A list of puns related to "Vegan school meal"
One of my daughters practically has been taking snacks for lunch. She doesnβt enjoy sandwiches like my 5 year old so Iβve been giving her yogurt silk soy yogurt it has 16g of sugar! I hate that it has so much sugar and Iβve tried other brands with less but she doesnβt eat it. Iβve tried some other options that Iβve seen off some blogs and have given her salads but she asked me not to give it to her and I donβt want to give her foods we eat at dinner time. She eats really well for dinner and I donβt want to mess with that. So for now she does yogurt fruits and carrots with crackers or chips. If any of you have some ideas Iβd love them. She will be taking lunch to camp, luckily she is going to one that allows a lunch bag instead of a brown bag lunch. Idk how she would survive without her yogurt. Lol maybe itβs a sugar addiction at this point since we donβt eat much sugary foods.
I (30f) am getting married next Saturday.
My friend since college Rachel (32f) is a newly turned vegan. She started being one back in November. I got a call from her yesterday asking what vegan options I will have. I told her none because we already picked the menu out back in July, and we are doing BBQ.
Rachel got mad at me and said as the bride and host, itβs my job to make sure she is fed. I told her she wouldβve been fed had sent back the RSVP by the correct date. Besides, changing anything on the menu, even for a single person, adds a late fee to my caterer because the menu had to be finalized almost two weeks ago.
She said she wonβt come if there are no vegan options but I asked her if it was the other way around, would she serve meat and she said no because it goes against her beliefs. I asked what she would have me do and she said that if I didnβt like it then I could bring my own food. So I suggested she do the same and hung up in her face.
My fiancΓ© (32m) is with me on this but some people in the bridal party think that since my caterer does offer individual meals (vegan) I should pay the late fee and the additional meal fee so Rachel can eat (total would be almost $120). They also said I knew she was vegan and should not have needed an RSVP to anticipate Rachelβs needs.
AITA for not doing this? I wouldβve included it had she brought this up before the deadline but she didnβt, and sheβs known about my wedding for the entire two years I was engaged.
Edit: No, she never sent in her RSVP card. The card had a space for dietary needs/accommodations.
Around two years ago I made Vegan lasagna for the first time and my entire family loved it.
I didnβt tell my family that there was TVP soya mince instead of meat in the lasagna but they didnβt notice.
So fast forward some months I show them the TVP and all react neutrally but my father tells me that he doesnβt like it and now he asks for his little meat lasagna corner all the time.
I donβt know why people have so much pride in meat, the same happened with Beyond Burgers, first they tasted like steak but then no thanks βreal oneβ instead.
hi everyone!! hope youβre all well!
just wondering if anyone has ideas for vegetarian or vegan snow day meals. weβre supposed to get a nasty norβeaster this weekend with a projected 8-12 inches of snow. We live a few blocks away from the ocean, so itβs going to be particularly wicked. Iβm worried about getting snowed in/power outage and just trying to pre-plan some meals in case weβre unable to get out, so far we are thinking about pasta with sauce and spinach, chickpea curry, and trying to brainstorm others. Any help is appreciated and I hope you all have a great day!
Edit: did not expect this post to gain so much traction! I wish I could give every single one of you a response and nice lil hug, thank you all so much for the great recipes and ideas! Hopefully itβll help everyone else whoβs trying to brace the storm too! much love π
Another win for the movement! =D
My daughter and her friend M are both 12 years old and like to have sleepovers every now and then. M's family maintains a strict vegan diet where she isn't even allowed to drink milk. Her parents are nice people although a bit on the neurotic side. M is bright young girl and she's a good friend to my daughter but I noticed how much smaller and paler she is compared to my daughter. I think it's likely tied to her family's diet.
So whenever she is over I always make a big meaty meal for them. Last weekend I made some cheeseburgers and steak for them on the grill with a big glass of milk. M absolutely loves it and always politely asks for more (which I happily provide). For snacks I give them some of my venison jerky. For breakfast I typically make a big plate of scrambled eggs and bacon again with a big glass of milk. Despite her size M always wolfs down whatever I make. And I have to say everytime she leaves it looks like she has a healthy glow to her.
I know I probably shouldn't be doing this but I think M is a bit malnourished (nothing against vegans or anything). She knows she'll get in big trouble if she tells her folks. (I think she fibs a bit to her parents about what she eats).
AITA for letting my daughter's vegan friend eat meat?
I'm just lactose intolerant
Hi! Like the title says, do you have any easy and nutritious (low cal) go to vegan meals that require little to no prep or cooking? This could even be frozen veggies with your fave TJβs sauce and plant based protein, for example. Tell me your faves! Thanks so much!
I'm going vegan tomorrow and I want to try your favorite(vegan) meals.π
Edit: I'm reading and I upvote every single comment(except the ones from the haters). And thank you so much for your suggestions ,I will try them .
She literally has the word vegan in her account title, and Iβm following because she makes amazing vegan Mexican food when sheβs not solely utilizing PBC (which I will admit is more than I would like to see) but she has no issues handling meat and posting videos of it TO HER VEGAN ACCOUNT. As people on TikTok say, the comments didnβt pass the vibe check. I saw other vegan accounts commenting but none questioning her or criticizing her on that jump scare. I didnβt want to see that this morning. She deserves her bloodmouth boyfriend, sheβs just as guilty of animal exploitation and selective morality for actively supporting his meat habit. My boyfriend and I have a tumultuous relationship because he is plant-based and I am vegan. I canβt stand him and give him shit all the time for it and thatβs how itβll be until he fucking sees the light or we break up. Iβd never prep or buy him something that isnβt vegan and if that is a deal-breaker for him then letβs break the deal.
Hi everyone, I want to switch to a vegan diet but am very new to it all and finding resources online for vegan meal prep/plans seems almost impossible using Google, as if they don't want it popping up lol What resources do you use to find recipes or to educate yourself on what to eat to make gains while vegan? Thanks!
BF is feeling kinda ill (not sure if covid yet), and I wanted to make him something light & nutritious. I feel like the stir fries and curries we normally make are pretty heavy. He has canned soup but I wonder if he's sick of those now. And homemade meals are always nice
I'm a relatively new vegan (1yr or so) looking for some advice on how you all approach your meal planning and grocery shopping. I was never good at this even before going vegan but feel more pressure to be getting ample amounts of all the nutrition things.
I frequently will make one meal where I'm really proud of the nutritional diversity and taste. But more often I am left feeling overwhelmed by the effort to eat a balanced diet which leads me to just eat some chips or a plate of random ingredients and feel worse.
I know a large part of maintaining a healthy diet starts at the grocery store and right now I can get stuff for one recipe but then I end up getting random odds and ends to fill the gaps. This leads me to have food and yet feel like I have nothing to make. Sometimes I buy too much and it goes bad other times I don't buy enough!
I'm not tempted to go back to my old eating ways because it was really no better, I just didn't pay attention. Now I feel I have to. I'm not looking to bulk up or drop weight, just maintain and have energy.
(I am supplementing B12)
