A list of puns related to "Latex allergy"
Obviously you'd want to wait to do this until you're close to the point of having sex with someone.
I personally am allergic to latex. This makes using certain gloves and, yes, condoms a problem. But when I would mention this to potential partners in the past, there would be a 50/50 chance they would take that as an excuse to go bareback.
Obviously there are non-latex options. Here, Lifestyles Skyn is the most common. But these dudes, even "experienced" ones in the BDSM scene, would either be completely ignorant to their existence or pretend to be. The few partners I eventually had sex with either knew about non-latex condoms existed already, or were determined to find an alternative that wouldn't make me uncomfortable.
I suggest using this allergy as a vetting technique. See how able and willing he is to accommodate you.
If a man decides to go bareback in response, he ain't the one.
If he doesn't know that alternatives exist, he ain't the one. There is no excuse for this ignorance, as there are non-latex options in every store. Failing that, options are a Google search away.
If he complains about having to find a condom that doesn't burn your cooch in bed, he sure as fuck ain't the one.
If he doubts you even have this allergy, he ain't the one. (Didn't have this happen to me with a potential partner, but did run into this with healthcare professionals and various foodservice jobs.)
Bonus: allergic reactions aside, non-latex condoms typically feel better than the standard ones.
Most of you may expect your guy to find his own condoms, and I get it. Personally, I'd prefer to keep my own stash as I know where they've been. This strategy works whether you buy the condoms or not - you're just looking for their reaction to the news.
Start your career in healthcare and wear them for 16 hours a day for 3 months.
Itβs ok, ignore the rash. Iβm sure it wonβt scar later and get horribly horribly worse :)
I've never bought a sex toy before since I am a single male and I am unsure how a fleshlight can affect an allergic reaction to latex.
If anyone can assist me that would be great!
Hello! I am so grateful to this subreddit for helping me get into my real size, and not be stuck forever in cheapo 44DD bras that did nothing.
While I've accepted my lot in life of paying for bras that don't come BOGO, it has come to my attention that the red irritation and moist dermatitis that I experience along my band is not just heat and movement but actually a latex reaction!
Looking for recommendations for allergen free bras that fit a 36HH, which I know is a long shot TIA
A while back I purchased the Salivmar Boomblast fins which have a lovely foot pocket made of "natural rubber" according to their information.
Since then, I've married a wonderful woman who loves the ocean as much as I do, but she has an allergy to natural rubber/latex. I've tried contacting Salvimar about this to confirm any information about the foot pockets being actual natural rubber or a derivative which doesn't cause latex allergies, but nobody replies to my messages.
So I'm left with the option to sell the fins, or try and modify the blades to fit onto another brand of foot pocket which doesn't contain latex/natural rubber. Can anyone provide advice or guidance on this?
My partner and I are trying to find condoms that fit better. Big-box store options are leaving much to be desired, and Myone doesn't have a latex-free option.
The other issue we're having is that the very limited options we did find were like $8-$10 for a box of 3 which isn't practical.
I know it's not directly BDSM related, so I'm sorry if I shouldn't be asking here, but I'm comfortable here. ;__; Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Hi, this is a weird question, but I am new into MtG and I was told that I should probably get a game mat. The problem is that the mats sold by the LGS (and a lot of the ones online) contain "natural rubber" aka latex. I have a latex allergy, so this is a problem. Are there game mat brands that don't have latex in them that would be safe? I contacted Ultimate Guard and they confirmed that their products contain latex.
I admit the fact that it appears to be so prevalent in these things is weird, I work in science and we're phasing out or have phased out latex in the labs because of allergy risk, but that's gloves for lab stuff so I guess it's a different set of SOPs. But I really would like to buy a game mat, I just need to find one that is safe for me to actually use.
I am in Australia so brands available here or that could be ordered through LGS would be great, they're happy to do a special order for me, they just don't know which brands have latex and which don't. Thanks!
My friend canβt have have skin contact with those types of allergens, many of which are in skin care ingredients. So for example coconut oil in skin products, or ground apricot kernel in an exfoliant, or latex gloves, or instruments exposed to these things.
Who has a latex allergy?
I recently found out Iβm allergic to latex and Iβm struggling to find pants/jeans that donβt bother me.
What brands are you able to wear that donβt cause a reaction down there? I figured out what underwear I can wear, but when I put pants on I start to get uncomfortable. HELP!
I am left a little speechless after this encounter I just had with a drive thru worker(s). I was in line at a drive thru and when I pulled up to the window to collect my food the cashier had on latex gloves. I am allergic to latex and unfortunately I know that ingesting latex/ latex powder of any form is super rough for me (I tried to blow up a ballon as a 6 year old and went to the ER). Well until COVID, I have never encountered someone using latex gloves in the food industry. Usually when I see this happen, which has happened to me only 3 times before, I just ask the person to make sure the person who made my food was not touching it with just latex gloves. Well this guy looked at me like I was insane and even at first denied they were latex gloves. I didnβt make a big deal out of this and just wanted to confirm that the food was not directly handled using latex gloves. After some serious eye rolls from the two drive thru people they gave me my food and then said βyou should really tell people this kind of stuff before you have them make your orderβ. I told him that I agree but this rarely happens and that latex gloves are not common in the food industry. I ended up throwing away the food because I donβt think they even checked but I canβt tell if I am being the asshole here???
So I have a suspicion I might have a slight allergy to Latex as every time I wear condoms I experience slight redness and itchiness. I'm thinking my reaction at the moment is only mild but it's still an annoying inconvenience.
I've done some research and if you have a latex allergy you might also be allergic to certain foods, so I thought it's probably best to get checked.
NHS wait times seem too long, can't afford to go private, is there any other way to get tested for a latex allergy? Are home test kits reliable? Which should I look at if so?
