A list of puns related to "Pike Place Market"
Does anyone know if pike place is open?? I know Golden age Comics is open, but I'm what about the other stores???
Welcome, tourist! Seattle has a lot to offer and I sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay. However, one thing that is not fun at all is trying to drive (or ride) through the Pike Place Market. It isn't a good idea. Obviously, your precious vacation time is yours to spend sitting in traffic, crawling along at a snail's pace, and stopping for massive crowds every couple feet if you wish, but...
So why do it? There are better ways to see The Market.
DON'T: Get an Uber or Lyft to "The Pike Place Market" - They will drive into the Market DO: Get an Uber or Lyft to "The Showbox" - It's just across the street from the main entrance and has easy spots to get dropped off
DON'T: Drive through The Market to get to the parking garage on Western Ave DO: Go around The Market to get to the garage
DON'T: Call it "Pike's". That's like asking for directions to "Trafalgar's Square" or "Central's Park" DO: Call it "The Market" or "Pike Place"
DON'T: Do the gum wall. It's gross. DO: Anything else.
DON'T: Summon an Uber or Lyft to pick you up anywhere in The Market DO: Walk up to first and request the ride there
DON'T: Wait hours in line for chowder at Pike Chowder DO: Eat the same chowder at Pike Chowder in Pacific Place (6th and Pin) with no wait
DON'T: Turn at 1st and Pike into The Market DO: Fail to turn at 1st and Pike into The Market
DON'T: Wait an hour to go to the "original" Starbucks. It's the same coffee as any other Sbux and it is technically the second Starbucks, as the original location at 2000 Western

A few weeks ago someone posted a link to a video I posted from a 1992 visit to Seattle. I decided to go back through my archive and I pulled out some additional footage from another trip I took that year. Here's the first part and it's mostly of driving into the city and visiting the Pike Place Market:

Here's the second part, this one arriving by ferry and visiting the Space Needle, complete with a grunge band playing:

Anyone recognize the band playing? It's kind of hard to hear but I thought I'd take a shot.
