We all know that Ryan and Chuck are innocent, but it seems like everyone forget about Kent. His killer is still out there. My personal opinion is that his coworker Michael Boyd might be the killer, but no one cared to pursue this further because they thought Ryan and Chuck were the killers. What do you think?

Iβm watching Dream/Killer on Netflix right now and it seems so familiar, I know Iβve heard of this case before but canβt place it. MFM is the only podcast I listen to that covers different cases every week so itβs not some other podcast Iβve heard it in. Anyone know if theyβve covered this case at all?
>In the early morning hours of November 1, 2001, 48-year-old Kent Heitholt was murdered in the parking lot of The Columbia Daily Tribune where he worked as a sports editor. He was last seen alive by co-worker Michael Boyd. Boyd told police that they had a work related conversation in the parking lot between 2:12 and 2:20am.
>Minutes later, janitor Shawna Ornt stepped outside for a cigarette break and saw two shadowy figures near Heitholt's car. She ran back inside to get her supervisor, Jerry Trump. Both janitors witnessed two college-age men near Heitholt's car. The janitors reported that one of the men yelled "Someone's hurt out here, man" before both men walked away through a nearby alley. The janitors notified other employees and called 911 at 2:26 am. He was found severely beaten with a blunt object, and then strangled.
>On the same evening, 17-year-old high school junior Ryan Ferguson and another junior Charles Erickson were attending Halloween parties in the area. Ferguson and Erickson later decided to go to meet Ferguson's sister at a bar called By George because a bouncer who worked there would let them in despite being underage. When the teens were out of money, Ferguson's sister bought them a few additional drinks, then cut them off and Ferguson and Erickson left the bar.
>On the night of the murder, Erickson had been under the influence of cocaine, Adderall, and alcohol. The following day, he had had no memory of what had transpired that Halloween night. At a later hearing, attorneys asked Erickson if he had noticed anything unusual the morning following the crime such as injuries or blood on his clothing. Erickson confirmed that there was nothing out of the ordinary. Ornt told police that she got a good look at the young men while Trump reported that he was unable to see them clearly. Police recovered unidentified fingerprints on and inside Heitholt's car as well as an unidentified hair in his hand. Police also recovered footprints in the blood at the crime scene. Ornt gave police a description of the men and a composite sketch was made.
>The crime had been unsolved for two years when, in October 2003, local media again covered the murder. Erickson reportedly had several dreams about the crime after seeing an article in a newspaper and, a few days later, mentioned the murder to Ferguson asking him if he thought he may have be involved. "It was crazy that someone had been murdered a couple blocks away from where we had been p

Hi, I'm Ryan Ferguson! I just got out of prison after 10 years for a crime I had nothing to do with. I've just recently released a book about surviving prison and how to create your best body. If you have an opportunity watch βDream Killers.β It is about the conviction of Ryan Ferguson, another case that Mrs. Zellner took on and was successful.
βNot to be condescending but there were seven unidentified prints and they excluded them!? Most places they would never have pursued the case. That would have been it; they are not involved. Itβs so hard to undo these things. Thatβs what I think is wrong... They did not like it that we came here from another state, this is a closed club here. They didnβt like it that we came here, then they really didnβt like it that we found all this evidence, and that we were making the prosecutor who is now a judge, look bad.... You donβt do stuff like that, even though somebodyβs life is at stake. Thatβs not ok.β
βThe first tactic was to get us off the case, to get us disqualified. That didnβt work. ... theyβve tried to threaten us, theyβve tried to report us to the Illinois disciplinary commission, this has been down and dirty the whole way.β
Sound familiar? Lol
βThere can be no key piece of incriminating evidence left on the table, if we want to win. Everything needs to be recanted, shown to be false, nothing can be left.β
Zellner took over Fergusonβs case in 2009. Mr. Ferguson was released 4 years later. Several witnesses recanted their testimonies.
When was Kent Heitholt murdered!?
October 31, 2001 - morning hours of November 1, 2001.
Weird coincidences? Or a means to guide the actions of police across the country four years later. Btw, from what Iβve read, the victim was struck 11 times with a tire iron before being strangled to death.

Dream/Killer - Follows one of the most outrageous True-Crime nightmares that I have ever followed personally. After the brutal murder of a sports editor in Columbia, MO, the police arrest a 19-year Ryan Ferguson two years after the crime based on some one else's dream. Ryan's father, Bill, confronts America's broken judicial system to fight for his son's freedom. Where To Watch - Dream/Killer
Ryan Ferguson follow up docuseries: Unlocking The Truth
From what I've read so far, this is very similar to how Zellner got Ryan Ferguson off. First, debunk the state's evidence that the convicted person was the perpetrator. Second, show how the police missed a completely obvious suspect that had the opportunity, means and motive to commit the crime. Third, show a number of prosecutorial violations. There was no silver bullet that proved Ryan Ferguson's innocence, or identified the real killer. What happened was that he was awarded a new trial because of a Brady violation, and a rather weak one. Then the state decided that they weren't going to try him again because the evidence against him was pretty lousy. This is what will happen with Avery. Don't expect a confession from RH, or conclusive proof of RH's guilt. Avery will be awarded a new trial and, in the face of all the state's evidence being debunked, they will not re-try him.
Simple.
Ferguson's case had no witnesses to come forward and say they know who did it.
Avery's case does, and with the confidence that Zellner is rolling with, by openly saying she is not even going for a re-trial...you have to assume that someone talked, and I bet his name rhymes with Scott Bloedern.
Just won the Ryan Ferguson ruling that defendant officers have no qualified immunity for framing my client. #Lifeafterten #Makingamurderer

(Apologies if someone has already linked this) Yeah... its MTV. But its actually really really good! As we wait over the coming weeks and months for our case here to finally unfold... Ryan Ferguson (exonerated by KZ in 2013) investigates (with others) cases of possible wrongful convictions. Throughout the show Ryan talks about his wrongful conviction, exoneration and other things that are very emotional and moving. And the cases they take up are very interesting and also emotional and moving. Please check it out! Edit: Am watching episode three and guess who just showed up... Tricia Bushnell!
Apparently the insurance declined to cover the cops because they weren't their insurer in 2004 . Here is the the complaint
He's using a different lawyer . Zellner too busy or no idea of insurance law or has Ryan cut the cord ?