Thank you!
G'day. In the past, I've tried and abandoned using ear buds but I really want to give the new Apple ones a try for their noise cancelling. Problem is, they're the in ear kind and after a few days of use those invariably trigger a flare in my ears. I'd like these to use while skiing in case I get. call and Im on the lift (don't have to take gloves off and can still "wfh"...) so the EarPod Pros won't fit this use case (won't fit under my helmet).
I asked a similar question a few months back, looking for replacement earbuds that were latex-free but there didn't seem to be anything available.
Hi there, I am allergic to latex. Last time i went mattress shopping i wore shorts so when i sat on the mattress id immediately know if it was going to be an issue. A majority of the sales people couldnβt tell me if the mattress contained any latex or not. Has anyone had any luck with a mattress pad to protect from latex? Any suggestions for a non latex mattress? Im 5β3, and about 190 lbs, hubby is 6β3 and about 210 pounds. Both side or back sleepers, he has neck and shoulder problems, I have lower back problems. Currently sleeping in king size adjustable bed with single adjust. I liked our current mattress, but Our mattress has become lumpy in less than 2 years.
In advance I donβt mean to sound insensitive to the seriousness, I just donβt know how seriously I should be taking it like such as wearing an ID band for latex and or avoiding all cross reactive foods even if they donβt bother me. I was advised by my doctor yesterday that I have a latex allergy. They did a large panel of bloodwork for other foods I started randomly having issues with and that came up. My IGE was a 0.18 at our lab itβs considered a class 0/1 she told me to be cautious and avoid latex and cross reactive foods because even with it showing low my reaction could get worse. Is this correct to those of you who have developed a latex allergy over time? These are some of my Achilles heel when it come to allergy, I get a lot of oral allergy syndrome, stomach upset, heart palpitations, anxiety. Nothing anaphylactic yet but Iβm advised to carry a pen.
These are just a few: -Apple class 3 -kiwi class 1 -banana class 1 -peanut class 2 -carrot class 2 -chestnut class 2 -tomato, orange, potato class 1 -hazelnut class 3 -almond class 2
Thank you!
Forgive any spelling errors or formatting, I'm on mobile.
Backstory: my school has a rarely used cafe, and it's a big deal whenever something's going on up there. They've started serving hot chocolate and coffee (caffeine is only to the adults though).
On Thursday, our principal (who also teaches child studies and religion at our catholic school) made the announcement over the loudspeaker that "the cafe is serving hot cock" and had to repeat herself.
On Saturday, I had a blood test and the dude had a false start which meant both my arms needed a cotton ball secured with medical tape to stop any bleeding. While I was telling him the story, he was laughing and forgot to mention that the tape itself had latex in the adhesive. I thought I was fine, the gloves were latex free and all seemed well in the world.
That afternoon, I'm having a shower, and I take the tape off (I figured I'd already healed enough), and there's still quite a bit of adhesive left on my arms but I didn't really notice. After removing it, I was moisturising my face and I guess the shower hadn't washed my hands well enough, and I rubbed my eye.
It's now Tuesday afternoon (Australian time) and while I can still see, its itchy and I had to borrow steroids from my mother to get everything under control. Haven't been to the dr about it bc that shit's embarrassing.
TLDR: was so occupied telling my blood test guy about the principal serving hot cock that I didn't realise I was having an allergic reaction.
I (26f) have a moderate latex allergy. It's not life threatening (AFAIK), but causes painful redness/itching/mild swelling. I recently developed an additional intolerance to aloe vera, which was a fun discovery from an already painful sunburn.
After a quick Google search, I realized that aloe (a rubber plant) is latex. Does anyone here happen to know of an alternative to aloe vera for burns/cooling properties?
Has anyone ever developed a latex allergy from the gloves? The past couple of days my arms have been itchy after my shift, even after I wash the Amazon dust off, and today I have a small rash on my wrist and a few bumps on my arms. Does this sound like an allergic reaction to the gloves to anyone, or something else?
My partner and I are very different in size. I'm 5'3 110lbs, and he's 6'3 240lbs.
He sleeps on his back/side, I sleep on my side exclusively, so I need something that's going to be soft but able to support his bulk.
I have had bad luck with memory foam mattresses in the top and absolutely hate the heat trapping.
I'm also (mildly) allergic to latex so I haven't tried any of the latex mattresses. Does anyone know if they're considered allergy safe?
I also have some chronic neck/shoulder problems so something comfy would be great!
Does anyone have any recs within this framework? I'm so confused and was even starting to look into those ridiculous sleep number mattresses because I want to find something that works for both of us.
For the life of me I cannot find any workout bands of any kind that are decent and not made of latex.
Hey all!
I've scoured google and youtube for help, but nothing has come up :/
I've recently started wearing wigs full time, only taking them off when I sleep. My biohair is in an a-line and falls just an inch or two below my chin, so I need a way to keep the bulk nice and flat, and the shorties in the back from sticking out
My problem lies with wig caps. I'm allergic to latex, so the elastic bands around the hairline make my days absolutely unbearable. I've tried the stocking caps, fishnet caps, and even simple kitchen hair nets (which are good for my allergy, not so good for flattening the bulk).
What's a girl to do??
Any pro tips here? My wife has a latex allergy. No fun.
My boyfriend has a really horrible latex allergy and also really big hands.
He plays goalie and is always reacting to his gloves with blisters and tenderness all over his hands. Does anyone have any glove recommendations?
So far heβs tried wearing an inside glove to stop the latex from touching his skin, but that reduces his grip on the ball significantly. And foam gloves apparently feel like oven mitts.
I understand the latex itself is what makes the glove grippy.
Does anyone have any magical glove recommendations or ideas?
Weβre located in Australia.
When I get a swelling I use latex.
