A list of puns related to "Moment of silence"
You will be mist.
They get into a huge fight about the best way to start the camp fire.
The two sit in silence for a few moments, cold and frustrated
The dad promptly reaches into his backpack, grabs a pair of scissors and tears into the wall of their canvas shelter.
The son yells, "What the heck are you doing, you maniac?!!?!?"
The dad turns to him, looks him dead in the eyes, and says, "Just trying to cut the tent-son."
After a few moments of silence, my son replies "That's it?"
Maddie wanted the kids meal with a leg so I said βKids meal with the legβ and the lady says βWhich side?β
Me- *complete silence as I heavily contemplate such an odd decision*
βI guess the right side, hell I donβt know what the difference is.β
After several moments of laughter she says βNo hunny which side would you like to go with the leg? Potatoes or fries?β
I really want to have a daughter and name her Zelda.
I imagine, as she gets older she will spend all her time writing sick poetry and rhymes in her journal, growing her hair down to her back, not to spite me, but so she can donate it later, and expand her wit by studying improv comedy through highschool.
As she becomes famous, I hope she will invite me to one of her rap battles and put me in the front row. My heart will grow as she takes the stage, but fatherly intuition tells me something is wrong...Zelda is frozen at the microphone.
I see her up on the stage, eyes alight with fright, hair pulled tight into a bun. She and I lock eyes, a moment of silence passes and serenity slowly enters...THIS is the moment we have been waiting for all our lives.
Looking up calmly, I couldn't be more proud as I exclaim, "Rap puns, Zel. Rap puns, Zel! Let down your hair!"
Lettuce have a moment of silence.
So last night, i proposed to my girlfriend of 7 years. We went to go watch Boyz ii Men out here in Las Vegas. I had purchased the meet and greet package to which the entire show staff and Boyz ii Men were completely aware about what I was about to do.
After I had popped the question, there was silence, Wanya turns over to my girlfriend, and says, "You can say, he's On Bended Knee." I heard my girlfriend silently groan under her breath, before she said YES!
I'm notorious for puns in our relationship, so after he came through with that punchline, she knew that they were in on it too. What an honorable night for a dadjoke!

The kid kept screaming, screeching poorly-articulated profanities at the disinterested father. Over the screaming chaos, the father managed to order a water for himself, and an orange juice for his kid. The waitress came by with the drink, and within moments the kid smashed his cup onto the floor out of pure, unaimed toddler rage, spilling the drink all over the floor and the waitress.
The father apologized, but asked if the gremlin could still have a second orange juice, hoping the kid would miraculously calm down. The waitress conceded despite the terribly behaved toddler, and returned to the shrieking zone with a second orange juice. She had forgotten to clean up the puddle of orange juice however, and slipped. The cup of juice went straight into the kid's face, and like a fire extinguisher to a flame, the kid just went silent, as if a lesson had been learned. Everyone in the restaurant looked at the table in silence.
Juice twice had finally been served.
For centuries, we've used our shop as a means of teaching the youngest of our lineage the importance of teamwork, the value of a dollar and, most importantly, the self-satisfaction felt in a job well-done.
In the past few weeks, it's been repeatedly brought to my attention that our youngest child, Sheeran, has been demonstrating particularly helpful and productive tendencies so, today, I felt it was finally time to experience the honor of rewarding his efforts, offering him the opportunity to join our workforce; to which he was nothing short of ecstatic!
I'll be honest, I initially withheld concerns that his excitement would subside once I explained the sorts of menial work I'd have to start him off on but, to my relief, he took no issue in hearing that his duties would mostly revolve around wiping our patrons' hair off of the chairs, and sweeping it up from the floor.
Sharing a moment of beautiful silence, exchanging our most heartfelt of smiles and basking in this pivotal moment of his development, I placed my hand on his shoulder and said, "Son...
You are really going to have your work cut out for you."
So, short version of a long story... We lost our home in the Paradise, CA Camp Fire Nov 8, 2018. My wife was on the phone with our daughter who is in college, discussing new bedding for the new house.
