I'm a teenager with a passion for maths and physics and a passion for art and I've always loved playing video games but I don't know how far I'm going to get if I don't have experience with mainstream games, gta, call of duty, apex, forza horizon and all that stuff which seems like most companies are creating. if I have to google walkthroughs for things like celeste and portal I might not have it in me to create difficult challenges. could a job in programming be more focused on making things work than making them challenging and fun?

I want a nice chill vr life sim game to wind down and I don't quite get how to browse genres to find a game like this.
I have been using all my non-work, non-school free time to sort of destress by immersing myself in cottagecore fantasy. I am looking for a game where I make and harvest things and can go to markets to interact with others and purchase and sell my goods, and make/decorate my tiny little home.
Preferably it would be open world, with no real beginning or end or strict start-to-finish plot. Something where I am allowed to choose what I want to do and when I want to do it, and with enough choices or building capabilities to explore my creativity or shape my world the way that I see fit.
I also really enjoyed the early parts of Raft (just collecting crap to build my little home on the water), the base-building and survival (collecting and storing food for winter, making clothes to keep warm, etc) aspects of Don't Starve, etc.
Tried Minecraft and it just doesn't scratch that itch, though I'm not sure why.
I only started playing yesterday and I often look up videos for help and I barley can find any for slime rancher portable. So I was wondering if they have any differences with what’s in game?

Alright, So the most probable theory is that Bea Went through H's sorta teleporting machine (don't know what it's called) and then boom that's where she ended up in the second game, Second and last theory is that bea explored the rest of the slime planet that she was on in slime rancher 1, this could be true as we have seen other areas that are available through teleporters only, so maybe bea found a new uninhabited island with brand new slimes. This would also explain the og slimes returning, What do you guys think? Also feel free to leave theories in the comments.
i was 39 when i bought slime rancher. My wife was not to keen on me getting this game however i went through with the purchase typed my credit card details in and spent 14.99 my wife was scared i would cheat on her with the slimes. However this didn't stop me from playing the game of my dreams i am now 42 and still loving slime rancher, my wife and i got a divorce and i made her leave my home (she is now on the streets) because she doesn't like slime rancher she is begging to live with me and i said no sharon you are not coming into my home with this hatred you carry for for the tabby slime. I tried to bargain with her however she said 'you cannot date the tabby slime' so i left her on the streets and i think she does heroin now . I think this problem was brought upon her because she is a ignorant lady so i said to sharon the other day 'you will not come in my home the rock slime is like a son to me' (she hates the rock slime) i don't feel like i should allow her access to my home. The stress she has brought to me with the noble hatred of my slimes; i am a simple man i quit my job (tescos regional manager) for slime rancher as i feel it brings me more joy than tescos so i quit. I am struggling to pay my rent but i think with the upcoming release of slime rancher 2 i will feel at a all time high.
However my ex-wife is calling my mother and telling her about my unconditional love for this game i don't feel like anyone can stop the joy i get from this game. I just feel like a lonely lemon why does no-one share this passion of the wobbly slimes, its coming up to my 43 birthday this month and i am having a slime rancher themed party hopefullly the tabby slime will give me a lovely present. I just fear for the worst in my slime cage she has been closer to the rock slime than me.What if she doesnt like me anymore?

yesterday, i was awoken to a smashing noise, it was my ex-wife she was throwing rocks at my window i scrambled put on my slippys (slippers) and ran outside i then saw my ex-wife who appeared to be under the under the influence she said 'Lawrence take me back and forget about these childish slimes' i instantly locked the door ran to my room, and cried for hours how could someone be so ignorant to not event take 10 minutes to play slime rancher. My brain just struggles to fathom why she hates it so much.
In light of these facts, i have decided to report her to the authorities i believe she is spending time in a phychiatric ward i hope
