal to let go and accept that he's gone took an actual real form of the remnant, a literal personification of a posthumous sacred artist's spirit. One that is clearly just a shell of his former self yet Yerin couldn't let go of even this husk because of how afraid she was of being alone, of losing the last remnants of his voice and teachings. Even when it was clear, this was holding her back and Eithan even told her that himself. So, when she finally absorbed his remnant, a metaphorical acceptance of loss, she was finally able to properly grieve for the first time and cried.

Another reason for why I really liked this book was Lindon's continual progression in the sacred arts. In fact, this whole book could just be summed up as one big training arc :D. In a way, his advancement to Iron at the end of Soulsmith, was just a small taste or a preview, if you will, of Blackflame. In the former he advanced to Copper and Iron whereas here it was Jade and Lowgold. I'm guessing the next book will be Highgold and Truegold or Highgold+absorption of a remnant.

To go into more detail about his progression, I was actually quite surprised by how much he actually learned in this one book. A whole new cycling technique, a new path, three techniques pertaining to this path, Little Blue and a freaking dragon turtle in Orthos. Plus, all the experience in fighting within the Blackflame trials that not only imrpoved his combat skills but also his teamwork with Yerin. Now he's finally able to fight side by side with Yerin. No longer will he just be saved by her again and again with no ability to do the same for her. Now he's able keep up with her at least for a bit until his madra runs out lol. So sorry but this is a long one however I hope you find it interesting.

So I recently posted that I was going to start trialing alternative therapies for my fibro pain. I'm only a week in but I feel like I've managed to stumble onto something that could hopefully really help someone else so here it goes.

Monday 12th I started my first experiment. I remembered once the doc saying I had low calcium but nothing came about it. With this in mind and knowing that vitamin D can help with fibro and calcium absorption, I started a routine, Vitamin D supplement in the morning, a glass of milk at night. 2 days later my IBS then flared up more and I also noticed ezcema on my hands. I then looked into a possible cause and sure enough - lactose intolerance causes bloating, diarrhoea, ezcema and also muscle pain. (It turns out low calcium can be an indicator of lactose intolerance) But, it doesn't stop there.

Now I know that people are aware that dairy can be a trigger for fibro but because it can take days for it to cause an effect, stay in the system longer than we're aware of and the milk-protein is in more foods than we realise, even with minimal amounts being eaten, it is likely going overlooked as possibly a main culprit for people.

After looking more into dairy products and about lactose intolerance and milk-protein intolerance there has been very few, but some interesting research studies linked to these and  fibromyalgia. Muscle pain, Allergies, Tachycardia, Tiredness and Headaches (MATHS syndrome) is another interesting find.

Now I keep an eye on this sub from time to time and there are interesting similar unnoted symptoms that I see a lot of people with fibro having experienced that don't get mentioned on those faithful WebMD or NHS pages.

1. People before being diagnosed with fibro experienced nausea, vomiting, GERD and heartburn as symptoms - I experienced this myself. I had 2 endoscopy's with no diagnosis, then further progression of symptoms for 2 years until a final diagnosis of fibro

After looking at lactose/milk-protein intolerance symptoms, the list is as follows:

Osrik Umbyrphrae was a Groken. Osrik loomed over his display panel, looking at a device that created ultra high resolution images of organic structures. It allowed one photo to capture the structure of a species’ cross section down to the crevices in a cell's organelles, without the use of radiation like a human X-ray machine. The Egyptian featured Human lay in a bronze coloured sphere; it had no doors except a hatch on the side with a bed similar to a morgue fridge. The Human laid down on the bed with straps to keep his limbs in place.

The historical significance of this group of people is explained in an article on the Reuters news network, entitled “Negritos’ Celebrated as Early Taiwan Settlers”. [4] The article says “These dark-skinned people are believed to be ethnically similar to Negritos”, who are “believed to be among the oldest settlers in the island”. This is the article’s key point, that these black pygmy people were the original inhabitants of Taiwan, predating the people now referred to as Taiwan’s aboriginal population.

SPF and UVAPF (UVA Protection Factor) tests can be in-vitro (not on humans) or in-vivo (on humans).