They had been at it for quite a while, when I said, "Duvet have anything you like? It would be a sham if they didn't..."
Silence on the phone, then, "dad, just stop."
"Ok," I said, "Just get everything down that you like."
Sigh....
One of my better moments as a dad!
There isnβt another soul on the street.
Suddenly, from out of the gloom, comes an ominous bump...bumpβ¦bump.
He looks behind him and spots a furtive, shadowy thing coming down the street after him.
Unnerved, he picks up his pace, finally breaking into a panicked run.
He looks behind him again, and the shadow is closer.
Bumpβ¦bumpβ¦bump.
The glow of a streetlight illuminates the shadow momentarily, and, to the manβs horror, it is a coffin, bumping down the sidewalk.
He quickens his pace, running as fast as he can go, but the coffin only pursues more quickly.
BUMPβ¦BUMPβ¦BUMP!
He reaches his house, fumbles frantically for his keys, and slips in the door just as the coffin reaches his front steps.
He slams the door and leans against it, catching his breath.
Bumpβ¦bumpβ¦bump.
There is a momentβs silence, and the man wonders if he dares to breathe.
Suddenlyβ¦. Bumpβ¦bumpβ¦bumpβ¦Bumpβ¦
BUMP! BUMP!
BUMPBUMPBUMPCRAAAAASH!!!!
He rebounds away as the door breaks off its hinges.
Scrambling to his feet, he charges up the stairs, and the coffin races after.
BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP!
Terrified, he backs into a corner and starts throwing everything within reach at the coffin β a handful of papers, a vase, a box of crackers, a lamp β but the coffin keeps coming!
BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP INCHESFROMHISFACE, and nothing seems to slow it down!
His hands fall upon a bottle of cough syrup, and he throws that at the coffin, too!
The coffin stops.
I work a cancer hospital and schedule patients for surgery and procedures and stuff. I had this one couple who I knew I would like as soon as they sat down. The first thing the man says to me βyou wanna hear a joke?β Me βah, of course!β ....a few moments of silence go by... dad βdid you hear about that actress? I think she played in miss congeniality? It was Reese something? She committed suicide.β Totally buying the story I go, βare you serious!? Reese Witherspoon!?β And with out a beat he says βNo, with a knife.β And I looked at him for a few seconds to comprehend the joke and then lost it! I know this is probably old but itβs a classic.
I was being a brat, so my step-dad said
"I think he's on his period."
I reply
"no, I'm actually on my comma."
To which my mom chimes in
"I'm so confused..."
Moment of silence... My step dad looks at her...
"hi very confused. I'm dad."
Many fistbumps between him and me.

Last week, I took my friends to my parents house at the beach for a couple days for fun vacation times. One of my friends bought a box of cheerwine krispy kreme doughnuts, but one of the tasty morsels mysteriously disappeared in the night. The day after, we discussed the culprit options. One person said "maybe it was your dad," another said "maybe it was your mom," and I said "or maybe it was one of us.." A couple seconds of silence passed, then I had the biggest pun eureka moment in which I excitedly chortled, "Man, this is a real WHODOUGHNUT!!!"
Conversation between bf and his cousin:
Bf: So, what's new with you?
Cousin: I wish I had something cool to say to that, like, I built an aircraft with my bear hands! I never have anything cool like that...
Bf: Understandable! How could you have built an aircraft without opposable thumbs?
Moment of silence. Moment of laughter. Queue interesting conversation.
For all of my life, my brain has played a soundtrack. At all times, in all places, I hear music going through my head, from the moment I awaken in the morning until I go to sleep at night. I can only shut it off by listening to other music, watching a movie, etc. but it soon starts up again once the outside source of stimulus is removed.
