A list of puns related to "Doping in sport"
It was one year ago today that track & field lost David Torrence, a pro runner and vocal opponent of doping within the sport. He died in Scottsdale, Arizona, found face-down in a swimming pool. Recently I read an article from the Malibu Times published in February that suggested his friends and family suspected foul play of some kind in relation to Torrence's opposition to doping in running, specifically mentioning a 'foreign coach' that was arrested presumably with the help of Torrence. Whether or not the claims made and the article itself really hold merit (for my part, I could not find any other reports that mentioned a suspicion of foul play other than this LetsRun article), it sent me on a Google rabbit hole that caused me to realize the true extent of doping in track & field, and in the sport of running as a whole.
For starters, the 'foreign coach' mentioned in the Malibu Times article is Jama Aden, who in June 2016 was arrested by Spanish police in the Catalonian town of Sabadell. The police raided his hotel room and found troves of EPO, syringes, and other doping paraphernalia. This came well after several of Aden's athletes had been caught doping through 2015. More telling however, is not who had been previously caught but those that were with Aden in Sabadell at the time of the raid. According to LetsRun, they included Genzebe Dibaba, Ayanleh Souleiman, Abubaker Kaki, Abdalelah Haroun, and Musaeb Balla, among others. Together, these athletes account for 56 medals across multiple national, international, and world championship competitions, to make no mention of the countless regular season races such as Diamond League competitions. Just as innumerous is the number of national and world records these athletes have produced, most notably Dibaba's outdoor 1500m world record and indoor world records in every distance event ranging from 1500m to 5000m. Not present in Sabadell but previously coached by Aden also includes Taoufik Makhloufi, who himself won the 2012

Think about it - boxing with huge monstrous people. Tour De France with people who can ride at ridiculous speeds. Water Polo with chemically charged swimmers who don't need to breathe for like 3 minutes.
Why don't we allow doping in its own separate league for the entertainment of crazy fuckers??