In-vivo UVB testing:

• Mainly the Australian standard or the COLIPA International SPF Test Method (which uses at least 10 but not more than 20 volunteers) are recommended. (COLIPA: The European Cosmetic and Perfumery Association)

• Spread sunscreen on human volunteers' backs and irradiate with a Xenon Arc Solar Simulator.

• In Japan, the SPF label can only go up to SPF50 (test values are rounded down). Anything that is over SPF50 will be labelled as SPF50+ (SPF51 will also be SPF50+, different from EU sunscreen labeling where I think SPF50+ means at least SPF60).

• High SPFs are difficult to measure due to biological variations, but this is probably the best method, but expensive.

• Scientific accuracy and reproducibility issues in general (my inference: different labs using volunteers of different ethnicity will give different results).

• There are various standards/references.

In-vitro UVB testing:

• Cheaper alternative because in-vivo data on 20 folks isn't exactly sufficient to build a bell curve...

• Basically they spread the sunscreen on a substrate (quartz plate/biomembrane) and measure the absorption or the transmission of UVB radiation. Or they dilute it in solutions and measure it with a spectrophotometer.

• Results will vary depending on the substrates used. No standard proposed yet.

• In general, all the in-vitro methods tend to overestimate the SPF value for low protection sunscreens and underestimate the SPF for suns

Disc Priests are getting a ton of changes, here are the current changes for this recent patch.

• Thoughtsteal’s (PvP Talent) “Confused” spell that players are afflicted with after being Thoughtstolen is now a 20 second cooldown to indicate the duration of the lockout.

  • New PvP Talent: Inner Light and Darkness.
  • Searing Light (PvP Talent) renamed to Blaze of Light and has been redesigned – Increases the damage of Smite and Penance by 15%, and Penance increases or decreases your target’s movement speed by 40% for 2 seconds (was Smite damage increased by 15%, and reduced the cooldown of Penance by 1 second).
  • Ultimate Radiance (PvP Talent) healing increased by 150% (was 250%).
  • Trinity (PvP Talent) no longer increases Atonements damage to healing transfer by 20% and the critical strike chance of Smite, Penance and Shadowfiend has been increased to 30% (was 25%).
  • Atonement’s damage to healing transfer has been increased by 20% in PvP combat.

The increase to atonement healing, baseline, without trinity, is a nice change. I think the change to Ult Radiance is speculative. For instance, if people naturally survive longer with the higher ilvl cap this season (probably not but who knows), than maybe Ult Radiance isn't 100% needed, and the new ability could just be better.

I like the change to searing light. Seems great in 2s, you can penance an enemy around a corner, giving you a lot of breathing room. I am interested in seeing it be used, and whether or not it is in fact useful.

If someone can test whether the light portion affects PW:S, I would appreciate it. PW:S does not always benefit from healing or healing spell modifiers. Absorptions are classified differently, which is why the PvP talent "Archangel" specifies healing AND absorptions. But not being on the GCD is huge, makes it 100% viable.

Even if it didn't affect PW:S I think this is going to be a high use talent.

Edit: Despite what wowhead states on the spell page, someone in comments stated the ability is on GCD after testing. With a 15sec cd, I don't think it needs to be on the GCD.

In this post, based on my personal views and analysis, I'll try to characterize some of these players and their respective roles in VBIV price manipulation. I will start with: a. Smart accumulators. These are institutions/hedges/retails that have conducted their thorough DD on the company's IP and have a clear idea about its true intrinsic value. The main goal of accumulators is to accumulate as many legit shares as possible while lowering their cost bases.

b. MMs (Market Makers), who could care less about long-term potential but more concerned about a daily transactional aspect of a given stock. Their main goal is to maintain the liquidity of a given stock while making a profit off of market-makers spread. One of the primary MMs responsibilities is to provide an uninterruptibility element for trading. On trading days when MMs are out of inventory for stocks where demand exceeds supply, to maintain liquidity MMs are forced to naked short to fulfill incoming buy orders. Such naked shorting puts them in a deficit column and eventually forces their hand to use several manipulative tactics to lower stock price so they can cover their naked short positions with minimal losses.

c. Very well-organized shorting syndicates. Some of them are basing their shorting strategies purely on technicals. In contrast, others using informed knowledge to open and close their short positions in a timely fashion. IMO, the former group in this category gets trapped the most because of their shortsighted approach and decision-making process, which doesn't always consider thorough IP analysis/valuation. The 3rd subcategory within this group acts as a service for hire and helps interested parties or company competitors to execute hostile takeovers. And the 4th and final subcategory utilize orchestrated shorting to gain from option plays.

