Iβm trying the all American meatloaf for the first time. I have two meatloafs prepped and ready to bake and I just realized I used sardines instead of anchovies by mistake. I do NOT like fish and the smell while prepping was so intense that I worry the final product will taste very fishy.
I prepped two so I could freeze one. Is the meatloaf ruined? Can sardines be used in place of anchovies? I think I am going to have to make something else in case it doesnβt turn out βΉοΈ

Pictured: -lacinato kale, dandelion greens, and brocolli sauteed in ghee til wilty.
Not pictured: added some sauerkraut for pro/prebiotic benefit (fermented cabbage, ginger, turmeric, sea salt) and packed 2 tbsp of primal kitchen caesar dressing on the side for more fat and flavor.
Aiming for nutrient density, goal of reduce inflammation and improving my gut and skin, focusing on increasing green veggie and omega 3 intake, staying away from sugar/gluten and cheese (which I might add back in later, but wanna see how I feel without it.)
Not pretty, and definitely some acquired tastes like sardines, bitter greens, etc, but only took 10 minutes (not counting egg peeling time lol) and I feel good about it going into my body. Also taking fish oil and a digestive enzyme/probiotic
I'm a 5'2" 110 lb woman btw in case any larger people think this looks scanty. Doing IF so this will be "breakfast" at around 2 PM. :)
If so, what food and how did it go? Growing up I was pretty poor and often only had whatever single-mother concoction my mother was able to put together. From microwave "American quesadillas", to sugar butter and cinnamon bread to Mayo and cheese sandwiches.
My son is rather picky especially with meat and I thought I'd try a Mayo and cheese sandwich since I know he loves bread and cheese. It was a total hit! But sitting there watching him eat it make me laugh at how I hated eating that food π
I have 2kg of fresh frozen whole sardines in my freezer, and no idea on how to best prepare them.
I have grilled some before, but they kept falling apart.
Basically they are in my freezer and going to waste, while I'd prefer to just eat them.