Yesterday I was travelling. When I visited the restroom prior to boarding my flight, the the music in my head suddenly switched tracks from "I've Been Everywhere Man" (that got really old after the first hour. Oy!) to "Africa" by Toto. "That's odd", I thought to myself, "the music in my head usually doesn't switch tracks unless something has changed around me." I finished my business, cleaned up, stood up, and turned around to flush.
Then I saw it. There, emblazoned on the porcelain, was the word "TOTO". The manufacturer of the toilet. "Nice job, brain, funny, hah-hah," I thought to myself.
The song in my head came to an abrupt halt. Silence, for just one moment. Blessed silence. Rare for me. Then I realized. My brain was giving me time to digest the previous joke. Waiting for me to think I'd arrived at the punch line. Pausing for a beat before it delivered the next one. "Africa" started over again, telling me exactly why the DJ deciding songs in my head had picked this exact moment, this exquisite situation, this exact set of circumstances to deliver the internal Dad Joke of the year:
"Doodoo doo-doo doodoo do dooooooooo...."
We were exchanging greetings.
Me: "Hey, how's it going?"
Him: "Oh, you know, same ol' thing. Another day, another dollar."
Me: "Well, you should probably ask for a raise..."
There was a moment of silence before he realized what had happened.
I was much too amused with myself.
GF: "You forgot I am ill."
Me: "Oh I thought your stomach pain is gone, or else you would have mentioned it."
GF: "Yeah so I thought, but I went to see the doctor anyway."
Me: "What did the he say?"
GF: "He said I have intestine infection."
Me: "Ohhh so your gut feeling is all messed up now, isn't it?"..
After a moment of silence, she burst out laughing. And said goodnight with a kiss.
I am going to marry this one.
So this happened a couple of years ago. I worked in a room of about 40 engineers. Someone on a different team always had his phone on loud, and his ringtone set as the Friends theme (which soon became pretty annoying)
Anyway, one afternoon, the offender had gone for a cigarette but left his phone behind. Phone rings, and no-one dares answer his phone for him, so we all ignore it and eventually they ring off.
Moments later, same thing happens, I think it gets through the intro and into the first verse before they ring off.
Silence. We breathe a sigh of relief. They've given up.
...
*Ding digading ding dinga din...
Someone in the office yells "HE IS ON A BREAK"
While waiting for a table at a restaurant, we were discussing if my girlfriend's mom would cut off her hair when the friend lost hers. Suddenly her dad asks, "What kind of candy cow doesn't produce milk anymore?" We all stare blankly until he continued "Milk duds." After a moment of silence his wife suggests we get a drink from the bar while we wait.
We had put everything in the U-haul except pillows, blankets, and a couple of lamps. I grabbed the standing lamp in one hand and the desk lamp in the other and said to the moving party, "even though these are kinda bulky they are surprising light."
They responded with confused silence. After a moment my sister responded with, "ooohhhhh ha."
I just came back from a holiday back to the UK to visit friends and family (am an expat).
While we were there we went to a nice community festival, with some great beers. An American friend of a friend proudly proclaimed that heβd bought a pint of red stout.
Looking up at the board, and seeing the name of the beer, my eyes lit up: a golden opportunity had just presented itself.
βNah mate, thatβs not red stout, itβs called Red Stoat. You do know what a stoat is, right?
[confusion]
βWell, itβs a little rodent, a bit like a weasel. You know how you can tell the difference between a stoat and a weasel?β
βEr..β
βWellβ, I says, βa weasel is weasily identifiable, and a stoat is stoatally different.β
Cue a puzzled look on the guys face, and a momentβs silence, broken by me and my friend pissing ourselves laughing, not at the joke of course, but at his reaction.
So this was all very well and good, just another in the litany of bad jokes that floats in my wake, and I thought the story ended there.
Karma, however, had other plansβ¦
A few days later, weβre up in the Lake District, walking back to the hotel after a pub dinner. As weβre walking down the road, we see a small carnivorous rodent dragging the recently deceased body of a rabbit back to its home. It was either a stoat, or a weasel, but you know what? I honestly had no way to tell whichβ¦