d. Retail shorts. I call them scavengers, lol. Like the well-organized shorting syndicates, most of these guys are not placing value in the company's intrinsics, mostly following technicals and utilizing price drops created by bigger shorting syndicates. Hello everyone! My name's Oliver and I'm on a mission to make trans health information accessible, so that we can make informed decisions about our bodies and our health. Today's subject: Alternatives To Hysterectomy. The information in this post is mainly geared toward AFABs on testosterone, but there is valuable information here for pre-T and non-T folks as well.

In the name of accessibility, this post is also available as a video for people with reading/attention difficulties (or other disabilities) like me. Let's get started!

Part 1: Testosterone therapy does not make hysterectomy medically necessary.

There are a lot of myths about trans bodies, most of them conveniently validating disgust and contempt toward us. One of the most prevalent of these myths is that being transmasculine medically necessitates hysterectomy.

Being trans only necessitates hysterectomy if your dysphoria makes it necessary. Period.

Buck Angel will try to scare you into buying his lube by telling you that his testosterone-induced atrophy resulted in an infected uterus. And well-meaning but misinformed doctors will tell you that testosterone will definitely give you ovarian or endometrial cancer (it doesn't).

Let's address the cancer myth first.

According to the UCSF Transgender Care Guidelines, testosterone creates a theoretical risk for endometrial hyperplasia or cancer. "Despite this theoretical risk, only one case report of an endometreioid adenocarcinoma exists in the literature. Two studies suggest that the risk of endometrial hyperplasia is low, and that transgender men may commonly have endometrial atrophy when on testosterone." (Ovarian and endometrial cancer considerations in transgender men)

In English, the theoretical risk is due to the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. Too much estrogen without sufficient progestin increases a person's risk of endometrial cancer (Cancer.gov). This risk doesn't pan out in real life because being on testosterone usually causes you to produce less estrogen. Which brings us to our next topic: testosterone-induced atrophy.

While the cancer risk is pure mythology, atrophy in the transmasculine population is (unfortunately) very real. But it technically isn't caused by the testosterone.

so I made some simple math, and please take a look and share your thoughts:

First step – developing a topical product
Setting the company – 850€
Renting an office for 6 month – 850€/month X 6 month = 5100€
Monthly expenses (internet, phone, electricity, water, etc.
) – 200€/month X 6month = 1200€ (from my experience in my business)
Initial investment (two computers and 4 monitors, printer
rental, coffee machine, etc :P ) – 4000€
So this is just what we need before anything else, and this
gives us roughly 11 150€, and maybe a small 5% coefficient for unattended needs,
we need 11 700€ for starting the company.
Now, we need to hire two biochemists, and assuming we can
make a 6 month contract with possible renewal (and this I hope comes true)
according to the success of the product and sales.
So, 2 biochemists at a 2500€ salary for 6 month – 2x6monthx2500€
= 30 000€
Okay, this is a company running and working with about 41 150€
in a 6 month period.
Then what we need to do is find suppliers and buy small
quantities and test them for purity and quality, and I came across one company (https://www.intertek.com) and asked for a
quotation and I am actually waiting for their answer, but a local university
also does this for 200€ per sample, so I think this will be a good starting
point.
We might ask for samples from several suppliers and test
them in the independent lab, so we will find the best purity available and the
price.
I would say we reserve 3000€ for this, simply because some
suppliers might not be available for sending samples for us to test and might
actually have to buy a small quantity. This is on the safe side.
Melatonin we can actually find very good supplements very
cheap, so this won’t be a problem, and this is already included in the above
value.
Meantime, our biochemists will be studying the best way to
deliver the topical solution, but a vehicle/carrier won’t be too difficult for
them to conceive. Ethanol, glycol, distilled water, minoxidil, stemoxydyne
(these last two I would rather not use), or maybe using an oil like rosemary
oil as it actually does help with scalp health as well, but this is the part we
need to e formulated and studied as the best way to deliver the ingredients. As a brother here suggested we might even add some more ingredients that increase skin absorption that are natural and have been studied as well, but this part is what we
