A list of puns related to "Eve (cigarette)"
I don't liked 4 rooms at all, but I absolutely absolutely absolutely loved 200 cigarettes. I love a movie set entirely on going to new years eve. The part where Dave Chapelle was driving them around as a taxi driver telling them not to worry its New Years Eve and just kick back. I want ANY movie based off the whole New Years Eve vibe, but UNFORTUNATELY a lot of movies just don't capture that energy. I watched Strange Days and it wasn't my type of movie about NYE.
Quoting another post, I dont want anything with just one scene that shows a celebration of it, I want it to be either the entire background or a majority of the runtime.
I've watched New Years Eve (2011) already btw
I watched the 2010s movie 'New Years Eve' with Ashton Kutcher already, but I'm looking for movies that occur on New Years Eve. Like partying, clubbing, or just getting wasted on new years eve. Not particularly movies about stealing a quiet kiss at midnight, or anything violent/rapey/horror/crime. I'm more looking like a full blown new years eve experience, like the mood and all the partying.
I wasn't a fan of Four Rooms simply because I'm not a fan of anything involving rituals, like the Madonna scene. I just want something lighthearted and fun, not some double entendre/subliminal messaging rubbish.

Fitzgerald, Tasmania is a small, rural community 57km (35 miles) out of the state's capital. As of 2020, it has a population of 38 residents. This just illustrates how small the community is.
In 1989, Eve Askew and her family moved from NSW to Tasmania. I couldn't find out much about their lives in Fitzgerald, but her family has said that Eve was a shy and reserved child. I saw comments on FB that indicated she was quiet and kept to herself at school (if you want to read these comments yourself, just look on the Tasmanian Police FB page. They have a post about Eve). Other comments say that she did not have friends, which isn't that surprising given that she was relatively new to the area. A comment thread on FB (under the Tasmanian Police page) has a few of her peers offering their insight but they all say the same thing. No one seems to have known Eve very well, at all.
On the night of the 16th of November 1991, Eve was grounded by her parents for smoking cigarettes. She left a note for her parents saying she was leaving. However, I can find no evidence that she did manage to leave the area, as she would have had to catch public transport or drive a car (which is unlikely, as she would have been too young to have her license). If she wanted to leave Fitzgerald, she would have had to get a lift. Thus, peoples theories fall into the following camps:
New Life:
Eve said it herself that she wanted to run away. I have heard it in the grapevine that she managed to return to NSW, where she dyed her hair black and changed her name. While it was easier to assume a new ID in 1991, it just isn't feasible to me that she was able to do this given her age, personality, and geographic location. If Eve was to have adopted a new identity, it would have been with help.
Accident:
Fitzgerald, as indicated above, is a fairly remote community. A quick search of the area in google maps brought up this street view. Unfortunately, I don't know the address from

βWe canβt stand the sight of each other any longer,β the father says. βWeβre sick of each other and Iβm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Leeds and tell her.β
The son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. βLike heck theyβre getting divorced!βshe shouts, βIβll take care of this!β
She calls Ireland immediately, and screams at her father, βYou are NOT getting divorced. Donβt do a single thing until I get there. Iβm calling my brother back, and weβll both be there tomorrow. Until then, donβt do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?β and hangs up.
The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. βSorted! Theyβre coming for Christmas β and theyβre paying their own way"
I'm sure many have us have seen it before, even as comments in this sub, that people will smoke in rooms and think they're being sneaky about it. They think that whatever little trick they do will keep the hotel staff from knowing what's going on.
So when one of our guests from New Years Eve decided that they wanted to stay an additional night, I already knew that I couldn't sell those two rooms to anyone else anyways, and I let them stay.
I mean, we could smell it in the hallway, and burning a candle UNATTENDED, causing the jar to shatter and setting off the smoke alarm was stupid...but if you want to give us another $700 in room revenue before taxes, and before the additional authorizations I was tacking on to cover the smoking fees, I'm just being a good front desk agent and helping you to do that.
They're probably gonna be mad later this week when they realize that all of those incidental holds didn't get refunded, though. Darn.
Yarmouth is located in South West Nova Scotia, Canada. The pretty town with wild rose bushes is a fairly remote place of just over 7,000 people but has a rich history. Itβs a historic seaport known for its lobster because of its ideal location facing the Gulf of Maine. It's very foggy because the cold Labrador Stream and hot Gulf Stream intertwine along its rugged coastline. But beneath the fog lies some sordid secrets that hopefully will not stay hidden for long.
Zack Lefave
21-year-old Zack went missing on New Years Day 2021. By all accounts he was a great person whose family and community miss him dearly. The handsome young man was hardworking and was employed at the deli counter at the Red and White Grocery store in town. He was a homebody who liked to play video games with his friends. He always made sure other peopleβs needs were taken care of before his own. A lot of the pictures I found of him showed that he was great with kids. He has so much to give to the community that canβt stop searching for him almost a year later.
The Disappearance
Zack disappeared mysteriously on New Years Day. He was 4-wheeling with his friends up until 4pm. At 6pm he went to The Grand Hotel on Main Street because a couple friends had a room there.
The friends take a 15-minute cab ride to attend a party in Plymouth. They get there at 11:25pm. The low-key party was comprised of about 20 people. Zack didnβt really know anyone there, since it was one of the girls he was with who had a mutual friend of someone at the party.
An attendee who saw him says he was drunk, but a happy outgoing drunk, not a passed out, falling asleep drunk. At the party there were fishermen who got called into work, which means they were most likely drinking and driving. The people there weren't sketchy and there was only marijuana and alcohol.
Zack bizarrely decides to leave and walk home at 11:49pm. It is a 2 hour walk along desolate highways. It's weird to leave the party right before the countdown, too. He was only there for 24 minutes.
11:49pm - 1st phone call using Facebook messenger where he says he is in Quinan, which is a 5 hour walk from where he actually is in Plymouth. There's no way he got to Quinan. He says he is walking to Yarmouth from Quinan, which is a 6 hour walk. Strange plan.
During the call he jokes and says heβs not wearing any pants but doesnβt seemed distressed. It was 3C (36.4F). Not super cold, but you still wouldn't want to be walking around in boxers. Hi

