A list of puns related to "Summary execution"
I'm not talking about Axis soldiers who'd already been taken to POW camps, I'm talking about like recently captured Nazi's being informally executed by grunts shortly after being taken prisoner. In "I Heard You Paint Houses" Frank Sheeran claims that it was a pretty normal thing to be asked to take just-captured Nazi's into the woods and execute them, and i've heard similar antidotes from other accounts. Is there any truth behind it?
Assassinate a few politicians in stealth.
Are there any historical examples in which leaders of conquered and defeated nations in war were summarily executed without trial upon being captured by the victorious nation?
In the serie Band of Brother, in the last episodes (when they are penetrating in German territory) there is this scene were german soldiers are executed by French soldiers. Soo i've read the entirity of the campaign of the French 1st army (basically the backbone of the french forces during the western campaign of 44-45) i the author never mentionned any sort of summary execution. The only event that could have been similiare was the execution of 12 french SS by the soldiers of the French 2nd armored divsion.
So did anyone has any sources that the French did such thing?

We are having a wee debate over in /r/CredibleDefense about if there is any evidence that battlefield executions for cowardice occurred but I can't find anything that would indicate so, even once.
I am also curious about it's practice in other times and places so feel free to expand of that as well.
Hello... Boys. I have been having an argument with our Magos Biologis on how you greenskins have managed to evolve. Before I executed him then declared exterminatus upon his homeworld he recommended I enter my enquiries to this forum.
How does a race with a life cycle and behaviour so inimical to its own survival, go on to defy natural selection and become the second most successful species in the galaxy (humanity obviously being the most successful)? You constantly run into battle (battles you intentionally seek out) against missile launchers, gunships and artillery with glorified sharpened sticks with no fear whatsoever to... Crump... and yet you somehow number in the trillions. How is this possible.
Also, how common were immediate summary executions in 19th Century? Often seen as a coercive literary device in movies... when and why did modern militaries shift policy and attitudes towards violent punishment to motivate soldiers?
Hypothetically, If I take a Brood Brothers Patrol detachment, two full Conscripts and a Commissar, do the Conscripts use the Commissar's LD (10 w/ the +1), and could the Commissar use "Summary Execution" to re-roll failed morale tests?
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 49%. (I'm a bot)
