A list of puns related to "Ray Mears' Bushcraft"
I bought this knife a few months ago and only sharpened it on a stone. It has scratches on the blade near the edge from laying it flat against the stone and sharpening. The blade style is a scandi so this is how I sharpen my scandi knives but seeing that it was making scratches I stopped. It also has a scratch on the G10. Other then that it is unused and in great shape. It doesnβt flip open quickly because it has 2 detents. It was designed this way. The centering favors the show side but doesnβt rub. The knife locks up tight and it comes with the box and brochure. I am asking $110 shipped and not really looking for trades. These knives can be hard to find in the US.
First of all, if this makes it, I really want to say that I had lost all hope concerning all the survival/bushcraft TV programmes of today until I found Ray Mears some years ago. No pretending, no stupid and needless stunts, no fear mongering, just honest knowledge about bushcraft and the history of it. Ray Mears, thank you from Finland!
My 5 Questions:
Public Contact Information: link to a page with email, phone numbers etc
I know you guys get threads like these virtually round the clock. I even read some of those threads. So sorry, if this annoys you but I must ask this.
Ray really ignited a spark in me, I got really interested in the whole bushcraft stuff. Living off the land, working with rather than against the nature and so and so forth.
I know how hard bushcraft skills are to learn. Ray himself says it in his videos that it takes many years to learn this. I can understand why. And I know this will be a long run but I must start somewhere right? I thought about reading a few books about the local wildlife with the main goals to recognize some important species around here, what plants and mushrooms are edible, which species can be dangerous, etc. Is there any better way to start my bushcraft journey? I don't want to jump head-first into the unknown waters, I like to take small steps.
Any other tips for a beginner?
I make the occasional knife and would really love to make myself a new camping/hunting knife thats an exact replica of the ray mears bushcraft (or woodslore) knife. Do any of you perhaps have an accurate scematic for this knife I can trace?