So my (F33) man (40) has a daughter (Alex 10), and is coparenting with ex wife. They have schedule but for New Year's Eve it was always ex's time - she were going somewhere for couple of days with friends and their children. This year our friends invited us to a house party, adults only in their 30s and 40s.
One day, out of nowhere ex wife said that they are not going anywhere this year, and she will let us know about plans as 'this is his weekend so maybe he will have Alex.' Uhm, I was not happy but well, life. She couldn't make her mind for weeks. Couple of days ago I asked did madame finally decided sth, so we can adjust plans. He said no, but he will tell her that if she still doesn't have plans with Alex he is taking her and she will go with us to the party. He said that he already called hosts and they are ok with that.
Well - I am not. Party with adults only, alcohol and cigarettes is not a place for a 10yr old. I think that some people may not want to have shouting and jumping girl around, she needs tons of attention and is very lively and energetic. He said that there are going to be ppl who have children so they will understand. I said that there might be some reason why they are all leaving their kids behind for the party, not to mention that there might be someone who simply doesn't like kids, and we must respect that. I said that we should stay at home, invite some of her friend for a night so she won't be bored and will have company of someone her age, and we will have some time for us. He said I'm being dramatic, it's just 1 kid who will go to sleep. I concludes that in that case, I'm not going as I will be embarassed. He's mad that I am being party killer here.
AITA?
The year is now 20XX. Just a few hours ago you were welcoming the new year in base with the Kansen. Your night of drinking, dancing, and celebration came to an abrupt end and you now you wake up to find yourself in a place you no longer reckonize with a pounding headache. Apparently you partied a little too hard...and either your base has been left beyond recognition, or you've stumbled somewhere you probably shouldn't be. What Would You Do?

I have 4 children and I'm pretty easygoing, they don't have a lot of rules they have to abide by, it's simple, be respectful, do your chores, and for the 2 teenagers (15&16) be back before 10 pm.
My 16 year old son came home at 11 last night when the house was already locked up after missing about 10 calls from me. He knocked to get in and I just called him back and told him he could sleep in the tree house and that there were already blankets up there and hopefully this would be a lesson to stick to curfew. He was apparently on a date with someone (whom we haven't met) and didn't realize his phone was set an hour behind. To me, that's all excuses, I told him he had the rest of the night in the cubby to reset his time and we'd see him in the morning.
I opened the door at 6, nice and early and he came in and went to bed, slept until lunch time, holding his siblings up from opening their gifts because we do it all together as a family. He thanked everyone for his gifts and went back to sleep after lunch.
My husband said I completely over reacted, it was an honest mistake and he's exhausted from not being able to sleep in the tree house, he would have been able to, it was warm enough and I put enough bedding up there. Still, my husband says it was a complete AH move.
AITA?
So my niece finished her associates degree last December from her local community college and since then has been working as a secretary and receptionist for a small sized tax and accounting firm, and preparing certain basic forms as well. Anyways I have heard from my sister or my niece a lot of complaints about her job in terms of management and coworkers, who are mostly men from 40-65. It was the main topic of conversation at the family Xmas-eve dinner.
Some things that came up at X-mas eve dinner. She says she has complained to HR multiple times about the below and that they just tell her "We will look into it", and nothing ever happens.
It all came to a head when there was a office meeting as a team building exercise for the holidays or something. Upper management, the CEO, and her boss, and a number of other people in the office were there at the meeting. At that meeting her boss put his hand on her shoulder while she was sitting at the table and he was standing behind her, and he made negative remarks about my niece's workplace performance. He stated she needs to strive to be "more compliant in life and never say no at work" and needs to follow the example of his obedien
