A list of puns related to "Diospyros virginiana"
I have a lot of extra American Persimmon seeds I've been stratifying and I wanted to see if anyone would like some. I will only send them to someone that is in their native range, but I don't want to send them too far south. So basically I want to send them anywhere in-between Illinois and New Jersey and no farther south than Kentucky or Virginia.
Lete know you are interested and you are within that range!
Edit: I'm going to send 10 seeds. There will eventually need to be a male and female tree to make fruit.
I would really appreciate any suggestions for a cultivar of American persimmon (Diospyros virginiana). I'm in Zone 6b near Cincinnati, OH.
I don't really have anything to offer in return and I realize it's a bit past their harvest season, but I figure I have nothing really to lose by asking :)
Turns out I hit the jackpot. Using my phone GPS, here's a list of every species of native wild-growing tree (or at least species with tree potential) within 250ft of my house. Hiya,
I hope you enjoy the below reviews. I'm just a regular consumer buying everything with my own money - i.e., nothing sponsored, etc. Note, I've bought all of them on sale for around AUD$15-20 because I like sales haha.
Products:
My skin used to be severely dry but is now slightly dry on the cheek areas and slightly oily on the t-zone during summer and slightly dry on the whole face in the winter.
Also note that the below two PKY products have different 'actives'/hero ingredients notwithstanding them seemingly being quite similar! I've bolded the plant extracts under the ingredient headers below.
Product: PyunKang Yul (PKY) Essence Toner
What is it: A benign, hydrating toner with no fragrance or 'natural' fragrance.
Cost & where to buy: Approximately AUD$20 for $100mL, AUD$26 for $200mL. You can buy it at most Asian Beauty places, e.g., YesStyle, Australian websites: Nudie Glow, Lila Beauty, Heart Drops.
Who's it for: People with dry/dehydrated skin, especially if it's sensitive or irritated. Note, this one is generally recommended for people with drier skin whereas the mist version is generally recommended for those with oilier skin Friends with eczema have also used this with success. . I can use both year round without breaking out. I've had friends with oilier skin who've used this one and have broken out. YMMV.
How long have I used it for: since approx. November 2019.
My thoughts: LOVE THIS. May repurchase this for the rest of my life. I've used this after breaking my moisture barrier, after chemical peels, after active masks, and also after getting my face ablatively lasered (after the the initial few days of only using an ointment). It's REALLY benign in a godly way. If you want it to do anything other than hydrate or increase the penetration of your other actives, this isn't the product for you

I have a friend in California who is looking for wild persimmon seeds to use as buttons for re-enactment purposes (Civil War). (I'm making the grand assumption that he's seeking the seeds of our native Diospyros virginiana.)
If you have some you're willing to part with or know of someone, please drop me a line.
The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.
Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.
--Edit-- I appreciate the condolences. I'm doing well and the worst is behind me and my family. But thanks :)
--Edit-- Massive thanks for all the awards and kind words. And the puns! Love 'em.
I would have a daughter
But Bill kept the Windows
True story; it even happened last night. My 5-year-old son walks up behind me and out of the blue says, "hey."
I turn to him and say, "yeah, kiddo? What's up?"
He responds, "it's dead grass."
I'm really confused and trying to figure out what's wrong and what he wants from me. "What? There's dead grass? What's wrong with that?"
.
.
.
He says, totally straight-faced, "hay is dead grass," and runs off.
You officially hit rock bottom
No it doesn't.
And then you will all be sorry.
Now itβs syncing.
He replied, "Well, stop going to those places then!"
I will find you. You have my Word.
She said how do you know he was headed to work?
βthank you for your cervix.β
...sails are going through the roof.

1. [BEPLAIN] Cicaful Ampoule - 4.34/5 (3,174 Reviews)
30ml/29,000 KRW
Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycerin, Methyl Gluceth-20, Polyglycerin-3, Pentylene Glycol, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyalutonate, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacilius/Rice Ferment, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Xantham Gum, 1,2 Hexanediol, Ethyhexylglycerin.
The few reviews I have read for this say that it absorbs fast, is pretty soothing, and some people state that it really helped their acne. The expectation seems to be that it's supposedly very good for acne prone skin. There are pictures of someone with pretty bad acne showing before and after pictures of their acne going away. (Korean skin care is more geared toward CALMING & SOOTHING acne than to go to war with it with drying treatments and whatnot. I guess because a large component of acne is inflammation?)
Some people said it doesn't seem to do anything for them, sensitive types seems to like it a lot, that it absorbs quickly. They like that it's unfragranced. Some VERY oily types said they feel like their skin is a little bit more oilier when they use it and that it doesn't absorb well for them. It may be really popular due to Director Pi suggesting it as the #1 soothing ampoule in her recent video. I see Director Pi's name pop up quite a lot in reviews in general.
